Some of the smartest people I know in the world cannot spell yet they can make a thousand in a week with good business ethics and a passion for what they know and vice versa, silly smart folk. My advice to the youth of today, as an educated idiot, is to fill your heads with knowledge and not with information. Learn how to do things and not just learn things. A good tradesman has more chance in the world than a great banker. A paramedic can offer a better service than a paralegal. A mortician is more important than a mortgage broker.. you catch my drift here. Don't feel like you're stupid because you're labelled as dumb.
Aston University is right by Birmingham city centre and is surrounded by businesses, shops, industry etc. Loads of people walk through the campus as part of their daily commute.
A lot of kids are quite a bit smarter than myself (68) and many others of an older generation. Its easy to be critical, these kids are just finding their way in life. I struggled to pass exams but I managed English and Maths "O" level (and 3 others), none of them really helping much to be honest. Often kids will help if I struggle with a phone or PC and be happy to do so when asked.
