Tango, there are three things that cause you trouble by mixing them up (in addtion to not seeing what customers consume) 1) Customer order bubbles 2) Dishes already delivered (and customers consuming them) 3) Dishes you put additionally on the table (although customer did not ask for them) Especially a correctly delivered Latte may easily be confused with a customer wish (looks similar as it is relatively large, round, and white). Btw I love the PlateUp! episodes ☕
@@TangoTek2 I noticed that you had a really nasty negative feedback loop where you incorrectly placed sugar on the table, thought that sugar was them asking for sugar, then tried to deliver even more sugar :P
Turn on Colorblind mode. I'm not saying your Colorblind, but the accessibility function on this game is great. It uses initials of each food or drink item within the bubble. It's extremely helpful.
After endless rounds of playing, Tango has finally discovered the usefulness of the simple table cloth 😂 great game as always fellas, could watch this all day!
Oh the mayhem when one action cascades into a gazillion orders back logging! I love watching you guys for the chaos of failing along with learning and mastering of the game. Kinda sad I miss these ones live.
One thing that helped me serving: Yout get a "ding" if you put the right item on the table. If you dont ding, pick up whatever you put down and stop to troubleshoot.
Finally bought this game on sale~ thank you to you for introducing PlateUp to us! ❤ The 58:00 - 59:00 panic was real and loud my goodness. May i ask a small something? You need to seperate the sugar and milk, you are definitely misclicking there. The coffee tables are gonna be useful so keep the three if you can afford all three. And theres a floor-color-option next to your tables which is darker and good for people who may migraines from bright colors, if that helpd - though im not sure if the dark colors or the bright ones help withcontrast on order icons better.
58:27 You made me laugh and spit my drink out on my desk, then your scream sent my dog running out of the room. I'm sorry your panic is so entertaining. Love this series!
Mistakes may have been made, but you guys (mostly) pulled it off... more importantly you learned from your mistakes (if you can remember by next week)... In the end... and most importantly... it was a great stream with much entertainment :)
HELPFUL TIP ( A little cheaty) If you know your gonna die . Pause the game then hit the "save and return to HQ" button. The restaurant will be saved and you can restart that day 😅 I do this all the time lol
1:51:25 the "problem" you are having with cleaning floor sludge is that your character "selects" whats in front of them, not what they're standing on, so you're standing right on some sludge and cant clean it, because you're trying to clean the square in front of you, not the one you're on. I've seen this same thing trip you up with blueprint envelopes too, where youll try to open an envelope by standing on it and just wind up picking up the next blueprint instead
Thank you Tango(and Skizz) I've been away from home for over a month now, and these vods are the one tiny iota of my normal life that I can still experience at the moment. I miss getting to join your actual streams, but at least I still get these to enjoy until(if) life returns to normal.
1:06:30 Extra sugar was objectively better to keep than extra milk, due to the lattes. By keeping extra milk, you have the milk fridge being shared between the floor and kitchen. Sugar gives you the 2 separate sources. ... unless you're going with a tiny floor plan, where that 1 extra item to place is in the way. But the milk sharing would still be an issue there.
What's funny is I've been to not a coffee shop, but a Chinese restaurant with the same layout as this could have been a Thai restaurant. They had one table to wait at in the front and you would walk past the kitchen area, through the door past some curtains into the dining section. Only thing different is imagine the kitchen door closer to the first counters, along with the left counters going out to the other ones as a wall. When you went through the door a Chinese kitchen really small blocked by curtains along with a wall on the left😂😂😂😂
The Simple-Cloth Tables are the way to go. You will just have to worry about one drink per table. It will cut down serving time and confusion on what's on the table. I would replace all the regular tables with Simple-Cloth.
As some one that worked on HVAC units. Heating and air conditioning.. Up or down has nothing to do with the heating or cooling... It is based on the thermostat. in auto mode, Turning it up, it gets hotter, turning down gets colder. Temperature based, High is hot, low is cold. The same rule of thumb for Gas, electric or heat pumps.
As someone who understands English properly, what your describing is turning the thermostat up or down, not the AC. The AC has a thermostat, yes, but the question is if the AC is up or not. Since it's working harder to cool the air more, it's up - even if the thermostat is down. I'll say that the wording of the question is the problem. You shouldn't ask to "turn the AC up", you should ask to "turn the temperature down". Which goes along with what you said.
Tango, you gotta try and stay calmer and observe when things start getting tight. You tend to panic and say its over when it isn't. You are giving up before it is actually over. Next time you can try thinking through the situation and figure out what is actually wrong instead of screaming in panic and running auround like a headless chicken. I realize it is stressfull and not easy to do though. The plate up vods are great, I've watched them all, along with hermitcraft Vods.
Sometimes glasses can’t help fix the problem, which is my brain lol! (Though I don’t count, glasses is my issue with my -8 vision plus my attentive issues make it so even when I can mentally focus I can’t physically focus on what I’m seeing)
Tango and Skizz always love the videos keep up the great work. You may have figured this out already but just a tip for the server role: 1) tables, cabinets, barrels, etc only have 1 inventory slot and customers also have the same. A customer can only pull from a tables inventory slot so if you put the wrong item on the table they basically get locked up. So have the trash can or extra space to move items if you grab the wrong one. In the case of this video you had 2 customers at 1 table. You gave customer 1 a latte and accidentally placed a second latte on the table, ran back to get an iced coffee for customer 2 but the tables 1 inventory slot was full with the second latte so you couldn’t place it. 2) items that come from an infinite resource (milk and sugar) have a unique feature where you can void the item if you place it back in the sugar bag or milk fridge. Thai will save tons of counter space when mistakes are made 3) unrelated to plate up but if it interests you guys at all I think it would be fun to see you, Skizz, impulse, and zed play crab champions and try to unlock all the skins as a challenge. It’s another rouge like so if your ever looking for a new game to mix in to your streaming schedule Crab Champions maybe a fun one to pick up.
Part 4 I forgot lol - this is completely my opinion but Tea may have been the better choice. My reasoning is it’s quick to make so you can make like 2-3 right at the start and they will last you 90% of the round since they have multiple servings and makes you more money where double orders only keep people at the table longer and require you to make way more of all other items. So you went from 3 items + 1 for tea or 3 items x2 for double orders. 4 items may have been easier to manage but this again is just my thoughts on it.
@@GAMBITx3 The tea is complicated to do: grab a teapot, put water in the teapot *needing sink* put a teabag in said teapot Let sit on a counter to steep put 1 teapot with lid on the table and place 1 cup PER asking person... with tango's Observations skills and already having trouble to identify the problem, I told Skizz Tea was Bad... cuz for them, in that first round it was gonna cost them Too many steps to remember; too many chance for errors
Tango... Watching the vod, it appears that what popped the "totem" was insufficient seating. At shortly after 2:26:45 grimnamida's patience timer ran out while they were still outside just seconds before a table became available to them. The patience tag you were panicking about at the bottom table was actually grimnamida's. MAYBE if you had not accidentally given the bottom table an extra late' they would of cleared out sooner, but I do not think it would of happened soon enough for grimnamida's timer. Having watched that 2 minute clip half a dozen times or so, I think at best you could of gotten Baristasimmer an iced coffee sooner (Baristasimmer and prophetoftherhino had placed a second order baristasimmer had started with a late' and finished with iced, which I believe caused your confusion over the late') if you had not been panicking over the misplaced late', it possibly would of allowed you to get mayra062 and yshayalon thier black coffee sooner as they where the table that cleared and allowed grimnamadia their seat just a couple seconds too late, but that is a MAYBE. in the end, as I stated in the onset of this analysis... you just needed that one extra clear table.
The solution to all your problems is simple: A knight's movement in chess. Stop putting your tables in rectangular patterns. Place your tables the way a knight moves. Your chairs won't interfere and the prompts won't be in the way of anything. And the tables will still be pretty close together.

So, I knew my kids enjoyed watching this game with me, but I didn’t realize they’d started watching it on their own when I’m not around. It’s a very kid-friendly game, so I don’t mind at all. But the other day, they were upstairs in their room with my dual headphone adapter so they could both use earbuds and keep the noise down. Apparently, they’ve gotten into the habit of helping out our streamer friends by yelling “Milk!” at the top of their lungs during the game. Meanwhile, their 80-year-old great-grandmother was downstairs. Bless her heart-she has a hard time walking. She heard them screaming for milk, assumed they were thirsty, and got up to make them some chocolate milk. She called up to them, telling them to come get it, but of course, they couldn’t hear her because they had the headphones on. They just kept shouting “Milk!” at the iPad, completely unaware. For 20 minutes, my grandma is downstairs yelling for them to come get their drinks, while they’re upstairs yelling “Milk!” back at the screen. Finally, she calls me, upset, saying, “Your kids are being pains in my butt! They’re screaming for milk, but won’t come downstairs to get it. I already made it for them, and they’re ignoring me!” I could tell she was exhausted because she’d walked all the way to the kitchen to help them. So, I call the kids on Messenger through the iPad (we have an account set up for family communication). They answer, and before I can even ask what’s going on, they go, “You stopped it at the best part! They were making the drinks really good!” That’s when it all clicked-they were yelling at the game, not their grandma. It was both hilarious and a little chaotic. Poor grandma thought they were demanding chocolate milk, while they were just caught up in the intensity of game!
Wish i was there live to say see harder 😂 but honestly i also havethe same issue 😅but i found taking an extra second or 2 to deliver coffee by just having all tables apart... for this map it would have been better to place "chat" on the left and right of tables and all tables on a horizontal line, no vertical lines or table combinations
37:02 100% you're turning the AC up. Anyone who thinks otherwise is wrong. You're turning the thermostat down, but the AC itself is working harder and therefor up. That being said, just ask for the "temperature down" instead. Do you really care that it has to be done via AC? Because if the heater is on, then turning that down is the preferable solution. P.S: Skizz just said "turn my air down". That's even worse wording, since it could be interpreted as "make the air in my room colder" or as "make my air [conditioner] work less hard". Which "air"? Once he explains, it's clear he's using the bad wording - he's turning his thermostat down, but saying that the thermostat is the machine. P.P.S: That poll is irrelevant to correctness. It just goes to show half of chat doesn't understand proper English.
You have enough tables to put two tables vertically and put the chairs on the end and put them against the counter. Then you can all serve from the kitchen and not worry about the mess.
Are you making the machine work harder? Than you are turning it up. Are you turning the temp down? Than you turn THAT down, but your machine will be working harder. Depends on how ask the question.
Exactly, but that just shows that the original wording is the problem. You should always ask to "turn the temperature down", not to "turn the AC up". Using temperature encompasses any and all solutions, like turning the heating down if it's on.
Tango, I have 150 hours in this game... there's ways to get to higher OT days.... a few people have said it in the comments... but you need to chill LOL next week, try switching roles with Skizz... maybe your calling is in the Kitchen, not restaurant I have a current run of day 22 on Coffee Mode.. I play weekly. The screams are entertaining but it feels like you're not enjoying the game and are just raging... play it solo a few times, where you have to both serve and "cook" maybe it'll help you reconise the icons better. edit to add: ALso reinstall the game.. you're the ONLY one that I hear complaining about the seeds... no one else I know has this problem. I can play on PanPizza seed for multiple times after failing and it's the same layout every time!
tango you have to use more tables you were on day 8 of the franchise expecting 11 groups and only running 4 tables. meaning you have to clear 3 rounds of tables to get everyone in. second thing is your table set up was absolutely awful. if you do top chair and left or right chair you can form effectively a hallway of open table sides while also not taking up 6 squares of space. instead you take up a 2x2 square as the table is 1 and the 2 chairs gets you 3 out of 4 for a 2x2. and your next table is spaced 1 down with the top chair back touching the table above. the more automation you get the farther you move the tables and just have belts moving the drinks to either side so you can utilize the massive space on either wall. also coffee tables do not hold 4 people unless the party is 4 people. if you have 11 expected groups and 5 dining tables you want 6 coffee tables minimum because then you can max the call. you always buy the copies and recopy the basic item especially when it comes to things like coffee tables
2:26:25 You need to stop shutting off your brain, that's all there is to it. You made a mistake. I guess you saw the previously delivered latté on the table and thought that was what they wanted. Then the switch went off and you ran around carrying things without thinking about how the game controls. You realized (or was told?) that they wanted iced coffee. There was something on the table, so you couldn't deliver anything there... but you kept trying to deliver it anyways. You cleared the table as was needed for a second, then refilled it. Heck, once the problem got solved you were still trying to solve it. When trouble showed up, you just tried to run to action, but you didn't think about what action had to be taken. If something is amiss, you need to stop and look. Figure out the problem and solution, and then jump to action.
Tango, there are three things that cause you trouble by mixing them up (in addtion to not seeing what customers consume)

2) Dishes already delivered (and customers consuming them)

Exactly, but that just shows that the original wording is the problem. You should always ask to "turn the temperature down", not to "turn the AC up". Using temperature encompasses any and all solutions, like turning the heating down if it's on.
Watching this a year later, and I keep talking to the video, as though you guys can actually hear me making suggestions. 😅🥴😂🤣😂
youre conditioning the air, thats both warming and cooling not necessarily just cooling it. So its down, Skizz and all the sane people are correct.
I don’t think auger seen so many scoops of sugar ever😂
I haven't played Plateup in a while, is this basically as mod or is this just a new thing?
new update; Coffee Mode had up to 6 different drinks (tea included)
58:03 I'm amazing right now. 12 seconds later and everything goes wrong
I know... I know :-) That timing.
YEAH BOI!!!!!!!
Sooooo Much PANIC!!!
Please someone in Stream tell Tango about the PrepGhost mod.
Cheaty Cheaty but will help have more Tango - Skizz fun!!
Tango, I have 150 hours in this game... there's ways to get to higher OT days....
a few people have said it in the comments... but you need to chill LOL
next week, try switching roles with Skizz... maybe your calling is in the Kitchen, not restaurant
I have a current run of day 22 on Coffee Mode.. I play weekly.
The screams are entertaining but it feels like you're not enjoying the game and are just raging...
play it solo a few times, where you have to both serve and "cook" maybe it'll help you reconise the icons better.
edit to add:
ALso reinstall the game.. you're the ONLY one that I hear complaining about the seeds... no one else I know has this problem.
I can play on PanPizza seed for multiple times after failing and it's the same layout every time!

Cheeky nandos >:)
38:35 agreed if you want the ac to increase you say turn it up.
tango you have to use more tables you were on day 8 of the franchise expecting 11 groups and only running 4 tables. meaning you have to clear 3 rounds of tables to get everyone in. second thing is your table set up was absolutely awful. if you do top chair and left or right chair you can form effectively a hallway of open table sides while also not taking up 6 squares of space. instead you take up a 2x2 square as the table is 1 and the 2 chairs gets you 3 out of 4 for a 2x2. and your next table is spaced 1 down with the top chair back touching the table above. the more automation you get the farther you move the tables and just have belts moving the drinks to either side so you can utilize the massive space on either wall. also coffee tables do not hold 4 people unless the party is 4 people. if you have 11 expected groups and 5 dining tables you want 6 coffee tables minimum because then you can max the call. you always buy the copies and recopy the basic item especially when it comes to things like coffee tables
At 59:00 YOU KEEP PUTTING THE WRONG THING ON TABLES NOOOOOOOOOOOO 💀
Dude 58:00. lol
Favorite moment when skizzle finally gets a better voice at 2:53:40
2:26:25 You need to stop shutting off your brain, that's all there is to it.
