To be honest, I love my illusion slash because it is such an extreme rod. Other comparable rods such as ghost blade are much faster and more "universal", but I do not want my XUL to be universal. For that I have always another UL rod with me. Just my couple of cents. Thanks for a great video, as always
It's on the constraints of limitations that some of us pull the best work, I understand how such a "limited" rod can increase your fishing satisfaction.
Mullet mouth is very sensitive, sometimes they unhook themselfs pretty easilly by breaking their mouth. Maybe using lighter gear is better never thought about it. I already caught small mullet with empty hooks xD i don't know the name of the species to be exact but its the mullet with a yellow dot in the face. Nice video as always , and for good you didnt fell! Here the mud is sometimes slipery or makes you sink (and it is dangerous in that regard)
This river had sinkholes on this area, some people died, but now it's fixed with some breathing tubes, but I have a longer trailer in the channel page where I have fallen in the same exact spot 😆
@@RicardoReview But the sinkholes are like muddy ones that make u get stuck in the mud? if yes its like here... Some people have died here too. I always be careful stepping in mud here and avoid the muddy zones as much as possible. Yep i don't know if wearing a life jacket would help in this situations, even though i know how to swim. Yeah i saw the trailer xD. Was the water very cold? When i get snagged i usually do the bow thing and it helped me in many situations. Probably the best trick i have learn this year to save a lot of tackle.
@guts9888 water temps are OK for me, in here was not mud but air bubbles coming through the sand/substrate and "eating" the person, they would just vanish.
Nice mullets! I would be scared of handling bigger fish on this rod. 😆 Nice tips on mullets biology and their survival rate during a nuclear fallout. 🤣

@@RicardoReview like moving sand yep its indeed dangerous, and that type of stuff also "eats" tackle
Never had any disappearing tackle
👌

They feed off sewers and go all day scraping on rocks how can you destroy one?
