I converted the blue velvet into a modern nightclub called Club Rune. It requires high school years.

I honestly can’t go anywhere outside of my Sims’ house because they’re always half dead and will probably drop in the middle of public.

@@katerinakaradimou7062 I have an M.2 drive.. I don't have loading screens luckily. I mostly don't go outside of the house because I forget it's an option.. lol Whereas on Sims 3 I'd constantly be out looking at things because of how open the world is. When doing things like a rags to riches though, you're kinda forced to go to other lots at first, so I end up doing it a lot then.. but I also end up renovating a lot of them once I get there..
What are you doing to your Sims?
I don't find the loading screens super annoying as it normally only takes a few seconds to go to the next place. The state the lot loads up in is really annoying though, Why is everyone standing out front like I have the keys but turned up too late.
@@SGast Yeah that's what gets on my nerves really too. When you show up and it's like the place hasn't opened. It shouldn't be too hard to just randomly place some sims around already doing things.. I miss Sims 3 feeling so alive..

The round trim glitch happens when there's one connected room upstairs that still 'has' the old trim applied to it, even if it's not visible (i.e. all walls that have the trim are surrounded by other rooms).
Currently, the only way to get rid of it is by identifying and deleting said room.

Maybe it would be fun to turn the community lots into houses. Kinda like a shell challenge/fixer upper. Where I live there's lots of churches and a few other random buildings that get turned into houses.
I feel like Get Together was necessary for my renovation of this place. I love New Orleans and the French Quarter, so I tend to gravitate toward Willow Creek with my sims, and I was excited to add some flair from my favorite real life spots.
Upstairs, I made the bathrooms smaller, put in a closet because mistakes need to be made, and had a kind of lounge area with sofas, area rugs, speakers, and darts. Downstairs, I rearranged the columns and tables, and added a dance floor between the fireplace and performance areas - which made a HUGE difference as far as activity and occupancy of the lot goes. Added sized down oil lanterns on all of the tables since I don't own any packs with acceptable table candles. Outside, because the fountain reminded me of Pat O'Brien's, but I can't have a flame in the top of it (or can I if I size down a fire pit...?), I added a fireplace that sims actually use! Was so thrilled since, before, no one ever went out back. Put various outdoor sofas and tables/chairs, along with dangly lights, on the patios. Also went for purple lighting in keeping with the French Quarter/Mardi Gras vibe. When I first did this, I was like WHY ARE ALL THE WALLS THIS COLOR BLUE before I remembered it was called the Blue Velvet. Also changed up the bar area a bit to add in a TV so they can watch an LSU game when there's not live blues or jazz out front.
Kind of want to turn the museum into a voodoo shop next.

Thanks for the trick with the trims! Didn't know that even though I played for years, and honestly so many of my builds could have been fixed had I known that before (because those damn trims always go in random rooms in the inside)
Fun trick if you hold alt while placing wallpaper it will only place on certain walls

I woked in a nightclub that had hand towles in the bathrooms. There were obviously more than one, and you tossed them in a hamper after use, so someone was littlerally washing handtowels, folding them and restocking the bathrooms ALL NIGHT! A totally mess, but we did not have paper all over the floor and stuff, so that's nice!
Sometimes, I like to turn clubs & lounges into restaurants. They usually become more active & lively. I don't like to manage them that much, but they are kinda nice, as places to visit. If you add objects that give off an inspirational vibe, by the chef station, the chef will usually stay in a good mood. If you do the same, with the bar, you can order Prose & Pop's.

Willow Creek has a lot of elements of New Orleans to it and I kind of love it. The Blue Velvet is giving me some Muriel’s vibes in Jackson Square, as well as just the French Quarter in general

This was one of the first builds I renoed! I hated that there wasn't actually any blue velvet in The Blue Velvet Nightclub, so I put down fancy dark blue carpet, then looked up French Quarter buildings because I felt that was the inspo but the exterior just felt off...Adding white trim and better accents definitely made it more New Orleans-y on the outside. And making all the lights blue, red, or purple definitely helped change the mood to nightclub 😊
You can press shift or alt, not quite sure which one of them to delete one part of a trim (exeterior or interior one, whichever you need ^^)

As late as the mid-80s, I saw those cloth towel rollers in public spaces. Well, semi-public. A staff bathroom at a grocery store that my father managed. It was exactly as disgusting as you could imagine. They also used that powdered soap.
