Your Z axis just BLEW MY MIND!!! I am designing and building a CNC router/mill and you just blew me away!!! I'm gonna have to rethink my design. ROCK ON!!!!!
I appreciate the work you put into this… and then shared it with the world… I was on the fence about the version 2…. But this is a home run … going to buy a kit
Your contribution to hobby cnc earns you the crown and a place in the hall of fame, not at all unlike Josef Prusa. I DO NOT speak hyperbolically or disproportionately. Enjoy your crown, droogie. It's earned.
@Ryan - V1 Engineering Inc your CNC machines are great, and I can honestly say its taken our shop over the top. We will be Grabbing the LR3 next month and repurposing the LR2. Two quick questions, I see you are using old school clamping techniques, have you ever tried the polymer brad nails by raptor? Finally, which control board are you using in that setup? We have the mini Rambo on the LR2 and want the best board for the LR3. Thanks in advance and also, thanks for coming up with such a great machine to allow folks to get into CNC work. Peace.
Glad you are enjoying the build! The composite nailers look cool, but screws are cheap and I don't need to turn on the compressor. I am using a SKR Pro on this build, best to have a 5 driver board, but you can get away with the mini if you give up some endstops.
Good Idea, I will add these notes to the description. I do have some notes in the video itself. In the closeup section. MDF - 22mm/s - 12.5mm DOC - Lowest speed on the router dial, single flute upcut from the V1 shop.
@@allted Thanks! i tried to see all the notes but may have missed it in there! Seeing how well yours ran i can speed mine up a LOT. And i was worried about 16mm/s at 4mm DOC lol

Can you make a tutorial video showing how to set up and use the touchplate? Also how do you have it set up to turn the router on from the LCD? And what do you have your rapid movement set to? That thing flew over to cut lol mine is slow!
It comfortably fits a 2'x4' piece of material. I rarely use more than 2' in either direction on a single project, but batch work the whole table. It really depends on what you might make. I use it for batch work so I use the entire surface as shown in the thumbnail, but a full sheet is not worth it to me, as I don't have the space to spare.
Hey Ryan, do you have any plans to move to GRBL? The software that I use for my Bob's cnc (Vcarve) doesn't seem to be able to generate tool paths for Marlin. any suggestions to help get it to work? Right now I am using Estlcam and it is not my favorite program. Thanks !!!
Actually, yes! www.v1e.com/products/jackpot-cnc-controller, you can also load GRBL on a few of the boards I have carried as well. Jump into the forums for more details.
Is there a video guide for the website. I know when making selection it states the pieces still needed either link or suggested locally but i get turnt around with navigation and my brain just stops working. Maybe if i wasn't using my phone. Find someone in the forum with the same problem. I am good now. Thank you
omg I just realized I mounted my RT0701C backwards so the red button to lock the spindle is inaccessible in the back. I thought I had to use two wrenches on the shaft and nut hahaha.
My Makita wasn't mounted correctly either, I had to open up router and cut epdm cable protecting shroud to half the length, that allowed me to orientate router the same way as Ryan, and still allow for the router cable to not hit the YZ plates at min X.
@@AzaB2C I left mine on there for a while, it just cleared the core. I took it off though to get a tighter bend. I slid it down the cord to the plug, then later cut it off because I wanted to stuff it in the beam later.
amzn.to/40Ycax8 I just got that one, highly recommended. It is much less loud than my last one, yet has more power. I think it might need a small printed adapter if you wanted to try and use the included hose, but I think it is best to get an extension anyway, and you can get that the exact size as the vac port on the LR3.
@@limebulls I have been switching over to the new domain, V1E.com. I have redirected nearly all of the links. Do you have a specific link that does not work?

Excellent!
How does the machine know the end of the axis where there isn't any end stop?

Does the SKR control the power input to the router? Or how is it turning on when you're resuming the work on the display? Thank you

Always best to ask detailed questions in the V1 forums.
Is the LowRider CNC able to cut PCBs as well? How much did it cost?
Of course, Have a look at the links in the description for up-to-date costs.

Hi Ryan, what’s the upgrade path like from LR2 to LR3?
For me i sold my working LR2 and used that money to build my LR3. But i know thats not feasible for everyone
There is a section in the instructions listing the parts, and I currently have a little upgrade kit in the shop.

Is the thouch plate in the lowrider build plans and kits?
Touch plates are easy to DIY, or you can buy them from the shop. Not everyone needs them for their workflow so, no, they are not included in the kits.
