If it works with the firewall off, it means the firewall was blocking it, meaning you'll have to let it through the firewall (you can find tutorials on how to do this)
it still need to be in the sane wifi i guess.. it did not worked for me when i use another phone which is not connected to the wifi which is connected to the pc.... it keeps loading and not opened the webpage at all...
Hi sir its 2021 and still watching this.. did you try to access your local host xampp server connected using ethernet and access it with phone connected thru wifi? The ethrnet connection and wifi connection is the same device i use.

@@sagaralwani75 Well when you port forward you can basically run the slave from any computer in the world and give it the master's public ip address and port forwarded port. This way you don't need to run the programs on localhost only. They will also work world wide

@@sagaralwani75 Well In your case you don't need to run XAMPP. Your server is the master.py file, so you need to portforward the machine that is running the master.py file. This way you can connect to it from the slave.py file using your router's public address and the port you port forwarded.
Ye you can do whichever port you like but when you type in an address and if you don't want to enter a port after the address in the URL bar. So when you use 80 you don't actually need to mention the port in the URL bar. Apart from that feel free to use any port that's not already in use.
You probably have a different gateway address which allows you to connect to your router. If you are on windows open cmd and then type in : ipconfig. In the results under wireless adapter look for the default gateway IP address. That is the address you need to paste into your browser to access the admin page. The address should typically be something like 192.168.1.1 or slightly different depending on your network.

Well technically by allowing port forwarding your allowing users online access to the device on your localhost so depending on how well you set up you're firewall it can either be safe or very unsafe.
Works just as described! Thank you. If the port is different then the 80 port, make sure to enter :port number after your public IP address.

Make sure the target address of the computer has been set correctly in correspondence with the port you want to open
