I have been waiting for this reaction of yours...:
Some basic facts on her: She's 17 now (*31.12.2005), Indonesian from Java island, born premature at 6 months and some days, incubator, blind from birth...listened to a lot of Beethoven and Mozart while still in her mother's womb (that's what she said in an interview, important point imo...) ... was able to sing a Chinese song on Mandarin at 2 years old...at 8 won Indonesia Got Talent... Main musical influences during childhood and adolescence: David Foster's music and the artists he promoted and produced: Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Disney Songs etc... - But she also took in all the musical influences she was surrounded with, traditional Indonesian music, everything she heard on the streets, in her parents' and grandparents' home (classical music) etc... Started playing the piano at 11 (self taught)... her family moved to another place to make it possible for her to attend a special school for impaired children... later attended a high school with music and vocals as main subject. started studying flute...met and collaborated with many famous people in the music industry, both Indonesians and internationally... worked with her role model David Foster... wrote many great originals in different languages, Bahasa, Javanese, English, maybe more... plays multiple instruments, her main being the piano, but also flute, guitar, percussion, traditional instruments... can sing any genre (my favorite is jazz as in "Over The Rainbow"...), conveys emotion like no other, has the voice of an angel, and in immaculate taste in music, never over does anything, never just shows off, always connects to the lyrics and her audience... imo she's the next global superstar, and she so much deserves it, such a sweet, loving, positive, humble human being! Amen!
Edit: With this performance she was voted in for the finals which will be broadcast on Sept. 26th. then 24 hrs. of public voting (in the US), the results will be announced on Sept. 27th in another show, I do hope she will be the winner! (Anyway she already is a winner, stole a million hearts from all over the world...). What's special: Simon said he already arranged and got a confirmation for a duet for Putri to sing at the last show, he wouldn't say who her partner will be, but I'm sure it will be a big name (she already worked with some...), Simon said he's sure it will be extraordinarily beautiful... He got some experience and expertise in the scene, I think he senses she will be the winner (and does a lot to promote her, they have a special bond, it was obvious from the beginning...) Let's see how it goes, my prayers are with her!

Because most of the interviews with Putri are in Indonesian, sometimes I thought that you are an Indonesian residing in Bavaria 😊. I just want to add that Putri is studying in a public music school, majoring in flutes (not vocals). Putri's father is Javanese, and her mother was from Riau in Sumatra Island. Putri was born in Riau and lived there until she had to attend the school for special-need students in Jogjakarta where her father came from and where she lives in now.
@@ilalang514 Thank you for the corrections in detail. No, I'm actually native Bavarian (with parents from different parts, but not islands, of Germany...), but for many of her interviews in Bahasa there are subs available, and I learned from English comments as well, and one Indonesian fan is undergoing the effort to translate her Indonesian videos and compile them on his channel for foreigners to enjoy... I appreciate all of these efforts, Indonesian people are very helpful when they see people from other parts of the world are interested in their culture, arts, natural beauty etc...
@Hundhammer Wow, really? I had been thinking of doing just that: subbing Putri's interviews and music videos, but I haven't got around to doing it yet. I'm glad that someone has beaten me to it 😊. I also thought that you could be a Bavarian who might have been to Indonesia and learn to speak Indonesian there. Imo, Indonesian is the easiest language in the world to learn. It took some foreign vloggers less than a year to be fluent in Indonesian.

If I am mistaken, AGT only allowed a very short time to perform for each participant. Like you, I also wished it was longer because I also loved it so so much. This song was chosen by AGT. Her mother is her stylist & the dress she was wearing this night was made by a young Indonesia designer specially for Putri. To me, Putri's journey is more like the life of a butterfly. Once an ordinary cocoon turns into a beautiful mesmerizing butterfly. Thank you for sharing this beautiful moment with all of us.

To think this song is over 30 years old but I never had heard it. I played it afterwards and had to play it twice. Couldn’t figure out how it was the same song cause when Putri sings it it transforms to such a rich beautiful melody. This is the first time I watch AGT or any talent show. Your words convey exactly my feelings she was absolutely fabulous. She will be know as one of the greats worldwide. Thanks for your great reaction.
