I hope something like that is possible, as it'd be amazing to prevent hunters memorizing maps and make prop hunt a bit more balanced on both sides.

6:45 im the dude that suggested this mod. never seen this happen, probably a conflicting mod. also, never seen the glitchy lighting either if another room is in front of the door or it cant find the right room to insert, it will just be locked. also, a stairway will detect when another room is near it and pathfind to it. for instance, in the room with the horse statue (7:55) you could find a staircase and end up on another floor of it.

It's amazing a game from 2006, is still a timeless masterpiece to this day. Even though it's built off an existing game from 2004, there are so many things you could do in this game, and it's so impressive that its community did not "die out" like most games from that era have.
@@AltKaxREAL Drgbase nextbots don't require navmeshes, although they wouldn't work well and would get stuck on things a lot, considering how tight and narrow each room is.
The infinite one is extremely buggy like if you explode nukes from really far away like the tsar bomb the explosion texture looks wayyy closer than it actually is including vehicles because they phase through the ground and you can’t even drive the only thing you can do is walk and fly planes
It's a bit unfortunate how the map is fullbright (everything is the same level despite no light sources) likely due to Source's engine limitations. Source requires a map to be "sealed" in order for lights to work properly. Oddly enough though I still can see shadows. Therefore I think since the map geometry is not static the engine will think that the map is not sealed and not calculate lighting.
hammer detects if there are any light sources on your map. if there aren't, it skips VRAD calculations as there are no light sources to work with. the mapper could have precalculated the lighting on the textured models in blender but didn't care i suppose.
This is the kind of system certain games should point to, obviously with certain fixed elements such for example having armories or story-related rooms only spawning on certain order or circunstances... Dead Space and/or callisto protocol is the perfect genre for this, plus many coop games such l4d.. I personally would want a coop game based on something as simple as HL... escape the building... mostly from some kind of zombie apocalyps, where you may weld doors, have random event based on the rooms, like imagine some kind of "deep blue sea" environment where you could get water getting in and you doing a puzzle to stop the water, redirect it, etc... maybe even physically based puzzles like opening doors to have more time until you get downed etc...
imagine if this map had nodes, and enemies randomly spawned in maps. here is my idea : its a giant, infinite boat. Each room has a rare chance of summoning enemies. the further the player gets, either bigger enemies or larger swarms of enemies spawn. every 50 rooms would have a rare chance of being a boss room. certain rooms give ammo or weapons. maybe the enemies could be oil / ink themed, like ink slimes, or oil slugs.
In the map, I had 3 rooms. The 3rd one was a dead end, and there were no other doors in the area, so that means I met a dead end 2 rooms after the start. HOW??

Ive seen this in a Frizky Frog video even tho hes still doing okay their channels (chubs mcnubbs, Frizky Frog, gram gram, etc.) their channels are all dead kinda.
i think it looks more like the roblox game "rooms" made by nicorocks5555, the reason for this is that both lack proper lighting and just look very low quality, they both go on forever and they also feel very liminal

You can make nodes for the rooms but you cant move the nodes to the room you generated, source limitation.
