Notice how robo's voice turns normal when he asks who the guy is. First sign of regaining his humanity. The metallic rasp in his voice is gone
My god, you're deep
Man, i never noticed till you said it.
not only that, when asks "who are you?" He might as well be asking himself.
Dead or Alive, your coming with me. What an iconic line, still holds up to this day 👍
you're*
if you love that line so much why don't you marry it? HUH?!?!?!
So iconic that you spelled it incorrectly. Nice.
Just like "I'll Be Back" Goes with The Terminator lol
"you a college boy or something?" also an iconic line !
What happens to that guy later is what nightmares are made of but he had it coming 😂
Yeah he tries to eliminate Murphy or Louis but ran to the acid chemical container that turns people to monsters. He isn't the bright man to watch where he is going in front of him.
I once had a dream of that acid waste scene but I was the college boy he threatened to shoot. With my heavy Plane Geometry book, I threw the book at his head and it popped like a pimple.
When I woke up, I recall saying, "I'd buy that fer a dollar!"
@@mrcreepypastaigotapastatop4461
He was trying to run down Murphy but he got shot at, ducked and ended up crashing into a huge metal container of toxic waste and became Nightmare Fuel man.
@@shadowdragonlord2295 yep Alex Murphy is no ordinary cop
He ended up showing his true face
Moves from the 80s and 90s were just made to an incredible level, so much better than anything in the last 20 years.
agreed
I wouldn't say that but there are indeed great ones from these 2 eras.
Special effects weren’t as easy to pull off, the story had to work or it’d fail. CGI gave them the freedom to forgo story but apart from Avatar, all CGI and no story are starting to fail now, so hopefully we’ll get some good stories again.
Hope they include that line in the new Robocop game
@@Atomykpimp They better not forget! 🤖 *Your move creep*
I love this scene. They went the Robocop program because the ED-209 lacked the basic humanity and judgement of a living cop...but the living cop remembered who he was.
the behind the scene data book explained that Bob Orton basically bypassed years of programming and script writing by using a human brain as a processor to an AI. They didn't think his brain still functioned after getting shot in the head, yet somehow the computing system kept him alive and brought back who he was.
Doesn’t the phrase dead or alive you’re coming with me have double meaning here.. Murphy said it saying he would take the criminal in dead or alive but now Robo is saying that wether he himself is alive or dead he was still taking him in.
@@Doodle1678 he said it as it was part of his subconscious while the programing was carrying out orders and using murphy as the cpu, his subconsciousness was bridging his awareness out of the programming, self-reflection of humanity remembering what you didnt know you forgotten, not knowing if your dead or alive while having just following function like a zombie he was waking up from the dead but unalive at the same time, Schrodinger's robocop
Peter Weller managed to be just as terrifying as Arnold in the Terminator.
Unstoppable and deadly cyborgs.
Would have been something if they had Robocop in that police station the Terminator crashed into.
They interact with each other and eventually fight on Mortal Kombat 11
@MrLafinte, there were comic books back in the day that had a crossover between Robocop and Terminator.
@@Alrucards Megadrive game was awesome.
@@willemverheij3412how could T800 survive before Cobra bang bang cannon 😂
I'm so blessed to ever be born in the 80s watching a classic film like this one. Never, EVER mess with Robocop! I have not forgotten that headline: DEAD OR ALIVE YOU'RE COMING WITH ME!
Same me to. Born In the late 80s 1988
Well yes but could robocop beat terminator
@@Krypton853You were born AFTER this movie came out, and wouldn't have been old enough to see and remember it until the late 90's. You are most definitely not an 80's kid.
Love some of the iconic lines in this movie. Even when he says “Drop it!” gives me chills. Paul Verhoeven’s films could be ultra-violet and graphic, but some were just masterpieces in the action film genre. Even when I was in college for film production, in my History and Appreciation of Cinema class, along with icons like Metropolis, Citizen Kane, and some others, Robocop was a film we got to in the more recent era.
Goddamn it such a perfect SciFi story.
To say this movie was ahead of its time is a vast understatement. So freaking good.
What i hate and i feel sad about Robocop when he learns that he's dead and he is Alex Murphy, a dead cop
Actually Murphy never died…his brain was alive even after they shot him…..so officially he was declared dead but his brain wasn’t..so wasn’t he…
Love the 80s, best movies and music
1:32..... what an iconic shot
this film has everything- drama ,comedy , action and pathos
This guy is an important character who gives robo a clue that he used to be a human, but has a tragic ending.
The way he dies is so ironic. He was so toxic to society.
"Get away from me, man!" The toxic waste scene still sticks with me to this day. I saw it at the local cinema at only 9 years old with a friend.
The way ROBOCOP picked him up after he fell off, you can feel the VENGEANCE in Him 😤
1:43 the way robocop's walking down toward emile SO BADASS!!
Robocop is Knight of 20th century
Basil epic sound hits…”I know you! You’re dead! We killed you! We killed you!!!” Chills every time. They don’t make movies like this anymore…
one of the most iconic scenes in films
Such a great movie, when practical effects rules the cinema.
One of the darkest movies but its genius.
¡Es mi parte preferida y me gusta mucho gracias!!👍😊
This was a very powerful part of the movie. The villains in this movie were great!
Classic scene.
“Drop it!” Never gets old
Best movie for kids born in 1985 for proper mental development.
Murphy start to remember himself
How did they shoot that motorcycle crash at 1:40? Was that a dummy?
1:32......I know Robo's targeting is good but christ, to hit a moving target gaining distance with a sidearm while said target is moving AT SPEED and presenting minimal aspect is still impressive for a machine!!
1:28 ... see Shell logo to turn into Hell... awesome
I’m glad he was able to clean his act up and become an ER Doctor
He certainly needed a doctor after driving his van into the toxic waste
Just the year after this he turned himself around and became a deputy in the Blob.
What a film 😮
Hermosa escena inmortal
no one can match those sideburns, directors like Paul Verhoeven simply don't exist today ( if they do i can't find them )
What about Quentin Tarantino? Isn’t he supposed to be similar to Paul Verhoeven?
They both use extreme graphic violence for humor.
I'd say Nicolas Winding Refn is also inspired by Verhoeven. He was also linked to making a RoboCop remake once
esta película es una obra maestra
That boy got there fast my with a lil danger keeping calm can do
Wtf? Is that even English?
Naw it’s Ebonics fool
The flashback after it just happening seconds before is very anime lol -- but here it works and isn't cheesy.
This line is impressive. As an aside, in Japanese it was translated as follows.
「殺してでも連行する。」
I hope Rogue City has flashbacks and we get to see Clarence voiced by Kurtwood Smith since they got Peter to do Murphy.
Thumbs here who see this movie in VHS 📼!
Paul McCrane went a long way from "Fame" to this...
Strange he didn't get more parts than this - and the warden in "Shawshank"...
Ah, but you forgot the role he is likely best-known for - the brilliant but disliked surgeon Dr. Robert "Rocket" Romano on the TV show "ER"
@@jsrosa1282 Ok, good for him. Never watched it myself.
Peter Weller is Robocop and Michael Keaton is Batman and Harrison Ford is Indy... nobody can chanche that
Yep right on point thank you 👍👍👍
The one thing I’m disappointed about in the remake is they didn’t alter his voice like this robo cop, his voice was awesome
I'm convinced that Emil is the grandson of Yosemite Sam 😂
I was watching the scene in Solar Opposites Season 2 Episode 1, where Pupa gets freaked out by this part, and I had to come watch it myself.
Love this movie.
I love this ford Taurus
This scene is fascinating on so many levels but what I never understood is that why Emil didn't tell anybody that HEY REMEMBER THAT COP WE SHOT DOWN, WELL GUESS WHAT HE'S BACK AS AN ALMOST INDESTRUCTIBLE CYBORG?!!!! 👀👀👀😂😂
If Emil wouldn't have messed around with the service attendant he would have got away with the money and free fuel.

when the gas station blew up the sign went from shell to hell
Deadpool reference to that line bringed me there. Who else?
i wonder if college boy escaped far enough to get clear of the explosion
I think he did.
He did
Graham Bauer vs Christopher Henderson 😅 ( 24 )
I love the poses. And the acting in general is very good.
Классика....
Rip college kid
What do you mean RIP?
He ran outside before the station explodes
The most unrealistic thing in the movie is a cigarette igniting gasoline.
You mean you accept modern medicine could transplant a guys brain, spinal cord and face to a walking police robot?
I'm talking to you!
Drop it!
1:10
Funny that Paul McCrane was only about 25 when hewas in this movie but looks like he's in his late 30's in it.
And he was in his late 30s when he was playing Romano on "ER."
😍😍😍😍
This is why I’d rather vape.
это жосткий райц он кингстон
i remember watching a robo cop movie when i was 11 and the guy's name was murphy but it seemed more recent than this or it's just what i imagine
There was a remake of this movie. But the original movie is considered a cult classic.
Robocop is cool and all, but there’s no way in hell he would stand even a fraction of a chance against a T-800.
How the hell did the gangster know he was Murphy? His entire face except for his mouth is covered and his voice is robotic
same line "dead or live you're coming with me" plus his voice still sounds like murphy's
The dark side of Inspector Gadget?
Hold on... So this guy recognized who Robocop was just by the lower half of his face? That's a little much, isn't it?
It was his voice and same threat.
No he recognized him because as a human before getting ‘killed’ ( in reality his brain never died so he never really died) he tried to arrest the same guy saying the same phrase
WHO are you?
WHO ARE YOU!?
Elvin klain.
Terminator 1 and 2. Robocop 1 and 2. Batman 1 and 2. Die Hard 1 and 2. Predator 1 and 2. Lethal Weapon 1 and 2. Action movies RULED back in the day...🔥🔥🔥🔥❤❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥🔥🌎🌎🌎🌎🎯🎯🎯🎯💣💣💣💣😆😆😆
0:42 That actor did such a great job with his facial expressions at recognizing Robocop. I hope someone noticed.
Not just his facial expressions it’s subtle but he lowers the gun a little, almost like he’s letting his guard down before catching himself
Well yeah because Emil remembers what Murphy said to him at the steel mill when he was still human before Clarence and company offed him . thus that’s why Emil said ?…..you’re dead we killed you as in like how the hell could you have survived death when we pretty much killed you
Well, you know what they say. The dead never stay quiet. Emile was shocked because he thought he was seeing a ghost.
The actor was also in hotel new Hampshire and fame
Paul McCrane, he played one of the main characters on the tv show ER. He was also one of the prison guards during the famous rooftop scene in Shawshank Redemption and was the kid in the full bodycast in the wheelchair who Rocky meets outside the hospital in Rocky 2.

Classic movie in every way. The tone, acting, music, piece of art.
Every scene is brutally violent but plot-essential. Robocop is just so awesome
It's a masterpiece
Robocop "DROP IT!!!!! Dead or alive your coming with me". One of the best films of all time.
So True
2:09 I love how he just drops Emil like he’s a trash bag 😂😂😂
Which he is
This scene has so much subtext to it. The low buzzing symbolizing the machine and then when the music changes, Murphy is coming back to live and he realizes he is human. This is also when the buzzing is slowly fading away until at the end of the movie, it's completely gone and Murphy is back. Such a master piece of a movie. I have always loved it.
I absolutely LOVE how his voice becomes less and less metallic. Such a masterpiece movie.
That music shift added in 0.44 is so perfectly linked with his expression of realization.
0:44
This classic movie has so many memorable scenes.
I think I've watched this movie 1000+ times love the action and dark tone
He recognized Robocop. Maybe he could help who Batman or Superman is. 😉🤣
He only recognized the officer because of the spoken line...
@@XCT82 Exactly ..100 percent correct ..
1:51 the music, the walk and the way he lifts him! I wonder if it was some camera trick or practical effect, it looks effortless, exactly the way a cyborg would handle a human.
I'd say they possibly removed some frames and then sped it up.
I remember watching this movie as a kid. Many times over. I loved it. Now 20 years later YT is popping those short scenes from it for me, I watch them, and I am astounded at how good that movie was. The screenplay, the execution, the actors, the backgrounds and cinematography... Stellar.
So badass seeing Robocop calmly walk out of that fire @ 1:34 unhurt. Now that is what i call *HOT!!* 🤭
and if you pay extra attention, when the gas station explodes first goes the letter S from the SHELL making it spell "HELL" 😁
Movie older than me but still the best Robocop movie ever to this day
Robocop just looks badass man
If you pause at the right moment at 1:28-1:29. Notice the SHELL sign, the S gets blown off first so its only HELL
Nice catch!
This is so great because the key moment of recognition/realisation in the interaction between the two men is about memory and instinct, first from Emil and then from Murphy. Memory and instinct are organic (in this case human) capabilities, and unlike the other facets of Robocop’s reconstruction they can’t be so easily replicated by OCP’s advanced technology and robotics.
I miss the 80's and early 90's really bad and am not kidding.
1:39-1:42
THAT is why you should always wear a helmet when you ride a motorcycle. Otherwise you can hurt yourself really bad.
Eyup. Even the smallest crash can be potentially fatal, if trauma happens in a specific head spot.
Which is kinda impressive: our skull is quite strong but at the same time, delicate. GOTTA KEEP IT SAFE.
@@-Vitalis-the skull do have certain weak spots though like next to the eyes and I think close to the ears. Forehead though nah that part is thick
He hit that car super hard lol
Fr I don’t remember his body flying off like that😂
@@Mr.E22 Emil should've wished he died right there because he suffered a far more gruesome fate near the end of the film lol
One time In life I feel satisfied watching someone die
He didn’t die in this scene
@@zt1053 he meant later in the factory
@zt1053 every other comment is reminiscing about Emils failed attempt to become the Toxic Avenger.
And Emil said something complacent or over confident or something like. Yes. I got you now robodweeb (probably a cartoonish interpretation).
So anyways. Both (or technically all 3) lines delivered very well by McCrane.
This movie has the BEST VILLIANS
Emilio incriminated himself and his team, and didn't realize he was being recorded.
“ DROP IT!” With the thugs reaction of silence.. so much energy
You're dead! We killed you!
Huge fan of this movie 🎉
