We will GLADLY open our door to any Ukrainian who want to come to Canada. Please don't be shy to come here and ask for help. You will get a decent apartment+food+internet+transport+ around 676$ CAD a month to spend on things like going to the cinema or restaurant or whatever . 676$ is not a lot of money but everything else is free so it's enough. Also, just tell Canadians you are from Ukraine and you won't have to pay for most things. 99.999% of us will just give you free stuff and won't let you pay entry. I'm sure you could go to the cinema every day for free in my town. Same for restaurants, if you tell them you're a Ukrainian refugee, your food will be free.

There is an ever increasing waitlist of immigration files waiting to be processed for skilled workers that should be helping Canada to address the increasing shortage of employees in many sectors of business. I support these efforts and actually very proud that Canada stands to support refugees. However, you do understand that only the most resourceful will come. My friend works in real estate in Toronto and there are new Ukrainian families ready to offer $4,000 for rent per month and pay upfront for 12 months. With average salary in Ukraine $498 gross per month, who will have $48,000 to pay upfront for 1 year rent? Obviously not the poorest. So, I support Canadian government to provide this support, but I also understand limitations that this will be supporting the most well to do class from Ukraine.

Listen....i'm a french ukrainian 🇺🇦. My heart is felt for my distant relatives. But I've been homeless for 6 years now...
In all honesty....there's thousands upon thousands of existing canadians here...residing on the streets ? Tax paying canadians who can't pay high rents....they are born canadians....born and raised here???? The waiting lists for low income rentals are 5 years in large metropolitan areas, 2 years in other areas....
What about our own people here....people born here...? Who's taking care of housing them ? Just saying......

I am Ukrainian permanent resident and came to Canada on visit and got stuck by war. My wife and kids are Ukraine citizen and currently holding up in Ukraine with lots of difficulties in their daily lives. While in Canada, I did applied for open work permit (being a spouse of Ukrainian national), but after 5 months of waiting, my application was rejected without any reason. I thought this program was meant for families directly affected by Ukraine war, but I guess that's not the case.

I had my doubts about Sean Fraser given how young he is compared to most other MPs, but he's been doing a fantastic job so far. He's practical, no-nonsense, works with has good relations with Conservatives, and spends as much time engaging with people in his rising as possible

My sister works as paralegal for Immigration in a private law firm, so not with refugees, which is handled federally. She entirely supports taking in "unlimited numbers" of Ukrainians as refugees (as do I), but she will be experiencing a huge volume of calls from her Immigration clients, who will be - very understandably - frustrated that they will now have to wait longer to bring family members (or themselves) to Canada because the refugee claims - again, understandably - will have priority. What can we/government do to make sure immigration and refugee channels remain fluid? I feel for those immigrating feeling they are always kept waiting due to wars and persecution around the world that keep resulting in more and more refugee claims to process, i.e., Syrians, Bosnians, etc. There HAS to be something we can do. What is it?

i don't mind Ukrainian coming to Canada as long as immigration respects other people who have applied before or those who are in process of getting their resident paper... soooo many people are waiting before Ukrainian... unless they work something out without delaying the ones before,
