    About Sol LeWitt:
Born on September 9, 1928, Sol Lewitt was an American artist known for pioneering Conceptual Art and Minimalism. Central to his idea was the concept as he famously quoted “In conceptual art the idea or concept is the most important part of the work.” Much of what he conceived came down to specific ideas in instructions: a thought you were meant to contemplate first and then carried out by you or someone else.
LeWitt’s works include sculptures, paintings and in particular, large-scale wall drawings in the shape of geometric figures and lines.
