Great update, thanks everyone. I'm sorry to hear that Storm Darragh has resulted in the cancellation of this weekend's train service. I hope that any storm damage to the railway can be soon remedied. It has certainly been extremely windy here in Tywyn - one of the houses in the road next to me has had its roof torn off by the storm.
Great to see the PW gang's work promptly approved by the Inspection Hound. 🐕 Those rolling pit covers are an ingenious solution to an issue as old as railways. Kudos to whoever came up with *that* novel idea.
15:22 for your Awdry gala if Mattel will let you, you can have Thomas from the Watercress line down and have him shunt trucks as well as demonstrate how it was done in the olden days. Whilst I do know that it would be impossible to bring a standard tank engine down here I still believe it can be done as you brought Captain Baxter from Bluebell down once and having Thomas there will certainly be a nice touch to the Awdry gala. Just a suggestion 😊
1:52 While everyone is focused on Midlander, and rightfully so, I'm curious what is behind Midlander. I know the Talyllyn is investing in a electric locomotive, so No. 13 perhaps?
Why don’t you guys put trailing wheels on the bottom of Douglas cab like Tallyllyn I hear that engine was a rough ride and that was fixed with steam roller wheels
She’s not needed them for the last 100+years so why put them on now? Your info is a bit mixed as N° 3 “Sir Haydn” is the one with the steam roller wheels
You guys should have one of your steam engines painted black as the Polar Express or even have a tender engine on the line, perhaps buy one of the England Class engines from the other preserve railway or maybe even make your own tender engine? Kind of like Bertram The Old Warrior.
They cant just "buy" engines from other heritage railways. Making a new one would cost too much, and require a lot of work to make the line suitable for it to run.
Liz has such enthusiasm and is fantastic presenter. I imagine that she is a great manager to work for. Enjoyed the video.

Good luck Douglas
aka duncan.
Great update - was lovely to see Douglas at Highley on the SVR in the summer. Hope the storm this weekend didn't cause too much damage.
Thank you for a great upbeat video. What a brilliant team you have there. Every voluntary organisation should have one!
I live in Canada & i actively promote the Talyllyn railway at least once a week in my city

I love the sliding ash pit covers. It's an excellent idea.
one thing I always love about the TR is how everyone mucks in on these big projects!
truly an inspirational little railway ^^
Merry Christmas to you all
The Cambrian Railways truck looks great in its new home.
Fantastic to see so much going on behind the scenes. Thank you to our wonderful army of staff and volunteers! ❤

Was that Alf's Air Whistle I just heard?
Yes it was
Great Update as usual, guys! Can’t wait to see what you have in store for Awdry 5 and TR160
I am actually traveling to the Talyllyn Railway in the summer along with the snowdon mountain railway
Shame I won’t get to see Douglas though

There is about 40ft of track.. not enough for a loco to do anything.
If I lived in the UK or even in the wales area I’d absolutely want to do some of this
Very good!
Good luck to Duncan.
2:52 Douglas and Gordon

I believe that’s their new wagon
It's our brand new ballast hopper!
Oh, interesting.
Good video, like ! ! !
Are you guys gonna re-paint Douglas how you did with tallylyn, Edward Thomas and midlander
I would love to see her in TR Red! I wouldn’t even look away if she was even painted in Skarloey Railway Red
Will you guys expand the line more? Like more view of the valley. Perhaps up to the old quarry?
I doubt it, the railway would probably see that as a rather large project for what is really not much monitory gain in the grand scheme of things
@@jaidencracknell2326 I always just wonder is all.

Can you describe a diesel as "moving under it's own steam"??!!
I think it’s a joke
Why not put the original beam in the museum
Don’t think there’s enough space
@terrier_productions hmm
Yeah would be nice to preserve it somehow

@@SudrianFirelighter I was wondering or they could ask for a loan idk.
@@onetrackmind3558 They have had Prince over at Wharf once I believe but only on a small section of track for display
@@SudrianFirelighter oh, well I mean for like a few weeks to a month.
@@onetrackmind3558 they're the wrong gauge for the TR
1:56 Rusty the little diesel engine What are you doing on the siding Are you the diesel inspector??
Rusty is a diesel not steam engine A diesel
It was a very clear joke
