(2nd Bomb Wing/U.S. Air Force)
My dad served from53 66 in the Air Force sgt dan Bradford jr of South Carolina Boykin today his grandson is a technician sgt every time I see these bombers I’m proud of all who served god bless our military
This airplane's service date will likely end up being close to 100 years. That's incredible. Legendary.

Yes no other airplane has ever done this, it’s just a testament to the original design
Over 60 years ago, B52s would occasionally do touch and goes at Fallon NAS, now the Top Gun school. They would circle the valley at low altitude, hitting the runway maybe every 15 minutes. My grandmother and I would drive out and park on a friend's property immediately west of the end of the 12,000 foot runway, just to experience the racket as they went over at no more than 200 feet altitude on takeoff power. Not for the faint of heart....I wish I could remember the local livestock's reaction.
The big Boeing B-52 Stratofortress is so impressive to watch taking off and landing as well as in flight. I recall reading many years ago that the pilots nicknamed them the “BUF” for the “Big Ugly Fellow”. In my eyes though, they are a thing of beauty and power.
Gage Yes, that’s the term.
Back in the early 70's used to watch take offs and landings at Carswell AFB in Ft. Worth, TX. Hours upon hours spent in the sun watching these incredible aircraft.
I was at Carswell 1966 -70 Double wing of B52-F's Spent 6 moths in Thailand then back to Carswell for discharge. (They sure had a lot of Pretty Women in Ft.Worth.)
@@garycorbier9123 Hahaha...yeah, I guess so! I was born at Carswell AFB October 1967!! Both parents were stationed there!!
my dad flew them in airforce love them big bad ass b-52 all over in at out of country just found box of 8mm tapes of taking off landing my mom shot back in the day!
My FIL and I used to love going to air shows there at Barksdale AFB. Back in the 70's there was a Vulcan bomber demo. That thing was incredibly loud and beautiful.
I use to skydive out of Gilliam, La just north of Bossier City, the secondary jump master was a pilot for one of these bad boys and the primary was a F-16 jockey, super cool dudes!
Never gets old watching those majestic birds.
U out hospital. With exit plan
Growing up in Ruston we saw these birds pass over Cypress Springs Elementary School about 40 miles west of Barksdale AFB. Super thrilling for us youngsters. Sometimes they passed at low altitude and we could read the numbers.
Same for me in Minden.
Lived in westernmass, these planes were the sound of freedom! Thank you for your service.
I love C5 galaxy, antonov 124, airbus a380 and of course jumbo 747, but my favorite is always B52 😍❤️

One of our best weapons platforms ever built. I’m 70 and it’s been around all my life! Name another resource with that longevity. 🤠
Robert Sparkes : You are actually a little older than the B-52. Well, actually, maybe not. It depends on when they were first built. They first flew in April of 1952, just four months before I was born. I don't know when the first B-52 was actually built, but they first flew in April of 1952, and I was born in August, 1952. The planes are much older than the people who fly them.
Steve Williams good to hear from another boomer 🤠
I toured Castle Air Force Base in California back in the late 60s when they still were flying these out of there. Magnificent to see them up close.
Great.
First assignment was Castle AFB. I worked in a big hangar and had to walk underneath the B-52s to get to my office!
I toured the Castle Air Museum in 2015. One B-52 was on display, alongside with about 50 aircraft of other types.
1:00 nice salute from ground crew.
With the Vegas Strip in the background... awesome

I am very lucky to have been raised in Riverside Country about 16 miles from March AFB. I seen a lot of B-52 flyovers, takeoff and landing. Sometimes they would fly low over our house and it seemed like an ear shattering earthquake. These are very awesome machines that help Keep America Great....
Saw?
Great video , love the b-52 !! Thumbs Up .
Surprised no negative responses here, amazing!
What a magnificent-looking bird...
These planes are extremely awesome and perfect examples of the amazing technology of the u.s. air force even after all these years!
Fantastic footage, especially as the close up as it approaches the camera, I almost ducked at 2.15!

The B-52 is iconic. I remember seeing pictures of the Grim Reaper painted on some of them...l kinda got a chuckle out of that. That said, they've brought death and destruction to so many in it's time, so I guess having the Grim Reaper painted on it is justified.
Yeah death to people who have no weaponry
You should SEE A COMPLETE BOMB WING ( MITO) Minimum Intervdal Take Off saw one at Blitheville AFB WHEN I was stationed there.
I got to fly in those BUFS a few times.
Msgt USAF Retired
Notice the wing position before take off and after landing, full fuel tanks vs empty...
3:00 oh! I've never seen that before on a plane! The B-52's wings have wheels and stork-like legs holding them up from scraping the ground, then when it's taking off and in flight, the wings are hoisted up by the flow of air over the wings, that's so cool!
Spent four years with these old gals at Barksdale AFB La they would run those engines up late at night for alerts and after about 6 months that sound became very comforting like really loud white noise it would shake the dorms on take off whenever I'm back in bossier I still love the sound of these bad boys 👍👍👍to all the pilots and crew and ground crew thanks guys
Grand Forks We had 5 alert B52's We also were the base that had the KC135's stationed to refuel ya'lls planes
@@1HUFFMAN we had the 135's also cant have buffs without their gas stations
@@brucekitchura3680 4 decades ago that was classified info. I just realizes what I did !!!
Relax any base that had buffs also had alert aircraft everyone knew that and what they carried that was 1/2 of the deterrence side of alert aircraft
I was at Westover AFB in the late 60's and when they had an alert and many took off it was like a earthquake.
I was Westover when they closed the Alert Area and WSA in 1973. I loved the place, I miss Johnny's 3D Grinders out the back gate and Saturday nights at The Bridge in Holyoke
@@WootTootZoot what about the red barn, abdows, lots of great memories
I wonder was it like the old m-60's going by?
Lovely, thanks! ❤✔
Lenyűgöző képsorok.Köszönöm
Fantastic. The flaps extend so far out on the wings makes me wonder if the most outboard ones also act as ailerons. I wasn't able to see if separate ailerons were farther out nearer to the wingtips.
No ailerons on the buff, just flaps and on the top of each wing spoilers
A very beautiful plane!
Beautiful sound.
If you are watching this after 3 years you are a legend 🙌
Holy X, two pair of engines per wing is one thing, but the wingspan is superb.
Thank You for Protection us.
First saw these at Walker AFB. They used a parachute to slow it down once landed. The first one came in as the B36s were pulling out. She was christened the Enchanted Lady since it was a New Mexico base.
I was born on Walker air Force Base in 1958. My daddy was a navigator on b-52's.
Hope the EPA doesn't see this video ... THE EXHAUST outta those 8 jet engines !!

Take off and landing at this monster is great but, Still, take off and landing of Boeing 747 is the most graceful of them all I’ve ever seen!!!
It's incredible to get that much lift taking off without much angle of attack !!
Dennis Janda it’s all about physics, each square inch provides 14,7 lbs. of lift due to air flow
If you look closely at where the wing meet the fuselage through the wingtips, the leading edge of the wing is at a fixed angle up, probably for improved lift since the B-52s lack of rotation at takeoff.
@@edwardmounsey9208..I think it's associated with the horizontal stabilizers..They're big enough to be wings themselves..It's the only aircraft I've seen with ability to have "level lift" !!
@@delten-eleven1910..It'sa unique ability for the B52 to have very little "angle of attack"..Could be why they need to be refueled after take off..Interesting to say the least !!
I stood motionless for the duration of the video...that is how freaking amazing these planes are. Just before take off the wings begin to flex straight right before it gets off the ground.
If
Greatest bomber of all time love from the uk to our American brothers and sisters.
The landing is something else, wow!
Just before these warbirds take off its the ground crew that says its ready to fly and we all say kudos to all of them.

When this bird comes a knocking, your world will become a rocking. God bless our AF aviators and crews on there mission.
anyway, no suitable explanation for the invasion of other country. All the invasion will be defeated though they used any advanced technologies to kill people.
I miss watching The Buff taking off from Travis , I miss all of them
Emirica i love you 💛💛💛❤💓🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
We would stand under them as they came in to land. What a playground I had in the seventies.
My favorite airplane my whole life 😍😍😍😍 God bless for the pilot’s 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Beautiful beautiful beautiful ✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️
By far the best heavy bomber we have!
Amazing....
I live Oscoda MI
Wursmith AFB used to be here Home of the B52
we would sit on lake Huron and watch these planes do touch and goes all day long
I was there, '84-'89, dad retired Senior Master Sergeant after 28 years. Last unit was the 379th BW as the autopilot section chief. Loved watching these old gals strut their stuff
Remember seeing one of these beauties coming into land at Darwin, Australia. Fair got my complete attention. Awesome.
Awesome video! 👍
Very good
👍👍👍👍
Nice video 🛫💚❤️🇵🇹
Great aeroplane. Nice videography.
A Sargent I worked with in missiles had been a crew chief. He was part of the testing program. THEY WILL FLY BOTTOM UP !
Don't have howling sound of the D & F models with water injection and black smoke. Still brings back memories. of Carswell A F B 66-70
Really amazing
Good old Nellis AFB with Las Vegas in the background.

Just when I swore I’d never watch another fighter plane video here I am again
You’re in luck, the B-52 isn’t a fighter plane! 😎
*Believe it or not...this is what peak performance looks like*
How much fuel does one of these birds us from start-up until lift-off?
WELLCOME TO UKRAINE!!!!!
My dad was on every B52 ever built. He taught “spherical geometry” to all the crews back before all the fancy navigational equipment.
A very majestic machine.
Wait a second the Stratosphere tower... that's Vegas! But which airbase is this?
Nellis AFB. 7 miles from LV.
Wow, what an amazing aircraft.
All grunts love the B-52 because it takes allot of the work out of things 💨💨💨💨💨✈ DEATH FROM ABOVE ! 💀♠

B52 was shot down a lot in Vietnam, Vietnam was the only country to shoot down B52
El mejor de todos los tiempos B 52
They are so beautiful!
Buffs in Fighter Town!... 😃 ...Must've gotten their orders mixed up!...
Congratulations people! You are the best! Evolution element 115!
A true giants 🏴🇺🇲
Es maravillo ver tipos de aviones
Fabulosa nave
It's just a amazing 👏

Some smoky exhaust when taking off. It looks like the engines are using water injection or something!
