Being former law enforcement, I would file a trespassing report. They may have similar crimes to which the guy is a viable suspect. Even if you don’t intend to pursue charges, you create documentation in case something happens down the line. Also, his photograph can be distributed during rollcall briefing so officers will know and some may recognize him if he is a frequent customer. Who knows, you may end up in a confrontation, and this prior documentation may help you both criminally and civilly. I would also print his photograph with a flyer and post them on local store billboards. He may see himself, and it will play with him psychologically.

I've had a problem recently with folks from the city coming on to my area looking for "scrap". They say scrap, but what they mean is anything of value they can drive off with when you are paying attention... propane tanks, tractor implements etc.. Had one guy pull up my driveway and start walking towards by barn when I stepped outside to introduce myself. Showed him each of the posted signs he "didn't see" as well as a couple of my security cameras as I escorted him back to his vehicle. I took a photo of him, his vehicle and his license plate before telling him to never step foot on my property again. I then texted all of the photos to my neighbors.
Its a shame that just one knucklehead can spoil the peace and solitude we try to create for ourselves. Unfortunately I don't see it getting better anytime soon.

I'm astounded by the audacity of some of these people. Camera's, posted signs, locked gates and they just walk on up. Do they not realize how easy it would be for them to be "un-alived" for a few dollars worth of stuff? I can't understand the thought process. Thanks, William for watching.

Cover light with bark dust or the like. I promise you when shitbags step on them thru their shoes, they'll do damage enough to possibly send 'em to the doc. I am sure not going to make light of this BUT it could be a hunter. I KNOW it is private property. I once confronted a man who looked very similar on my property carrying a .22 rifle. He had five or six squirrels on his belt. I happened to see him and confronted him. He was a very simple man and apologized to me. He told me he was going to fry the young squirrels and make squirrel dumplings out of the older ones. I told him I don't mind him hunting squirrels but he needs to call me first. He didn't even own a cell phone. I would be very careful if you approach the man. It might, or might not, be like my confrontation.
