For sure. Saw what he did at Drake and he was great for the Bulldogs. The continuity due to some of the players coming with him from Drake helps the chemistry.
WV is well coached, and they don’t waste time celebrating over made hoops. They just get their tails back on defense. Meanwhile, Mayo is over celebrating after getting fouled on a missed layup… all that said, that guy Mayo is gonna be a problem all year for KU. I’m glad we got this game out of the way early on in the year.
Kansas and Duke have the worst home officiating in favor of the home team in the history of college basketball. Pathetic! It's so rare to pull off a 3 point win or less for the visiting team at KU because they almost always cheat you out of the victory.
KU players handcheck the whole game and the refs never call it. Then when they go on the road or in tournament for an early round exit it's called and they cry like a spoiled baby. EMAW
As a long time WVU fan, seeing this happen I literally cried. Straight up. Huggs got so close a few times but could never close the deal. With last year being a disaster, seeing this team compete, fight, and claw their way to a hard-earned victory is incredible. I hope we can build off of this, and make some noise in the Big 12. Great job to Darian DeVries and the entire staff and players. Being down 2 of our best players, and all the issues getting to Kansas and not letting that get in the way of this is just incredible to see.
Huggs had a clause in his contract that earned him a $50K bonus for a win over KU, I think he collected 4 bonuses for wins in Morgantown only. He donated the money to his mother's foundation for cancer research.

Dickinson is too slow footed to be playing defense at the top of the key. Offense just goes around him way too consistently. Put him down low where his height, his only true asset, makes the difference. Where are the other transfer scorers? Thank goodness for Mayo.
Take away the refs who always play as 6th man at the fog and wvu comes away with a double digit win. But hey, I'm just happy we FINALLY escaped with the W. It's long overdue.

Something does NOT seem right about that ranking after wins over Gonzaga and Arizona too. All we can do is win the next one and keep winning one at a time.
