Nah... Steph and LeBron has been the face of the league and they haven't found a replacement. Those who were considered next are those who haven't won. Luka has never been considered next. Jokic has been considered the best player of the league for at least 2 years now. He's was never even considered. Mitchell, Ja, Tatum, Brunson, Ant, and others have been considered next in line at 1 time or another. What do these players have in common?
The only non-American who got a debate on the matter was Giannis AFTER he won, but no pundit on T.V was willing to put a stamp on that.
#1 criteria - American born
#2 criteria - It helps to be black
#3 criteria - Game must resemble 1 of the greats
Luka is the only guy under the age of 27 that can legitimately be compared to Lebron and Steph. Him and Jokic should already be considered the face of the league, but the media won't allow that.

Luka is unguardable. Took care of the Clippers in 6. Was no 4 seed. Buried the top seed in the Western Conference in 6 and now eliminated the Timberwolves in 5. Will be a blockbuster NBA Finals series. But I reckon it’ll go the distance. Possibly the first Game 7 to be played in the NBA Finals since 2016

Good thing is Luka has the chance to take on one of the NBA’s most storied clubs (Celtics). And let’s not forget Kyrie Irving here. He does has some unfinished business with Boston. Add how both teams match up against each other, I certainly can see the First Game 7 in the NBA Finals to be played for the first time since 2016.
