Welcome to another episode of Polker Hands. Today we’re going to be looking at hand from a legitimate stream without people cheating. Let’s get into the action!
How Postle would play it: Garrett raises AA. Postle looks all depressed and conflicted. Clearly hates his life. Just calls with KK. Flop KJ2. Postle looks much happier. His hat grows a bit. Garrett bets. Postle min raises. Garrett calls. Turn 3. Garrett bets half pot. Postle calls. River A. Postle gets inexplicably upset and shifts around in his chair. Starts muttering about how life is unfair. Shoots a look of rage at the announcers. Announcers declare he will definitely fold. Garrett suffers small stroke and accidentally bets $15 into a $10,000 pot. Postle folds.
@@brucet.3239 lol doug literally told you why he played that way and why it's not terrible, flop play was standard but when a second flush draw comes in on the turn I do think check jamming becomes a play you should do more often
Thanks for discussing Garrett’s viewpoint after the flop on whether or not Nick had KK, JJ, or KJ. When I was watching this I initially thought those hands seemed very likely based on Nick’s pre-flop actions but listening to you talk about how those were certainly possible but less likely than a lot of hands that AA beat made sense. Very insightful, much appreciated.
Doug! Thank you for no spoiler in the title! I felt the crushing blow of watching that river hit for Garrett, like I have felt in live hands before. Great commentary as always.
I thought I was the only person to get these hands …. I’m gonna start playing some math and longevity odds instead of playing with everything looking for a fast quadruple up . Variance really exhausts man . Swings , ups and downs . I always felt like the poker world was against me .

Okay, so to preface this, I'm not trying to go all SJW on you, Doug. This is a genuine question from someone across The Pond, who is curious about dialectical differences between countries that on the surface at least, share a language. So, at 01:48 you say "spazzy." Are the words "spaz" and "spazzy" okay to use in your country? They're definitely on the naughty list over here, because of the mocking of spastics. It could be that it's worse in our case, due to the influence of the infamous interview with Joey Deacon on long-running kids' TV show Blue Peter at the end of the 70s, which introduced the movements and sounds to accompany the word spaz, to children nationwide. Unfortunately, some of us of a certain age and over (I was about 1 when it was actually on, but entered schooling a few years later with spaz culture firmly established), still automatically mock themselves or friends, for doing something thick, by going "merrrr" and doing the hands, as wrong as we know it is.
