Danelle Morgan - I am fairly close to a large vet teaching hospital and for your regular general check-up (check the oil, kick the tires) they pretty much do the same things be it dog, cat, etc., in the small animal category. Of course, when you start talking large animal vet visits they cost more. Not only with the vet but usually you have to trailer the animal in or pay for a house call. Any animal that might be dealing with a particular health challenge can run the bill up with specialized blood work, assorted labs, x-rays, etc. but I assume Boo did not fall under that category.
