- An update for supporters of the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway on the work to slew and divert the line around a landslip that has blocked the railway since October 2023.
Great to see guys who know what they are about getting the job done efficiently and quietly. As an engineer it is great to watch. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing this video so that we can see how the work is done. Tremendous.
It was great that Volker Rail came up trumps.
Very good to see this. A timely reminder of difficult and very dirty work needing doing and tackled. Best wishes to the house residents who have been obviously living within a nightmare after the landslips. All being well I shall join you AT DUFFIELD ! -in a short period of time. Aptly for the date, surrender was not an option...............WELL DONE the EVR team.
Thank you Neil for posting this excellent and most informative video. I look forward to taking the train once more from Duffield, courtesy of all the detailed planning and hard work that has gone into re-aligning the track in such a short space of time. Cheers, William Skinner.
You should all be proud of what you have accomplished. Well done👍
I have just seen the Green Signals Exclusive so I thought I pop over here and take a look
Very well done to all concerned, look a very nice job indeed . 👍
This looks more 'main line' than a lot of the railway network.
May just be the camera angles but the new track seems better aligned than maybe it did before - a smooth curve. Well done everyone.
Great to see this specialised machinery doing a good job.
I was expecting to see a brake van with ballast ploughs fitted!
Dropping stone is always interesting like using the shark to spread stone dropped from the dogfish centre door.
Nice filming well done 👍
Beaver tamper from Volker Rail does a super job.
Hi Neil, I just found this post, and was wondering why was the track realigned? Ah I just heard your comment
Looks like a bit more ballast on the right of the tamper would help, seems a bit scant
That was the outside of the curve. For a 70mph curve it would have been raised higher than it was previously.
