Based on the fact that we see a mushroom cloud at 1:48 and we are told to “Keep drinking water in our Fallout room”, I can only assume that major water sources became infected with radiation. The radiated water was then given to sick people being marketed as “Holy Water”, giving them some kind of temporary reprieve, making them think they were cured. This caused a huge number of people to die at once, and caused a massive radiation spread. Either way, excellent work! This is a wonderful analog short, and I am deeply looking forward to more.
I don't know if this is the right interpretation (or even if there is one), but apparently, because of the way radiation poisoning works, the symptoms suddenly go away almost entirely when you're just past the point when there is no cure

Old Testament God vibes. They choose to cheapen His grace by selling fake "miracle water", so He cursed the water as punishment. That some a that Old Testament Wrath of God type shit. Bravo, my dude.

I've become quite interested in these Analog Horrors, I don't suppose you could you tell me how you make them? I understand the story structure but I'd like to know how to put the videos together, where to get the clips from etc. I hope that's okay
To be honest, I don't think I know much about making Analog Horror yet, so we're on this journey together :D But most importantly, if you want to make something, just experiment a little. For the clips just try to find anything you like online, or take a camera and film your own content. With good editing you can make the most normal footage creepy! Don't worry if your first try doesn't turn out to be exactly like other stuff you've seen. It can be its own thing.
the font choice really ruined the immersion, i must say. that part was super jarring, that's not an analog type edit that felt super "windows movie maker"
