This reminds me a hell a lot of the modern game Duckgame. With all the whackiness and focus on weapons. And the huge amount of sprite scaling. Honestly I wonder if the dev of Duckgame was a fan of this game and wanted to make a modern online version of it
When I was teaching English in South Korea over twenty years ago, this game was in one of my neighborhood arcades. I loved playing it, and it was very popular with the other patrons of the arcade.
Input: I love these arcade reviews, i’ve been so interested personally in learning more what kind of arcade games released because they always look so pretty i’m beautiful and you’re allowing me to see these and get insight on them
Hey, you've accepted the sugestion that I made in the Cliffhanger video! :) Outfoxies is a good game with a great silly and over the top concept that is well executed. This is a game that should be more remembered by any people with interest in videogame history. I hope you have a great rest of your day too.
These new Arcade episodes are great, SNES drunk. I'm discovering great arcade games I've never heard of thanks to you. Please make this a regular thing.
After hearing you talk about one of my favourite 80s devs Data East in a recent video I would love to see a video in the future focusing on the best devs of super nintendo/arcade games or games of the 80s or 90s in general etc. It could become a series and I'd love it!
One of my favorite arcade games that’s never released in state side. The only critique I have of it is the sprites can scale too small and can’t see often and can be confusing but you get used it quick! Glad you’re bringing it up it really is a hidden gem
I do think the arcade game reviews are fun, since I know you have so many reviews you start to run out of places to look. I do have to say, my favorite reviews in general are for games that I am able to currently play in an official capacity. I know Data East and some others have released ports of arcade games on modern consoles, like a bunch on the Nintendo Switch. I would love to see more reviews like this for games that I actually could play an official version, as opposed to “any way you can”. Please keep up the good work.
I've heard of this game before, but seeing it in action is just insane. The constant zooming makes me woozy, but I can't take my eyes away from that lightning-quick sprite scaling.
Nice to see you tackle this interesting arena fighter. The backstories to some of these characters are just amusing as all Hell. I have to say that I was not expecting to hear that there’s only two buttons to this game. Color me surprised.
One of my favourite things about SNES Drunk videos is that you get right into it. There's no 'Hey, how's it going? It's me, SNES Drunk! Click like and subscribe! Here's a side story nobody cares about!' No fuss, no muss. Love it.
I used to play this game in a small arcade in Pasadena, CA. It was one of the best, most fun games I ever played. I beat it with every character. Surprised anyone knew about this one. Wish i knew where to play it today.
Outfoxies! This game is incredible. The level of detail and engagement is insane. I consider way better than Super Smash Bros b.c of how the levels are affected by various actions either the player takes themselves or is forced upon them through the passage of time and environmental hazards. It's so cool. Another game worthy of a look is "Boogie Wings". That game is insanely detailed and it's damned fun too
I found a magazine in YUMPU(.com) where it states this Arcade game had a Single Player Mode where you can fight Mr Acme's Helicopter? I would have liked to see that!! Oh, and there is an ending screen for each character, it seems. Cool find. Never heard of this before.
When I ran into this game years ago I couldn't believe how unknown this game was. A very, very addicting and well done action game. It's ridiculous and every fight is waaaay different from the previous one. Grab MAME and a friend and have a nice ride.
John Smith from Outfoxies for Smash Bros. He'd be a very appropriate retro pick who no one will see coming but pay respect to his series for superseding Smash Bros in the platformer fighter genre.
I can't get enough of this game lately. You can grab the controls in the plane and dump your opponent around the cabin. It's hilarious and the animation is really smooth
Awesome looking game, nice pick!! Looks like the perfect party game. Grab some food, friends, music, ofcourse the game, and you got yourself an evening!!
Still even today an avant garde, good looking, entertaining and addictive title. Sadly underrated at that time. I've lost tons of money on this at the arcade.
I made MAME bezel art for this one. This game isn't as good as I had hoped it would be. It's fun for a minute, but then you just want to play Smash Brothers. It was way ahead of its time.
Hi! Could I ask what emulator and core you’re using to run this game? This game, unfortunately, is notorious for not running smoothly on a LOT of emulators. Any help would be most appreciated 👍
I am digging these old school arcade videos.
Me to, leaning about new games to play
Elevator Action Returns crossed with Powerstone?
Man, this looks so cool!
That's Exactly what I was thinking too!!
This reminds me a hell a lot of the modern game Duckgame. With all the whackiness and focus on weapons. And the huge amount of sprite scaling. Honestly I wonder if the dev of Duckgame was a fan of this game and wanted to make a modern online version of it
I was watching a video on Elevator Action, remembered the amazing sequel and immediately thought of this game!
@@duffman18 I have in some way played this (Superfighters ring a bell for anyone?) But I now want to play this fucking game because it looks so cool!
When I was teaching English in South Korea over twenty years ago, this game was in one of my neighborhood arcades. I loved playing it, and it was very popular with the other patrons of the arcade.
This is the kind of craziness that makes 90s arcade games so fun.
Really great series of old arcade reviews. Please make more. Your good!
Thanks for watching
One of my favorite arcade games ever! Only ever seen it at one arcade.
Input: I love these arcade reviews, i’ve been so interested personally in learning more what kind of arcade games released because they always look so pretty i’m beautiful and you’re allowing me to see these and get insight on them

I hope you have a great rest of your day too.
The scaling effects definitely remind me of the old spiderman arcade game.
"hey, what if wes anderson made a fighting game?"
That's one hell of a pitch.
SOLD!
You had me at Wes Anderson.
-The New York Times
The Fantastic Mister Outfoxie.
Wes Anderson BEFORE he married Milla Jovovich to be exact.
These new Arcade episodes are great, SNES drunk. I'm discovering great arcade games I've never heard of thanks to you. Please make this a regular thing.
Your work is just great. Informative, unique and such fun to watch. I truly hope YT makes it worth your while.

Total length of video: 320 secs.
Total length of "SNES Drunk": 2 secs.
.63% of the video was spent listening to "SNES Drunk."
You say that as if it is a bad thing to say.
Very appreciative of the super cool harmony this particular episode!
One of my favorite arcade games that’s never released in state side. The only critique I have of it is the sprites can scale too small and can’t see often and can be confusing but you get used it quick! Glad you’re bringing it up it really is a hidden gem

seems like it takes some inspiration from the rolling thunder series with the controls. neat.
I've heard of this game before, but seeing it in action is just insane. The constant zooming makes me woozy, but I can't take my eyes away from that lightning-quick sprite scaling.

Awesome review. Also, you got a real good voice and narrative style for these kinds of videos. Keep it up.
Crazy how this game has never been acknowledged by Namco, the most it has gotten is that DLC T-shirt in NMH: Travis Strikes Again. That's it.
"Gotta play this any way you can" SNES Drunk, technically not encouraging emulation.
@Gabriel Lopes Absolutely, and my retro gaming culture wouldn't be 10% of what it is if I didn't emulate so many games when I was young.
Unless you want to pay thousands for an arcade PCB, and that's if you can even find one for sale in the first place.
The footage here reminds me of Elevator action returns for some reason.
One of my favourite things about SNES Drunk videos is that you get right into it. There's no 'Hey, how's it going? It's me, SNES Drunk! Click like and subscribe! Here's a side story nobody cares about!' No fuss, no muss. Love it.
one of the best videos yet. I thought you were going to hum Over The Rainbow during the intro lol
Loving your choice of arcade games to cover.
Mr. Acne?! Now that's an awsome name for a villian! AND I am loving these Arcade reviews!
Gameplay of this game is very original and all characters are so cool, this game deserves to be better known and to have more fan art.
decades(2) searching for this game!!! you're the best!
Keep the arcade reviews coming! Great stuff!
This looks awesome. I’ll have to try this one out. I think you mentioned Wind Jammers recently! I’d love to see a video on Wind Jammers.
These vids are great !! I had no idea this one existed and it looks amazing !! Thanks man
Got to respect the chaos in the environments. Gameplay looks fun. Never heard of this game before...thanks for posting.
I used to play this game in a small arcade in Pasadena, CA. It was one of the best, most fun games I ever played. I beat it with every character. Surprised anyone knew about this one. Wish i knew where to play it today.
The Galloping Ghost arcade in Chicago has a lot of cool games (including this one). They also had "Uchuu Daisakusen Chocovader Contactee"
Holy shit. I never seen or even heard this game before. I had no idea they had games like this back then. Thanks so much for this
1994: Namco invents the platform fighter
2014: Namco helps develop the the most famous series of the platform fighter
I absolutely love this game. One of my arcade favorites, absolutely inventive.
That game is insanely detailed and it's damned fun too
Discovered this a few years ago and cannot believe how overlooked it is.. Very fun game
Great analysis/review as always
Really cool looking game! Never heard of it; thanks for highlighting a hidden gem like this!
What a fantastic Arcade game! I'm getting this, thanks!
Looks crazy! Since you're on an arcade kick, I'd recommend Cannon Dancer (aka Osman), the spiritual sequel to Strider that never got a home release.
I found a magazine in YUMPU(.com) where it states this Arcade game had a Single Player Mode where you can fight Mr Acme's Helicopter? I would have liked to see that!! Oh, and there is an ending screen for each character, it seems.
Cool find. Never heard of this before.
Another great find, thanks Drunk!

So, what's the ending like?
KamEAleX - It’s a shame it’s a victim to bad timing and technology marching on. C’est la vie.
Different endings per character and the last level is you fighting the people who hired you in their death mansion.
Hi I want so bad to play it on my Pandora Box but I can t find a decent working mame rom...so sad😭
Nice one SD. Gonna check if that's on my emulator. Looks as wild as Edward Randy: Cliffhanger
Just loving the Arcade reviews, I said this about a year ago :)
Omg, now all Smash Bros.'s stage hazards and weird stage transformations has an origin!
This looks so freaking fun!!! I would have played this sooo much with friends if there ever would have made a home console version!
This game is the inspiration for Superfighters. And that game is rockin'.
Merry Christmas SNES drunk 🎄
Whenever you say "this is another one you gotta play anyway you can" in a video i feel like you're winking at me. ehehehe
Love this game. I never saw it in any arcades though. I stumbled across it from watching Rerezs video a few years ago.
John Smith from Outfoxies for Smash Bros. He'd be a very appropriate retro pick who no one will see coming but pay respect to his series for superseding Smash Bros in the platformer fighter genre.
One of the hidden gems of arcade!!
You've outdone yourself once again, sir!
This looks freaking amazing.
Love that you're doing arcade reviews now. Any chance you'll do a video on the arcade game of "Aliens" with all of its '90s-ness?
I flippin love Outfoxies, and no one ever talks about it! Great video ^_^b
Pretty sure this was released in the USA, I played it at a dive bar in Massachusetts in the late 90s.
You need more subscribers. I love your channel.
I can't get enough of this game lately. You can grab the controls in the plane and dump your opponent around the cabin. It's hilarious and the animation is really smooth
I definitely need to try that game out because it looks so fun to play
Thx for this ! didn't knew about this game, pretty awesome !
Daamit, another game I didn't know when I was a kid that I would have love. Such is life.
10 people dont recognise they have just watched the best RUclips channel 👍🔥😊
Really underrated and unique game. Loved playing this!
Yay!! You featured outfoxies!
Another awesome looking game I've never even heard of. Two in a row now.
Well, SNES Drunk messed around and made me realize my life isn't complete until I try this game. Jesus Christ bananas, that's looks fun as hell!
insanely fun game. deserves more recognition
Why would they possibly want to have the whale impale itself on a trident!? LOL
I was scrolling through the comments like "Why isn't anybody talking about that poor innocent whale?", so thanks!
If I remember correctly you said you're more of a PC gamer now, ever think of doing some dosdrunk?
Excellent pick! This game rules.
So awesome
I have never heard of this one at all
I need this game
Oh hell yes Mr Drunk, a true man of the people!
You need to get you some Willow Arcade Snesdrunk.
Nice work again Snesdrunk! Windjammer would be a great video ! !
Great review dude!
I made MAME bezel art for this one. This game isn't as good as I had hoped it would be. It's fun for a minute, but then you just want to play Smash Brothers. It was way ahead of its time.
I will DEFINITELY try to play this "any way I can", hopefully in my NES Classic.
Thanks SNES Drunk, I'll give this one a go. There's so many MAME games out there it's difficult to know what's worth playing, apart from the obvious.
Hi! Could I ask what emulator and core you’re using to run this game? This game, unfortunately, is notorious for not running smoothly on a LOT of emulators. Any help would be most appreciated 👍
This was ported to consoles through a Taito collection. XB/PS2 generation. I have it.
This looks like so much fun!
A 2 on 2 mode might be cool. Maybe Namco could bring it back.
Good lord... this game looks AWESOME!
It may not of been possible to release this game on a home console at the time but, it could definitely run out one now (hint hint)
I really like the arcade series.
Seriously who downvotes these? Love these videos. I didn't even know this game existed and I'm glad I do now
OMG I never saw this one in the wild. But I am very intrigued. This would make an awesome mobile game.
You’re the best, Drunk!
Looks like a remake would be a great idea.
All this game needs is a couch, some buddies, and some beers
I know for sure that I haven't played this game yet seen it,but why does this feel so familiar?
Great video btw
