@@xxMidnightBonesxx I don't think they musically fell, they just stopped playing rock, it's more of a music taste thing, so you don't like the newer songs, but the songs aren't bad.
the first verse and chorus especially hit me so hard with nostalgia (and i didnt even know them till 2016 or so :D) its just so indescribably beautiful.
This song gave me nostalgia feeling the first time I ever heard it! Just one of those songs. I feel that for very few things in life, but the early Arctic Monkeys songs definitely do it
One of the many reasons why I fell in love with them is this song and this version in particular. I prefer this one than the album version. Reminds me of my morning walks gazillion years ago listening to this song with no care in the world, everytime, back then :)
look how young and cute he sounds! i like fetus alex better to be honest. makes me want to slap his glasses off and give him a jogger! just listen how he says ''cuddles'' adorable as fugde
Because it makes you remember cuddles in the kitchen? This song used to make me cry too. She left at christmas 2013. Your comment is a year old now, hope you can enjoy this wonderful song with dry eyes now like me :)
so ok... i was trying to understand the story of the monkeys but I don't get it.. beneath the boardwalk wasn't an album right? it was more like demos for people to hear through the internet... which happen to later be part of some of their albums?
Yeah. Beaneath the boardwalj was a demo "album" of sorts that was named based on where the original sender recieved it, under a boardwalk. This demo was released in 2002 and their first debut album was released in 2008. Then they used these songs, sung by their old vocalist (whose name escapes me currently) sung by alex.
@@dominickkramer6469 Wrong. Glyn Jones used to be the vocalist during 2002 but Alex Turner has been the vocalist and main writer for the Arctic monkeys since 2003 (year that Beneath The Boardwalk was recorded) , debut album (Whatever people say I am that's what I'm not) came out in 2006. This was a CD given out at gigs and received the name Beneath the Boardwalk because it was given to a fan, who named it that, at a pub called The Boardwalk, in Sheffield. The demo was never released officially, it was given out for free to fans at their gigs before they had made an album or EP. Then the fans uploaded the songs onto the internet where they went viral.
Imagine being this young and writing one of the best songs ever written.

This version of Mardy Bum has just blindsided me.
As I pressed play I uncontrollably started crying my heart out. WTF.

Yes!! You're so right!
He's not fucking 16 anymore he's 33
@@danielyourestillachad5542 lmao
sheslostcontrol He’s bound to be a bit different
I'm pretty sure he would beat the living shit out of you for slapping his glasses off so I wouldn't recommend you trying to do that
It was this very version of this very song which kickstarted life at 15.
I love how more rawer this version is. Alex's young voice is crazy
Am I the only one who likes these recordings more than the later ones?
2:39 the way he sings 'on a day like today when you're all...' 😳
This sounds leaps and bounds better than the album version.
oh my days- they sounded so cute when they were younger i'm crying, this is amazing
love both versions!

This version is still the best.
Better than the album version so raw great tune
This version is definitely better than the album one
Anybody happens to know a version of Mardy Bum where Alex screams louder at 2:06?
I'm sure I've heard it somewhere, but I can't find it now.

sweeet dmn! I love this band. their earlier and present sounds both. Gosh i am freaking right now, i love them so much.
@themariianna3 The album version. To be fair this came first so this is the original. The album version sounds cleaner and better recorded.
colosalblack that’s because this is a demo
For a weird reason, I always loved the demo versions of their songs more.
Argumentative!
'The very pleasant side I prefer'
