Information for you, the collector's family hates/repudiates it because when they see the murals the other collectors make fun of the one we know and the modification of the final part of the book from the same collector

They’re always seen as the bad person but people need to remember although he’s been trapped in a ball thingy for decades and decades he’s still a child! I think the ending for TOH would be Luz getting turned into a puppet and Camila gets to talk with them and helping them realise that they’ve done is horrible and that he needs to stop it. But that’s just a theory on what could be the ending

Actually collectors don't have a family.Instead take a look what the King of Bonesborrow has.The collectors are put in a vase or a some type of container.They are made out of a liquid substance.In probably S2 Episode 2 or S2 EP1 it shows a picture of collectors.So to answer this correctly,collectors has no family.He or she is a liquid that some how formed into a shape of a human child.That has a lot of knowledge.
