Thanks for doing this. I agree, there's just not much demo of the Vox 50 capabilities. I have had mine for about 2-3 months now. I'm not thrilled with it as I find the vocals sounding canned. Your voice comes thru fine, but I guess my tenor voice is not ideal as I'd like more warmth. I currently gig with an old and trusty Bose L2 system which is terrific, but I'm looking to go lighter. I have my eye on the Everse 8, which is quite a bit more than the 50. I'll tinker with the mic settings a bit more, otherwise, I may just use this for a practice home amp.
The main thing it needs an ability to EQ the vocal. An option would be to get a little mini mixer with EQ on the channels and go from the stereo main outs of the mixer to the stereo mini jack aux input on the amp (of course, would require adapters from the XLR mixer out to the mini jack.)
@@v-guitar-co I have a pair of QSC K8's i use on stands and with an Allen & Heath 8 channel mixer for bigger events, too much carry with my other gear for regular gigs. I love my Bose L2 system which breaks down to 3 pieces to carry.. but still heavier than I'd like.. hence I went with the VOX Go Mini 50 for the light weight and simplicity, so if I have to now add an EQ, that would be counter productive unfortunately. I'll probably end up getting the Everse 8 which I think will check all the boxes for me. I think the VOX will still be good to have for rehearsals and as an emergency backup amp for small gigs.
I moved up to the minigo 50 for the bigger speaker. Was using it to practice with a group at the park on batteries. No longer doing that so I am using my tube amp at home. So no, I no longer have the amp in this video.
Well, what I consider attractive about this amplifier, besides being small, it has loops, rhythms and an emulator of other amplifiers. If you only play guitar and occasionally sing, this is great, especially for the price. But there are better options if you need something with better vocal quality.
@@v-guitar-co Hi! To really get a better quality for vocals, that would be need a dedicated PA speaker for vocals. So, due to portability, I would stick with Vox. I’d read some reviews about the Bose S1 but haven’t tried it.
@@rafabern31 I had a Bose S1 for a minute but didn't think it sounded good on my voice. During Covid we used the minigo 50 to rehearse in the park and it did fine.
Hello, is it loud enough to play in a very open Spaces? do you Ever play with a Drummer? Do yo feel the amp has the same sound quality when is pluged to AC as when is battery powered? Another stupid question, have you ever plugged a Bass? Great video!!!!!
Hello I used it to practice outdoors in the park during Covid. We had a drummer who used brushes and was kind of a quiet style of drummer. Worked perfectly great for practicing. No idea how it would sound from a distance though. Our whole purpose in doing it was not to disturb people so we were playing as quietly as possible. Yes I think it sounds the same on battery as on AC.
Oops, that one's not available anymore. Basically you need a female XLR to male mono quarter inch. Search the Internet for that you should find plenty of options. Available as an adapter or as a cable.
Great Demo opened my mind up to things I didn’t know. I love my Go-50. Looping like crazy and soloing has improved greatly.

Also, I believe you can use the Program button to save up to 3 Amp settings (Green, Yellow, Red), that will be useful when performing live.

Actually, I did try this at one point and it works but the noise floor is a bit high.

Ever considered using a volume pedal?
Just ordered one. Still like it? Maybe the mic makes a difference.

PS, powered the minigo 50 from a laptop battery charger.
@@v-guitar-co Cool, hope you post more videos using this amp. Take care!
