I'm not that against the idea of selling for that price BUT the fact that people defend that even if you had the best version of P3R, You STILL have to pay is crazy. Like, I get it, Persona 3 is awesome, we love more content, but anytime you bring the fact that 35 dollars is a bit much they get quite annoying. I read some people calling broke to other people that wanted to wait for a sale, or that it's a 30 hour dlc, so the peice is justified (even though most of the time you will surely spent it grinding, and if you don't, Congrats, that stops being a 30 hour dlc) At least Joker is cool

I think the reason I enjoyed episode aigis in reload boils down to fully knowing what to expect when going into it. I played the answer in fes, and I was interested in the little changes and additions reload would make. it delivered on that, but that's all it really did. nothing outstanding or anything, just episode aigis but reload, and ig I'm happy with that
Yeah Metis is one of those characters who don't leave a good impression at her introduction. But knowing what she truly is at the end of the Answer in the old game and seeing her new interactions with the cast in Reload made me like Metis more.
Honestly I thought Métis made a great first impression. I was immediately intrigued by her opening combat sequence and then immediately fell in love with her personality once she joined the team
The guns get an upgrade pretty early in the game where if you run long enough and then shoot, you automatically get an advantage in battle even if you face the enemy forwards. This was also with the sword as an optional upgrade but it worked better with the guns because you can shoot it from a distance
I feel like people take the Aswer for granted. If it didn't exist we wouldn't know what happened to the mc, did Aigis know he was dying in her lap, did the others know he was going to die, how do they deal with it, what'll happen to the dorm now that the fighting is over
The gameplay in Reload is a lot smoother and I specifically think the daytime portion with the social sim was a huge improvement, but man the art direction. It's baffling that Atlus is fine with and emphasises stylisation with their menus, but none of that translates to making cinematic, remotely abstract cutscenes. Especially since they already had the original scenes to base off of, they just had to make them less choppy at parts.
I'm hoping the expansion pass goes on sale at some point and grab it then. I do want to eventually play The Answer, it just isn't a high priority for me
For me, having only cleared 2 paths, Episode Aigis is more fascinating than it is fun. I can see where they do various things to tie up the loose ends that previously led to the social sim half of the game, and I see how some basic elements of P3R hold the experience together as well. The Arcana Burst means there's still something to lose by clocking out and some push to "clear this block today". The way the Monad doors now come in multiple tiers introduces an extra trade-off that you aren't afraid to take because even if you end up running out of SP you aren't losing as much progress. Random stats on loot make it interesting to go for hard Monads even if you have beaten them before. The Vermillion Clock consuming Twilight Shards is actually my favorite card duplication facility (even if I was really excited at the beginning when I thought there was no such facility at all and individual cards actually mattered). I actually rather like how Aigis's guns make her engage with the terrain and Shadows instead of just rushing through the floors and bowling over everything in her way. And the Compendium carryover deserves a special mention, since this is such a good way of doing it that I feel it should be the standard way of doing NG+ Compendiums moving forward. But knowing how much of this wasn't in FES, I struggle to understand what the structural idea behind all of this was. The P3R version already plays heavily into the theme of loss and grief by cutting half the game off and having Elizabeth stumble over basic advice, but was the Tactics-based combat really enough to carry the game in a completely unadulterated form?
For me, I didn't like both the old and the new versions, at least the new one lets me control my team, that's the only positive I can think of between the two
The whole point of The Answer was to clear up P3's ending. It's easy to forget that P3's ending was very ambiguous about what happened to MC at the end. Did he die? Did he just fall asleep? Why? The Answer was hastily slapped together to provide, well, an answer to this, and as a result has always felt a bit unneccessary and half-assed compared to the original game. This version feels much the same as the original, half-assed and unneccessary.
once the hype died down I realized p3r really just is a modernized p3fes (there are not really any significant gameplay or story changes from p3fes) and yeah some of the soul is lost but it's okay for keeping the overall feel of p3 despite the new presentation. we were hoping for an 'ultimate' remake with the female protagonist route included as well as the answer (improved) and the ability to control party members, so what we got wasn't ever going to fully meet our expectations as soon as we knew there would only be the one route. I wonder if the pacing in the answer improved a little. It seems like it.
I finished it yesterday and enjoyed everything, I went in knowing it was just the dungeon crawling and really enjoyed my hard playthrough, not worth $35 but it was really fun!
Quite a few of the things you talk about do get addressed down the line, like why Metis is the way she is, and how Aigis' shooting mechanic in the dungeon works But the major issue, as you said, is simply that there's nothing to alternate reverse Tartarus with. So it gets super dull. And this of course never gets fixed in any way And yes, the Xbox app sucks, but getting this on Steam is a whopping $105 total. With Xbox, you can essentially "rent" the whole thing for cheap (three months of Game Pass Ultimate goes for around $35 at select third party sellers), which is super nice for those of us who plan to finish the game off and not revisit it anytime soon Definitely worth putting up with the clunkiness of the stupid Xbox app and its related store app

Yukari has been intensely toned down specifically because of that fan reaction. Other party members as well have certain scenes where they act a bit differently due to concern from atlus about fan reaction. If you looked at japanese popularity polls, the difference in Yukari's placement before and after fes was staggering, and I think that's what atlus was afraid might happen again here.
Yeah, it’s repetitive, not in a good way and I rushed through it on the hardest difficulty meaning you don’t carry anything from your previous save file making it chore to go through. Not to mention how easy and exploitative the combat is. If they cut this down to 15 hours I would’ve have not mind and focus more on making unique dungeons instead of using the same 4 dungeons over and over again. Something similar to the palaces in persona 5. The best part of the DLC is the ending, it’s perfect but to get there is such a drag and a waste of 30 bucks. (Got the dlc free btw and I still think it’s not worth that price either) I highly suggested waiting for the re release of this title or a sale. Or just playing the original 🤷
Honestly, P3R and everything that came with it just made me miss FES. The QoL improvements are nice but they got rid of a lot of the roughness that I actually loved it for. It sucks we didn't even get the best version of FES especially when a lot of people were hoping that P3R was the definitive experience with everything anyone ever loved about Persona 3 and all its iterations in one package.
2:12 his hater side to p5 is so strong. So in regards to the plot happening out of nowhere and without reason, since you say you're about 5 hours in: most of those questions are being answered around the ending arc of The Answer (which is also past all the dungeon crawling, though), on the more meta side, people wanted the answer to be remade because it's an integral part of P3's story and especially because the ending clears and explains a lot about P3 and set some lore for P4 and P5 As for metis, she's childish and kinda annoying by design, it's just much more visible now because you're actually playing it and because, like you said, those that played the answer don't really talk about metis much because if you had to explain here you'd easily go into spoiler territory, as for here being an Aigis substitute, I don't really think so, she's designed to be more of a Shinjiro replacement with two elemental skills on top, I also advise not leaving her underleveled around the final dungeon of the game You'll get powerups for Aigis that let her ambush shadows pretty much the classic way, by sprinting even if they're facing towards you and I agree that her guns are not optimal to use while exploring, but they've been massively improved over the original the answer, there you had a variable range that you could not see and the guns would miss the shadows if you were even slightly off-target. Here they miss because of the lock on, but judging off the gameplay in the background, it seems to me that you rely too much on the lock on feature hitting things for you (or in your place) and you forget that actually lining aigis with things matters too Cutscenes and OSTs are subjective, but so far both are faithful to the original versions and I quite like them, the worst offender so far is 3/31 because of that goofy sound effect you mentioned, I also haven't heard the final boss theme yet so that might be another bad rearrangement since it had a lot of loud percussions and Reload always dumbs them down I also don't understand your complaints about the dungeon crawling experience where you say you can't do it over extended periods of time while also praising mainline SMT titles for only being dungeon crawling (I like SMT titles too, just don't understand the reason for the inconsistency), but I guess at least you didn't say the abyss of time looks boring Ultimately those that played the answer and liked it - and honestly it's maybe me and one other person - enjoy it for the focus on dungeon crawling and the story around and after it while everyone else calls it Tartarus simulator and calls it a day. Reload doesn't really change the story but improves a lot on the gameplay that's been made a lot less tedious over the original just by changing the 1more rules and adding the compendium, and that's all I really wanted from a remake
the main issue is the Price. as for the Answer in FES.....was shit. How shit it is the answer now I mean Episode Aigis? is a massive improvement...but still shit. As for certain boss fight in the answer the scene that comes after the boss is way better on the PS2 ver than in Episode Aigis. The new secret boss....is just shit. Another Do as I say or I wipe you out.
I emulated FES and The Answer a few years ago and I thought the high level bullet was point plot and themes were good but the actual scene to scene execution and dialogue were atrocious
I bought the non-Ultimate Game Pass expecting to be able to play this but it is just for Ultimate membership Well, I decided to play Yakuza Kiwami 2 instead 😅🤷♂️
Im like 11 ish hrs in and the biggest issue I have is the lack of social sim, yeah I knew it wasn't there going into it but like you said in the video when you take out half the game it really starts to show its flaws. To me tartarus in p3re is just worse mementos in royal, so having it be the exact same here makes it get tiresome quickly. It would work much better if the abyss of time wasn't just more randomly generated floors that have little substance in, its just a collection of hallways with the same battles over and over making it get boring quickly. To me tartarus only works because its not the whole game so this doesn't rlly work imo
Macca. Macca.Macca.Macca.Macca. Let them Cook. The answer is a huge slow burn that is back loaded. It can put people off when you have no real social sim to balance it out yes. Also I just disagree about the anime scenes in general.
Here are the two issues: 1) those who knew what the Answer was, knew that $35 was a ripoff. Atlus shouldn't have used the Answer like this. 2) those who didn't play the answer, think the Answer works like P5R, or it's like any Persona, with dungeon crawler, and more stuff going on. The Answer is just an extra, like final dungeon, tailored for harder difficulty. It's supposed to be for those who want an extra challenge. So, there you go. If thought the Answer was anything else, you got disappointment. And those that knew, knew it was a ripoff since FES didn't just add the Answer but all the other things you already have in Reload. People still like the Answer because it does a lot more for the characters and explains what happens to the world now and the MC. In fact, it's important for Elizabeth too, but you need to play P4:Ultimax (fighting game) to find out.
Ehh. It's a matter of taste really. I prefer the darker mood but I would not say the people who loved the new one have "Trash Taste" just be cause they didn't like it.
I personally enjoyed the story bits (especially the end) but holy fvck this was tooooo much dungeon scrolling It was so much that I decided to olay in easy mode and just fly through this game I also didnt hate metis, at first i didnt care about her but over time she somewhat grew on me
Aigis' weapons felt awful to use in the answer because they had a set area at a set distance they hit at and you had no idea where it was. Also, I wouldn't call Metis "no weakness and garu and bufu access" the answer's aigis equivalent. She's a unique jack of all trades because she needs to be. Aigis in the journey is really limited in ways I never particularly cared for, as by the time she joins the party I've already created a setup to get buffs going and deal with the different types of physical, but Metis doesn't suffer from that at all, she's one of the only party members who will always have something helpful to do in every fight (at least in the original version of the answer)
I kinda hate the normies who ignored the original, actually good P3 back then but now it's this sloppy remake that sells the most because... people finally noticed that Persona was a good series (when Hashino personally works on it) I really freaking hope ReFantazio won't be ignored as well.

@gamerbeast3616 your either an atlus meat gobbler or a raig baiter
They should've kept the awesome 'butterfly slash' from metis in the dorm cutscene
Let me see a 35 dollar DLC for a 70 dollar game. Yeah how about NOOOOOOOOOO? Just gonna wait till it goes on sale or gets bundled into a Game of the year edition. And even then on sale because I’m not even that big a fan of Persona 3 in the first place.
@@plvto1agree.
Call it out as the scam that it is
For me, im playing it via Gamepass Ultimate(on Xbox)
Just like I did with base P3R... and P5R, P4G and P3P
The only persona game I actually have is P5S via Playstation Plus
@@plvto1 nobody cares
You can get it for free with gamepass permanently.
this ain't winning no game of the year
0:35 The Answer was originally DLC anyways, it was DLC before DLC
7:34 Keep Playing that will all Make Sense Later
So in regards to the plot happening out of nowhere and without reason, since you say you're about 5 hours in: most of those questions are being answered around the ending arc of The Answer (which is also past all the dungeon crawling, though), on the more meta side, people wanted the answer to be remade because it's an integral part of P3's story and especially because the ending clears and explains a lot about P3 and set some lore for P4 and P5
As for metis, she's childish and kinda annoying by design, it's just much more visible now because you're actually playing it and because, like you said, those that played the answer don't really talk about metis much because if you had to explain here you'd easily go into spoiler territory, as for here being an Aigis substitute, I don't really think so, she's designed to be more of a Shinjiro replacement with two elemental skills on top, I also advise not leaving her underleveled around the final dungeon of the game
You'll get powerups for Aigis that let her ambush shadows pretty much the classic way, by sprinting even if they're facing towards you and I agree that her guns are not optimal to use while exploring, but they've been massively improved over the original the answer, there you had a variable range that you could not see and the guns would miss the shadows if you were even slightly off-target. Here they miss because of the lock on, but judging off the gameplay in the background, it seems to me that you rely too much on the lock on feature hitting things for you (or in your place) and you forget that actually lining aigis with things matters too
Cutscenes and OSTs are subjective, but so far both are faithful to the original versions and I quite like them, the worst offender so far is 3/31 because of that goofy sound effect you mentioned, I also haven't heard the final boss theme yet so that might be another bad rearrangement since it had a lot of loud percussions and Reload always dumbs them down
I also don't understand your complaints about the dungeon crawling experience where you say you can't do it over extended periods of time while also praising mainline SMT titles for only being dungeon crawling (I like SMT titles too, just don't understand the reason for the inconsistency), but I guess at least you didn't say the abyss of time looks boring
Ultimately those that played the answer and liked it - and honestly it's maybe me and one other person - enjoy it for the focus on dungeon crawling and the story around and after it while everyone else calls it Tartarus simulator and calls it a day.
I bought the non-Ultimate Game Pass expecting to be able to play this but it is just for Ultimate membership
Well, I decided to play Yakuza Kiwami 2 instead 😅🤷♂️
if you want the full Persona 3 Reload experience you have to spend $105 that is anti consumer bullcrap
The rumoured p4 remake better have actual dungeons and not just hallways I see no reason for it not to
Held off on getting it as much as I loved the base game cause I wanted to get the marvel vs Capcom collection and I can only afford so much right now
It’s exactly what the original answer was. I don’t get what people want.
Macca. Macca.Macca.Macca.Macca.
Let them Cook. The answer is a huge slow burn that is back loaded. It can put people off when you have no real social sim to balance it out yes.
Also I just disagree about the anime scenes in general.
Do not let them cook the answer is the most 5/10, five out ten ive ever seen

Here are the two issues:
1) those who knew what the Answer was, knew that $35 was a ripoff.
This would be a good DLC if it was 15$
Métis hater L
I had fun
I agree with you. Just hate that they have to shove Joker in it for no reason, me personally, I'm tired of P5, lets just move on from it
Honestly putting joker in the answer kinda defeats the purpose of persona 3.
buhuuu go cry about it

Cool review of an answer to aigis also misuru is great waifu 🎉🎉🎉

the lighting in the doorms are good trash take
Ehh. It's a matter of taste really. I prefer the darker mood but I would not say the people who loved the new one have "Trash Taste" just be cause they didn't like it.
Yep agreed it looks fantastic
People realizing that The Answer was never actually that good…
I personally enjoyed the story bits (especially the end) but holy fvck this was tooooo much dungeon scrolling
It was so much that I decided to olay in easy mode and just fly through this game
I also didnt hate metis, at first i didnt care about her but over time she somewhat grew on me
Aigis' weapons felt awful to use in the answer because they had a set area at a set distance they hit at and you had no idea where it was.
I kinda hate the normies who ignored the original, actually good P3 back then but now it's this sloppy remake that sells the most because... people finally noticed that Persona was a good series (when Hashino personally works on it)
I really freaking hope ReFantazio won't be ignored as well.
Who uses "normie" unironically these days?
Persona 3 Portable was my first ever Persona game so I never played the Answer so I'm happy I got a chance to play it now.
I wouldn't call it a sloppy remake. I still like FES the most cause it at least ain't easy as shit like P3R, but I still think that P3FES>P3R>P3>P3P
35$ for mediocre remake of a mediocre extra.
Worst part is this probably gonna sell insanely well.
the remake is not medicore what a horrible take
@@gamerbeast3616 not talking about p3r. Talking about the episode aigis, the remake of the answer, being mediocre
