One of the first things I noticed early in the video. You could tell he was eager to learn something that would help his recovery.
@@captainsin7126 Totally man right at 5 minutes 25 seconds, You can see him totally focused and hes entirely engaged in what Steve O has to say and it couldn't be any more genuine in my opinion. That's something you usually don't get to see anywhere even when addiction is disgust openly. Seeing 2 people learn from each other and then seeing 2 people learn from each other and have that person learning be genuinely open honest and receptive like maudson is doing here is a whole different situation jewelry to witness and I think it is much more powerful than simply having 2 people In recovery bounce ideas off each other or their experiences as we so often see in just about every other addiction related content online.

What's the deal with ModSun!? I'm just curious as to how he has all these connections within the industry (and how he even met Bella Thorton) given he doesn't have a huge platform and isn't well known for his creative endeavours.

He wont make it though. NOt in the career he's in. Being on stage is such a crazy rush with everyone yelling for you then you get on that quiet boring bus or that backstage room with no drugs or booze in it. Just you sitting there with your thoughts and the night. I heard the guys from Rammstein say once that the worst depression they ever had was on tour because when you walk off stage the love has left. The high has left. SO you replace that with drugs. Modsun is still pretty young to be an old sober man on tour. I hope im wrong but as a former junkie myself... i can just put myself in certain places.

This is a beautiful example of why making healthy connections can be monumental to those in recovery especially (or anyone). What a beautiful conversation between 4 guys. This guy truly needed to hear all this and he really looks like he wants to do better. Good for him and all of them for helping in that journey. This was awesome
The way he pays attention to what they’re saying is beautiful. Like a kid listening to an adult tell them something awe inspiring that they’ve never heard.
@@dickdeoreo Its addict behavior. He's "selling". Im a former addict for 8 years off heroin and meth for 12 years. Steveo tries to talk like a therapist and its just cringe. Mod was talking about feeling broken and steveo said "Most people havent found what they are passionate about!" Like, the dude is selling out arenas. You really think he should go looking for more? He's obviously still in love with drugs. I think steveo is just such a narcissist that he feels everyone should listen to him and that all his advice is helpful. Constantly talking about himself and interrupting the guests to talk about himself.

Hope he will get to a meeting and do those steps with someone who has done them and may guide him. It is impossible to do them alone. It worked for me a day at a time since June 13, 2003 …. If I make it to June I will celebrate 20 years!! It’s ALL because of the 12 steps! Period! 🤍🤍🤍💥💥🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍

As an alcoholic myself, who went to rehab and has relapsed really bad because I didn’t truly follow the 12 steps properly, I’m now going through a detox for the 2nd time and am SO ready to be sober and get this crap out my life forever, this video really helped me, listening to Steve-o is so helpful. I wish he could be my sponsor haha ❤
This was such a fantastic subconscious intervention to watch because you can clearly see this man is seeking help and see there is hope, but is unable to completely achieve freedom. I am saving this video because it hits home for me having dealt with alcoholism and depression so thank you guys very much!
Such a shame we lost Mac miller. That dude created so much amazing music and died at 26 so much good music to come, I wonder what he would have done if he’d got sober, not that the drugs didn’t help his awesome music, but he’d still be alive. RIP. And thanks for the great music.
I've been struggling with addiction for so long. Hearing mod sun say that he almost got a high from getting sober clicked with me so well. Every time I slip up again it's because I lose this excitement of finally being sober. After watching this I think I'm going to start the 12 steps.

I’ve only been sober for about 4 months but I know exactly what Mod Sun was concerned about. You get that initial rush of quitting the substance but eventually that wears off. Steve-O does a great job of providing some direction/optimism. Steve-O’s transformation really is remarkable/inspiring. I think this is now my favorite podcast lol.
I hope Mod stays strong, especially going through such a hard break up. 😢

Aww I hope Mod really will start the steps!!! I did 6 months white knuckling it, relapsed, then finally went to treatment and am trying my best to work the program. Actually working on yourself and "being abstinent from drugs" are two totally different things and I can tell a huge difference.
If you're still mentally struggling after 3 and a half years there is something you still have to resolve within you. And you're at risk of relapsing. Once I understood that (took me ages) I was able to really kick that crap for good. Almost 10 years today since I last stuck a needle in me.

Congrats man! I just got 2 in January and never thought it possible as a chronic relapser. God gave me more chances than I can count, I finally reached the point where I have absolutely NO desire to use. To someone like me that's a miracle. God Bless!

Yea you gotta be able to separate yourself from the outside world & really dive deep into yourself & things that have effected you & why you do the things you do. It takes introspection to be able to put different energy out to the world for me I had to realize everything I was doing was toxic to myself mentally physically & negatively affecting other people to. But since I’ve been working on myself the energy I put out to the world is a lot different & less negative because I’m not always on edge from always being in my head focusing on the past instead of the present/ future
I was at work really needing a meeting and I listened to this and it hit the spot. Thank you for sharing how amazing the 12 steps are.

The 12 step program is incredible but you have to do the work. Steve understands this at an incredible level, he obviously went into the program 100% and was probably scared for his life. Fear is a great motivator.
Mod I watched your documentary and have alot of respect for you as a human sharing the same affliction as many of us. Life is hitting us all hard right now but it could always be worse. You got out at the perfect time cause this Fent has killed all my friends. You got a very kind soul & you deserve to be happy. Always remember- This too shall pass & One day at a time. Hahaa, I love these storys ❤️ I work with 18-25 years olds housing where they are in high risk of homlesnes at Helsinki Finland. We try to do what we can to help them to overcome their struggles. Before I was working in a place where they give fresh needles and health advising to use cleanest as possible to stop infections and spread of every shit. I love my job because I see the human behind the face. There is always a story and I really know how that illnes works. Ive had some small troubles in the past but mostly I have just hang out with bunch of broken souls because I was one too. Storys like yours and Steve Os keeps my face in beleving that every one has a chance against that illness. Whole lot of good luck and hard work on your progress 💪 sorry for this being too long✌🏼

I quit everything , drinking & smoking pot , that’s all I did , nothing more . I just woke up one day & was tired of feeling hungover every morning & paranoid & as it felt like time was slowing down when I smoked . It really wasn’t worth felling like that anymore , I couldn’t concentrate anymore . Once I quit , I had more time on my hands , I found more time for hobby’s I neglected over the years , my hobby’s are my drug now & I like to keep it that way .
Mod sun seems very delicate still, keep strong bro. This was Powerful, and it’s hit home to me. I won’t divulge as there’s folks worse off with than me.
I needed to listen to this and it couldn’t of arrived at the most perfect timing. Thank you Steve and gang.
Mod changed my life. I was freshly 21 and was heading toward becoming an addict when he decided to get sober. He inspired me. I haven't drank in over 4 years and haven't done drugs or felt the need to do those things since. Thank you Mod.

I had better recovery on my own. I use medical cannabis, but I am 3 years clean off meth and 1 year clean off alcohol. I didn't like being around other addicts and alcoholics in the meetings. Id rather not talk about my old addictions every day.

Agree man. Meetings made me worse. Talking about addiction and being around alot of mentally sick people didn't help my recovery at all. I was stagnant for years going to AA and NA meetings. I did the 12 steps 3 times and would still relapse. And when that happened they would blame me and never once think that the program just doesn't work for some people lol. I eventually stopped going, went to psychologists and got on suboxone and quit the opiates and it was what actually got me clean for long periods of time. I smoke cannabis now also, and that's about it...
Only thing I got help with was the actual detox. I didn't do rehab or meetings for the same reason. I smoke a ton of weed, always have, but that wasn't the problem. Keep it up man, glad you're still here with us.

To see the steps in action acrossed the world on one of my favorite podcasts is truly a testament of the effectiveness of the program.
I remember his older posts before ig really took off he was posting alot about being high and I was in the same boat taking pictures of my cups if actavist thinking I'm living life at 18 boy I was wrong salute everyone who is trying or has beat there addiction stay strong that's one thing I like about the internet is even through all the bs and distractions there are people to talk to stay safe one ❤️
I just keep seeing keep seeing these episodes and listen and I see a consistent consistency from Stevo. Stevo you are impressive and your life is an inspiration to many. It seems really honest what you say.

Thank you Steve-O for these words you have helped me realize things I've never fully realized things did get better after getting sober but I have lupus and it's like I feel like life's just going okay this is what you get for being an addict all those years or something and trying to now get this under control right now is so so incredibly difficult and it's just like the struggling never has fully ended for me and I just pray that it does and it gets under control bc I have an amazing 9 year old and this disease which I feel like I'm a disease collector at this point 😆 but she absolutely deserves so much more than I've been able to give her and she has been my saving grace without her I know I would not be here right now but I've never done the steps I've tried but never fully do them but your words just now seriously put a new perspective on things and I was literally asleep got up to use the restroom and just picked up my phone and through my feed suddenly this showed up and I absolutely 1000% believe it was because I was supposed to see this❤️🙏💗 And I feel so much for Mod Sun right now bc I know he's an awesome person and thinking you've found your soulmate and then just boom it's done and not only done but then she goes at gets within days it seems gets with someone else which honestly is a huge downgrade Mod and her I thought were totally perfect for each other and I totally understand what he's going through bc the very same thing happened to me literally and it broke me for awhile and I relapsed for quite a bit bc of it and I just pray that he keeps sober and that as he's recently said there's a plan for everything.....

This show does a lot of good. I don't have any issues with substances, but absolutely have compulsion and addicts in my family and the way you guys explain recovery provides a lot of value to everyone whether or not they are strictly an "alcoholic". Truly great stuff

I have a job...house...but i drink every night...not enough that i can't go to work in the morning...but enough that ive been stuck in the same mundane job for the last 12yrs....smart enough to go to college and get a degree...but too lazy cause i can't wait to get home and pour a glass.
As someone who's been sober for close to 6 months now, I really relate to mod and what he means when he says he was "chasing the high trying to prove to myself I can do it" because I recently hit a point where I was so scared of sliding backwards, that I wasn't aware of the progress I'd already been making. The biggest help for me after finishing the steps was daily prayer and meditation. I found myself being irritable and had a hard time with anger at around the 6th month. My sponsor suggested daily meditation and each morning I started counting my breaths for 5 minutes to start and then worked my way up to a minimum of 10 minutes each morning. It immediately started working. Also praying that my higher power would show me the right decision to make throughout the day and give me the power to do it. Asking to take away my selfishness and expressing gratitude for something and thank him each night for my sobriety. By applying this daily in my life it has made a HUGE difference!
My meditation was exercise. I’m far too wound up for meditation and personally find it more annoying. Going for a light jog or hitting the gym or doing push-ups and making a good breakfast in the morning was my thing. It’s great to have those stress relieving outlets in sobriety. I mean, there’s no other way. Can’t wake up and hit a line in the morning anymore lol

I was really mesmerized by Mod Sun's vulnerability. He is really struggling. I am 5 weeks sober and this pulled at my heart strings. it's so helpful to know there is light at the end of the tunnel and people get well and really claim their lives and identities after being lost for so long. This makes me feel like eventually I'll fail without help and that it is there for people like me. Thank you Steveo for posting videos on sobriety and sharing what you have gone through. You're a smart man who really took change to heart

This just gave me my AHA moment…. I’m literally in tears.. I’m 12.5 years sober and I’m still in agony. I just started attending meetings again for the first time in 11 years and this is why I need to do the steps immediately. I’m suffering from untreated alcoholism. I never understood that until this video……
