    It's hard to believe you got that great of a deal. The school house is beautiful! I can see how it will become even more beautiful after renovations. You have a future BEAUTIFUL home, a double garage, a wonderful barn and 3 acres. You could sell the mobile later. Y'all came out smelling like a whole bouquet of roses. WOW WOW WOW !!! The thing that stumps me is.......how on God's green earth could u possibly have thought u were a failure or made a mistake?????????????????????

    I was looking at a very old church to turn into a store front and home ....until I found out it was registered with the historical society and I could only restore it and not make any changes. That school house is a perfect main ingredient to anything you want to make of it. Don't let things get in the way of your dreams. Good score.

    WHAT!!!$54,000??? That's amazing. To be perfectly honest it feels like this entire place was waiting for you. I don't know about the town but right now it feels like this is where you should be. Even if 1/3 of your hopes come true it would be a success. Like you guys said it's not going to be easy but working toward the end result will surely make this a home the children will remember and love always. Congratulations to you two! I can hear your imaginations going wild.

    Absolutely amazing! As others have said, I was not expecting the school house. Congratulations!!! Now you have the opportunity to live in the mobile home while you take your time and construct the perfect forever home for you and your family. I definitely see the potential for a third floor loft at the far end with two bedrooms up there for the kids! Lots of potential...limited only by your imagination. All the best as you move forward. Looking forward to watching your adventure. Be well, Don

      Thank you, The opportunity to live on the property while working on the building is great. We are really tired of living in a house while working on it. This will be so much less stressful and allows us to work at our own pace.

    • @donabele1243
      @donabele1243 6 лет назад +2

      The mobile home appears to only need some cosmetic work and some TLC and it will be a comfortable place to live while you two create your dream next door - at your pace. Having lived through MANY in-place renovations, I know how much they take a toll on everybody. From watching your videos, it was apparent that the two of you stressed the renovation of your last house and the selling/buying process that followed. All of that has now paid off with an amazing property with TONS of potential. Relax a little, settle in, and start the dreaming process for what's to come. Again, I cannot wait to see where life takes you and thank you for allowing us to follow along. Be well, Don

    One word COOL! I can't wait to hear about the history of the school and what a place to hit with a detector. Even if it's been hit by other detectorist there is always something to find. The outside of the school looked in very good condition, the inside looked as if someone got in over the heads trying to fix it up. It would be great if you could find some pictures of the inside and outside of the building when it was an active school, perhaps a local historical archive of even an active alumni association. I would think that someone in the area had parents of grand parents that might have attended there. Congratulations on your find!!!

  • @kkoup35
    @kkoup35 6 лет назад +3

    Yeah!!!!! I hate to say this but initially I was really disappointed to see the mobile home. I thought your new place would have more charm than your last place. However, you were so excited I certainly didn’t want to rain on your parade. You were looking for some acreage so that alone made the realty pickings ‘slim’. Regardless you were excited and you can definitely still do a lot with that little place.
    However - THIS is more what I was hoping for you!!! Now I’m excited for you AND the building! What a totally cool, cool place. The exposed joists and bricks are awesome - personally I would leave some of the brick walls exposed.
    I think you got a fantastic deal!! Whatever decision you made is the right one for YOU (no one else’s opinion really matters)! The school house would make a unique home (not unlike some old churches that people redo). Maybe that’s right for your family and maybe it isn’t - you decide. We’ll all be watching your progress and cheering you on from the sidelines. Even if you end up NOT making it a home you’ll still leave it in better shape than you found it - you’re saving a little bit of local history for future generations so that’s commendable.

    You asked us if you guys made the right decision. Honestly, its your decision and nobody can answer that but you guys. My opinion is that its a great idea, because it makes you guys happy. I would love love the opportunity to tackle that school house as a project. Could you imagine it as a home. You could break that big room down to several rooms. In fact, you could break the project down into segments. I would figure a way to make the bell tower into a spiral step leading up into a reading loft. I am excited to see what you guys end up doing. And I am really excited to watch the metal detecting videos of the property. You should do one soon.

    You guys! That is such an amazing find~! You did fantastic. What a great price and the entire place is absolutely perfect for your family. No that you belong in a 1979 mobile home, but that's just temporary. That land and that old school, barn, and garage could not be in better hands because you are they types who anything you touch you only do so to IMPROVE. I can totally see that school becoming your family home and what an epic place for your kids to grow up in, and bring their families to on future holidays, and someday add their own changes and finishing touches to when it becomes theirs. In my mind, y'all are there, busy everyday, blissfully making every inch of it your own, well into the future. Congratulations are in order! I couldn't be happier for you both and your sweet family.

    Thats beautiful truly so great to see it in your realiable hands you can tell it was done with longevity and true craftmanship it would be amazing to see it eventually resurrected by you guys all it needs is good elbow grease and loving touch the bones of it is beautiful and you cant buy character like that nowadays. Even architects dont have the same simplistic yet masterful hand as those of the previous centuries.
    I imagine when shes brought to life again itll be a true dream to see. Even if you dont restore everything or choose to modernise the insides while still keeping the historic features itll be amazing. Imagine living in such a place? Who else can say the same? A rare and enchanting experience. Wish you guys the best of luck looking forward to seeing the progress you make and more so the property in spring/summer. As an aussie its still bizarre to me how the world up top seems to stand still in winter when here theres no real break in the year that forces you to slow down or stop and relax inside. Although i suppose our brutal summers make everything run more sluggishly to make up for our year round growing season. It be nice if you could find some antique pieces from the buildings era to pull it together and hightlight its charm. If you did install a bell you could use it to call in livestock to feed or the family for dinner? Haha seems cute.

    Metal detecting, yes! Also consider looking for the outhouse and doing a privy dig. Seriously!

    Wow !!! The school house is awesome. It would make a cool house or a place for a business. And I bet that school yard is rich in old coins. I was going to ask if the scaffolding came with it but you answered my question. That will be useful on the outside too. Please watch the kids around the holes in the floor. I think you've got your selves a winner.

    I’m so happy for you guys. This is totally a lifetime home with the land and houses all your dreams can come true. I’m surprised at the price. I really think that was a good price for that. It’s a lot of work but it’s going to be great in the end.

Wow, just think of your smarts of purchasing your new home and what I got for my $54,000 dollars a Toyota Tundra. You did fantastic!!!!!!!!!

    Wow! What a surprise! Good job keeping that building hidden in your last two videos! That place has so many possibilities! It's going to make a beautiful home. I'm a retired construction superintendent, and I wish I was there to help! Lol! Congratulations, you two! You deserve it! Your friend in Seattle.

    I only discovered your channel a week ago, and I have been binge watching your videos. So I know a lot of the work you have done to the mobile home, and that you are hoping the property sells soon. I was soooo curious about the school building, and I was pleased to find this tour. I agree.... that is the most awesome thing in 15 counties! I love old buildings like that and dream of living in them. You may be doing this already, but even though you have completely fixed the mobile home, the school may be key to selling the property. One way to describe the property is a charming historical old school building ripe for updating into an elegant home, and there is a nice mobile home on the property which is in immaculate condition that the buyer can live in while renovating the school. I can see why you bought that land. It is soooo awesome! And I enjoyed seeing what you started with. You two are an amazing team, and you do exceptional work! Good Luck!
