Good one lol how much more is the 4 cylinder model, ( sales man) I heard ten years , they have warehouses full of 2 cyl engines. The neighbor told me that same salesman told him it’s half the price to overhaul 2 versus 4 cylinders !
I’ll buy it I wish they still made this equipment. It was so much simpler back then and even if it’s not gonna be a good farm tractor now I wish I’d still make it for pulling.
Old farmer down the road when I was a kid fell off backwards off the seat of his JD 60 and got disked up by the implement. Found him in little chunks spread all along. This old farm machinery were death traps. It’s always amazed me more farmers weren’t injured and killed by them.

That's the selling point. If you've ever heard one in person, you'll never forget the sound. My family has 3 of these. We go to old plow days. There might be 50 old tractors in the field. You can hear that Johny Popper over the rest, on the other side of the field.
That's exactly what you did back then. Disc down the stubble, plow, disc again twice, harrow, plant, cultivate, cultivate, cultivate, pick. Start over again. Minimum 10 trips across any corn field.
Deere didn't invent the rollamatic, the designer offered it to IH first , but they declined it, thats how deere got it, another selling point which was not documented is most kids could drive it , both hands on clutch lever, pull, then stand on brakes , tractor stops .

That's interesting that the older John Deere B was "only" $900 to overhaul the engine. Considering the bigger new one was only $1,900 I might just buy a new one instead. Moreover, the "old" one was probably only about $1,500 new.

If only John Deere could see what his company have become.
If only he had lived to even see a single tractor, or even see one with his name
I’d imagine he’s rolling in his grave over the stolen designs, and right to repair ordeal
I've run an B, an A and a 70. Both gas and diesel. They were fine tractors and some still are. Great video.

Well we all couldn't wait until tomorrow. Now look what tomorrow brought
True that.
A man had to be a certain age before he could wear a hat, apparently. Love the way things used to be.
I would love it if farming was still like this
Great find, I love the old B's.
I've got a 1948 B and it's original except for a repaint when it was about 20 !

This is great. Bill was so smart he knew his gender. Something kids have trouble with today 🤔
I grew up on the farm with these and older john deere tractors. good stuff. yes I always respected everyone. its the way its done.
(Posted by Rick Pickell) There is something about John -Deere equipment that has Cadillac class built into each piece of that equiptment.
Too bad JD doesn’t have Mercedes class designs.
Good looking 1919 model car!
Back then there is no way someone would go from a Farmall to a John Deere. He must have had an A.C.
Ive driven both. I'd take the Deere

Nicer tractors than a modern Deere
