And this is why I have so much confidence in EIP! The level of professionalism and guidance you provide is invaluable, Natalia. Thank you so much for making this video!
I've paused this video many times to take notes. Thank you for helping us be professional with our stories. Would you please provide an example of a stylesheet? I've just started a novel and want to be consistent and helpful with my first editor.
Okay,, thank you for the tips. I need to go back and format for editing (put out harrumph). I had been following your guidance for formatting from a previous video for Amazon publishing. There is so much doggone stuff to learn. But at least this will help me in the long run when I submit for editing. Keep up the good work!
I've been trying to find a editor for the last two weeks. 🤦🏽🤦🏽🤦🏽 This video definitely helped seeing the only thing I needed to correct was my font size. Thank you for taking the time to record these videos.
Woo my head is spinning lol so much info but good info! I'm so excited to go through and correct for easier editing, not just for me but for my future editor. Thank you!
I've been looking into adding text message boxes in my book, that might be a good topic to cover in a short video, and you might be the first on RUclips to post on it.
I love that you threw shade at your sister! So funny! Thank you so much for all the help in this video. I just found you and will definitely be watching more!
Could you make a video going over what the differences are in editing service packages and why an author may need one more than an another? I get a general idea, but I'd love your opinion on what are editing service packages self-published authors should not pass on
Natalia, firstly Merry Christmas. I am working on a nonfiction book which will have a lot of sources so is it better to have footnotes (some pages may have 10 or more of 3 or 4 lines each which could take up a lot or real-estate on a page even if the font size is considerably smaller), end notes at the end of the chapter or have all the end notes at the end of the book. Personally when I am reading a work of nonfiction I prefer end notes at the end of the chapters. Keep up the great work.
Love the videos, thank you so much for them!! I would love to know how you come up with your book titles!! For me it’s been one of the hardest parts of the writing process!!
I wouldn't suggest it unless you have a very specific reason for mixing the spelling conventions or are adhering to Canadian English, which favors a mix of American and British spelling.
Just curious: I agree that using manual tabs or spaces for formatting is evil, but that is based on my personal preferences. I do not understand nor heard an explanation for why those would hamper an editor? I was expecting the author's and editor's style guide to be a part of their style sheets.
I mean, I’m paying my editor, why should I adapt to their tools? They should be able to edit in Google Docs (which is free) if that’s what an author works in vs. making Google/Mac users pay for an MS office subscription just to see their edits. I’ve sent plenty of .docx files to people for files I only expect them to read, but if fewer and fewer people actually write in Word isn’t it kind of unprofessional for an editor to not support the most common alternative on the market?
Natalia Leigh namaste...! and 😊 have a good day 😊, You well settled in book 📖 writing process and publishing that's a good time 🌃 for me, because of I had been seen your bad time but that is not important to us it's always happens in life, we should struggle with any situation and get success until not satisfied and you have been provided it. #SUBHASH.
indentation with spaces or tab sounds like a nightmare thankfully deleting that is easy to delete in word edit: how many words does goddes of limbo has? :o

Thank you. A wonderful and timely "instruction."
Thanks for all of the guidance. So much I hadn't thought of to consider when submitting to an editor.
Thanks again for another video on
how to prepare my Manuscript for
an Editor.
Thanks for your help with making this video!!! Formatting is my main concern....many many thanks ☺️😊!!!
This video is going to help a lot of new writers.
and old. Its not my first time but it has been several years since I last did this, and I must say this was more than a refresher.
Now I know what to do when I submit my manuscript to y’all! Super helpful! Thanks 🙏🏽
I write in notes on my iPhone
Great video Natalia.

Thanks for the tips. Reading Pistol Daisy and enjoying it.
Excellent! Thanks for your help, Natalia!

Awesome video! Super helpful! Thank you!
I am glad that I saw this today. It gives me a better idea of what I should have submitted or will in the near future.
Tremendous, informative and detailed review. You know your stuff! You will be on my shortlist when choosing an editor. Many thanks.
This is so helpful as usual 🤗
I wrote my book. How to protect it when sending to formatters and further editors?
So practical and helpful! Great to know all this before I even think about sending my MS off to an editor.
This is a good video and some healthy advice.... TY ❤
Thank you for this video. Very helpful!
This was so helpful. First time author here and this video was gold!
I've been looking into adding text message boxes in my book, that might be a good topic to cover in a short video, and you might be the first on RUclips to post on it.
Another great video!!!
Matte books is where it’s at 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 great information. Thank you
Ah, you're a matte books person?! Can we still be friends after this? 😉 I used to like matte but now much prefer glossy.
That was so full of helpful info! Needing a hard copy before I approach a proof reader was indeed helpful.
as always very useful
Ctrl + Enter is a Page break short cut.
How did I not know this? *mind blown*
That was awesome. I kinda want you to work on my book when it's ready.
You are so helpful! Thank you!!! How do we format simple frames for the photos in our Word book? Thank you.
I love that you threw shade at your sister! So funny! Thank you so much for all the help in this video. I just found you and will definitely be watching more!
Great work. Thanks.
I think people like the feel of the mat covers plus I think the color is better on them.
Eek, not me! I prefer the feel of the glossy covers. And I think the glossy covers are much more vibrant than the matte. To each their own!
hey Natalia, how would you format a little poetry passage in a fiction book manuscript?
Love watching videos by Natalia. Well, is there some video on poems book formatting and all?
Hi, thank you for your tips. I have one question. Do you need to push space ones after a word, or twice? Thank you.
Thank you so much for this
Could you do a video on how to write ( format ) a good letter to your editor and make a style sheet?
Could you make a video going over what the differences are in editing service packages and why an author may need one more than an another? I get a general idea, but I'd love your opinion on what are editing service packages self-published authors should not pass on
Yes, I can absolutely do this! Thanks for the request!
Thoughts on setting up with pages on Mac? Or stick with word?
For a nonfiction book, is my bibliography included with the manuscript and if so, how do I prepare that? My WIP is a historical critical biography.
Could you describe the different types of editing
Natalia, firstly Merry Christmas. Do you use PerfectIt or something like it for catching inconsistencies?
So then when you submit writings it has to be the whole book not parts?
Would it be wise to send, just
the first chapter of my to an editor?
Great info. I want to cry now because I have so much to do. I just wanted to tell a story. Now I need meds for my anxiety.
How about underlines or italics
Is it okay to have a mix of American and British spellings?
I wouldn't suggest it unless you have a very specific reason for mixing the spelling conventions or are adhering to Canadian English, which favors a mix of American and British spelling.
@NataliaLeigh What about Libre Office?
She looks like a literal Elven Princess
What genres do you guys edit over there?
We copy edit all genres and have editors who can critique both fiction and nonfiction. Thanks for asking!
Are you a editor?
i need an editor!!
Just curious: I agree that using manual tabs or spaces for formatting is evil, but that is based on my personal preferences. I do not understand nor heard an explanation for why those would hamper an editor?
I was expecting the author's and editor's style guide to be a part of their style sheets.
What is your website?
The next book I send you guys is gonna be hand written in maple syrup
Sounds tasty! 🍁 🤣 I'll bring the waffles!

LOL your sister doesn't like the way you drink tea and doesn't like your thumbnails?
She's just jealous! 😂 jk, anyway, great vid!

👌👌👌
I respectfully disagree with having to send them a certain format. I'm paying them so I think they can convert it, it's not hard for them to do.

edit: how many words does goddes of limbo has? :o
GoL has about 200k words. It was an amazing project to work on!
@@NataliaLeigh oh, nice hahah my WIP is currently like 340K so i was curious, since GoL seems to be huge... ahhaha
Lots of good advice? but the delivery? too much high rising terminal? I'm getting uptalk toxicity?
