I don’t think he’s that good.. Imma call it now, he’s not your future starter. These are some of the same things I saw at Cincinnati. Yes there were some drops, but he badly placed some of those passes where the receivers had to unnecessarily extend to try to make the catch. He missed throws downfield, as he did often in college, and he should have been picked to close out the game. I like him as a developmental backup, but nothing more.
@@romain8390 I'm an Eagels fan so I have no horse in this race, just like to see young QB's develop. Not saying he's gonna be an all pro, but I like what I saw. It's pre season so we gotta take it with a grain of salt
I seen some good things out there. Guys have to help their QB out by catching the football. Hopefully he’ll sit all year and learn and build and be ready to go next year. If the Falcons can build the defense they can be ok in the near future. They’re building something on offense. Ridder is a winner, he’s won on every level.
As a Cincy native and huge Bearcats fan... Ridder is going to be incredible for ATL. You guys got a steal. Immediate impact and wait till year 2,3 wow... can't wait to see more!
He played really well. Most of the incompletions are on the receivers dropping anything that was coming to them. Put him with guys that can catch on the first team, and I think he hold the starting job by the end of the season.
His debut came with GW TD throw gotta love it. Seems very poised in the pocket and throws well on the run. I think he will be a very solid NFL qb for a long time.

Remember, this is playing against backups. Regardless, Ridder had a stellar debut, and shows he has the ability to make good, quick decisions. Would’ve been better if his receivers were able to catch. I hope to see him and the rest of the qbs taken this year to prove everyone wrong about their “weak qb class.”
Literally would have only had two incompletions if the receivers didn't drop so many balls. Every pass was damn near perfect. Please start my Boi next week Mr Blank.
If the falcons start him week 1 I think he will be alright. It would be good for his development. On the other hand If they can keep him On the bench and Mariota plays well it will give ridder a season to master the offense and adjusts more to the speed of the nfl, he will be very good next season. Either way I see it, there isn’t a bad option for him.

He should've been like 18/22 with 3 TDs. The receivers had oil rubbed all over their gloves or something. Really good debut, albeit against some no names but still good. Plays like that last one to win the game are what gets your teammates to trust you and accept you as THE guy in the huddle.
Ridder should’ve had 3 touchdowns on one play the fb dropped a touchdown and on the other play the receiver cut back at the 4 yard line all he had to do was burst through the arms of the defender. Ridder looks like a pro already man it’s crazy
Goff and Mariota both played well in this game. Frankly however the stats on Desmond Ridder or misleading. The drops from of his receivers really made his 10 of 22 look worse. He completed more than 50% of his passes had those drops not taken place.
Only preseason - but probably one of the best games I've seen for a rookie QB. Stat line doesn't quite tell the whole tale with so many dropped passes.
Eagles can here, for some reason I enjoyed watching every play from this highlights. This mans got the it factor and some of those on the run slingshot throws remind me directly of Arod. Hope he wins the job, He could be the Herbert of this class defiantly late round fantasy worthy so far

The Receiving corps and the O-Line NEED WORK. Bro….the pocket collapsed almost every play. Ridder was running for his life just about every snap. And the the receivers kept dropping, perfectly placed passes. I saw what i needed to see outta Ridder. He’s poised, comfortable, smart, and has great touch. He needs better protection and more confident and *competent* receivers

I'm afraid, depressed that We ( Falcons Coaches ect) may make a unfortunate decision to trade or end up not utilizing this guys extremely well noticed talent .
I’m rooting for Mariota but how could you not want to give him the keys. With the likes of cordarrelle, pitts, London and Ridley when he gets back. I like how Huntley is performing in the backfield too. Hope the defense can at least hold teams to an average of 17 a game. I the offense is capable of averaging 21-24 ppg
Lot of great decision and almost every throw had good placement. Would have looked a lot better if some of the receivers caught those passes but not bad. I am not a Falcons fan but I'd bank of Riddler becoming a good starter if they can continue to build the roster up.

That was 14 weeks ago and he didn't have Drake London or OZ to throw to. Still won't have Pitts, but he'll have a better run game this time.
