Let’s take a moment to appreciate the pianist’s friendly face throughout the video
totally!!!! i love it
Are u being sarcastic with this comment tho
😊
He's in love ❤😂
Hes Cute
My grandmother asked me to learn this song and sing it for her for her 90th birthday coming up next month. I do a lot of musical theatre but am not an opera singer. This video is so incredibly helpful! Thank you!!
How did it go? I hope she got what she wished for.
@@demonzblood69she absolutely loved it ❤️ she has since passed away, and I'm so glad I was able to sing it for her before that.
@@PhonesOfOurLives that's beautiful. She is happy in heaven.
My condolences 🙏
You're amazing! Also the pianist is very good.
I actually feel sorry for the pianst having to start and stop all the time he is cute tho, right?
Freya Casey make sure he knows that a lot of people think he’s cute :)
@@spicelord7764 Now I'm wondering how many shades of red he turned. 😉
@@thefreyacaseymusic Yes, the pianist looks cute and I like the way you teach and sing! :-)
Thank you, Freya for bringing back my passion for learning opera. Your name truly suits you for bringing fallen heroes to the light.
WOW That is beautiful. Hearing this video explanation did the same for me today!!
I just need somewhere to practise now without annoying my neighbours 😅
x_peach_princess_x that’s a whole mood
and family lol.
Same problem ...🖐️
If i wanna sing, i will get inside the car and start singing loudly
I know I’m in the attic hope they can’t hear
Great teaching here! Congratulations to the singer and the pianist. You guys rock! That is, you guys opera! ❤
Bravo. Pianist so patient
Thanks!
Hey im a 19 years old Guy and loves to sing Opera. I'll try to learn this
One warning I discovered- I'm a mezzo soprano and we're not 'allowed' to modify the key when singing an aria from an operas. It's infuriating! There are arias that are simply off limits? Even outside of the opera itself? Apparently so!
Of course you can change the key (even outside the opera). There's no limits to this. Where did you get your information from @@frankG335?
How is it going, 23-year-old guy? Are you performing in Opera now?
@@demonzblood69Lol. Wild🤣
You are such a blessing, Freya! Although I never had any formal training in opera music or classical music, and I'm not sure if I'll ever get a chance to sing this song or any similar songs, but thank you for this video! You are so amazing! God bless you!
Amen.
This is beautiful, and educational for us non-singers to try to appreciate some of the complexities.
I admire you for mentioning the importance of pronunciation at the very first.
"O Mio Babbino Caro" is my most favourite opera song but I sometimes get a little irritated when hearing non-natives sing the song with many mistakes in pronunciations especially,... rolling tongue when flat "L" needs to be pronounced, or omitting all the rolls.(I am not native speaker of Italian but I used to live in Italy and became really familiar with Italian pronunciations.)
I think it is so important work on pronunciations to achieve better diction, to show respect to the language the song was written, to emphathize with the song to the maximum extent, etc.
You are more than wonderful vocal teacher ❤.. I love the pianist!! Beautiful and phenomenal explanations in there.🙏🙏🥰🥰❤
Grazie mille Freya!!
I love the dramatic colouring -- very warm and accessible direction...
Stunning vox , and sweet sympathetic pianist.
I'm learning English each day and I know how many difficulties there are in a new language so I really appreciate your accent and the pronunciation of these Italian words (and the "r" pronunciation as well). Very good job!
I was dying for these videos, I will star practicing right now.
Oh my dear papa
I like him, he is so handsome.
I want to go to Porta Rossa
To buy the ring!
Yes, yes, I want to go there!
And if my love were in vain,
I would go to the Ponte Vecchio
And throw myself in the Arno!
I am pining, I am tormented!
Oh God, I would want to die!
Father, have pity, have pity!
Father, have pity, have pity!
what a great video, you are an amazing teacher
Thanks for the translation
This song is absolutely challenging, which I love It's one of my favorites. I have been asked to sing this song at someone's wedding. Which I'm so excited about, and since it' my first time singing in front of many people. I got most of Omi Babbino Caro down. Except for a couple of words. Seeing this video helped me a lot I just wanted to say thank you so much.
"Make sure there's like 20 t's in there." I'm just a fan of this song. Listening to her detailed information is amazing.
Very Beautiful soprano voice you have! I had troubles with this Aria because I had a underdeveloped chest voice and I am a very light soprano. You gave a very helpful advice about the chest voice!
One thing that worked for me is the "laugh" sensation (not smiling, just inner sensation) in the lowest range to avoid lowering the larynx too much and keeping the chiaroscuro .
👍👍👍
I'm going to be singing this as the offeratory at my Unitarian Universalist church in a few weeks, and I found this video tremendously helpful.
Musica Divina ,che ci fa tanto bene al cuore, eccellent e bravissimi il soprano ed il pianista
Everything is great: you are a great singer, a great artist and a great teacher, and your pianist is a great musician too.
Your explanation is marvelous. Than you and your wonderful pianist. I enjoy listening.😊
Excellent thanks so much. You make me feel like I can do this after all. I've been having a crisis of confidence lately.
Not a musician, but I love operas, and I really like your singing and voice.
I am a vocalist, but alas not in opera. The work that goes in to arias like this most beautiful of arias is a monumental effort. Freya Casey, just brilliant.
Excellent teacher this one.
Wonderful teacher for me. You have a beautiful voices and I also appreciated your frendly pianist. Thanks.
More videos for helping us, amateur opera singers, to grow more in this industry. (My conductor told me to vocalize more with proper technique but I often struggle with it)
Have a look at the book by Oren Brown titled Discover Your Voice. You might have to order it as it could be out of print. This book is a must have for any singer. It teaches technique, how the voice functions, how to work with young voices and develop the voices of singing students. Oren Brown's Discover your voice is just incredibly full of all things related to healthy singing and a how to kickstart your singing career.
This is a treasure
I can't thank you enough, for I've been practicing this song for some time. Your most dedication is admirable.
I love how your teach are fitting details in one lesson, It's enjoyable, I finished the whole video
PS the pianist seem to enjoying your lesson also
I lost my voice 20 some years ago you are showing the right way i may be able to practice every fay with you
This piece of music already reduces me to tears. You have made it even more emotional for me. Thank you. xxx

Love those portamentos too. Thanks for the instructions.
Freya is an amazing singer and a fabulous teacher!! I highly recommend her Masterclass for Singers. I've been her student for a year now and I could write 10 pages about what a great teacher she is but I'll leave it at...FABULOUS!!
Gorgeous tysm for sharing
Amazing! I want to enter bgt singing this and you have taught me so much!!!
Love this interpretation!! Awesome lesson! Thank you.
What a fab tutorial Thankyou. You have a voice of an 👼
Merci beaucoup pour ce merveilleux cours de chant
It would be better to say that the Arno flows through Florence because in the aria, Lauretta mentions she wants to go to Porta Rossa to buy the ring and if Babbino does not consent she wants to jump off Ponte Vecchio - both Porta Rossa and Ponte Vecchio are in Florence.
Bravo! Really love Italian Opera! Thanks!
Sou Brasileira mas consigo aprender com vc. Obrigada minha musa.
Beautifully taught, thank you so much! ~ Gen 😇🌸

You changed the fullness of my tone instantly.
Thank you, this is absolutely brilliant! My teacher has just given me this aria to sing and this video was a great help to me in understanding the phrasing and vocal position.

Jetzt kann ich's. Danke für dieses Video!🤣
Wonderful teacher
Great video. Please do more for us opera students
God bless you Freya, am so glad to have found this tutorial if yours... love you.
The river Arno flows through Florence, as well. Not only through Pisa, as it were! Actually, that's where Porta Rossa is to be found too. In Florence, that is.
Many thanks, amazing tutorial.... I go high at the end, rather than coming down. I like it that way!
Brava, brava! Anche la pronuncia !Bravissima!
Hey Freya, Just starting to learn this song with the help of my vocal coach as well. I love your down-to-earth style. I understand everything you are saying! Well done! Thank you so much.
I like this song!! And sing.
I love opera
So angelic! Thanks for posting. Excellent instructions.♥️
Extraordinary Master Class -- thank you very much!!!
This is my first time listening to a video by this young lady. I've just begun to listen to it because I'd like to encourage a young Chinese girl to learn to sing an aria from an opera and I was looking at this one. In her introductory words, Freya mentions that the young lady she's singing about is going to Pisa. In the real opera I believe she's going to Florence as she mentions that she's going to buy a ring there at the jewelry stores located on the bridge. Then she says that if her father doesn't let her be with her new love, she's going to throw herself off the Ponte Vecchio into the river. The Ponte Vecchio is in Florence, not Pisa. I just wanted to point this out. It in no way reflects on this marvelous video. The best to all of you.
Yes im here after watching the kdrama : the penthouse 😂😂😂im in love with opera
oh my god same with me HAHAHAHAHAAH
Wonderful
I love this tutorial! I am a middle school student and I have been passionate to be a pop singer. But i thought that it would be really nice to be capable of singing a range of songs, so I can present my ranges when it comes to the music college time (i want to get into julliard). But classical opera is also so beautiful and I personally love it along with western music❤❤ thank you for inspring me❤❤❤❤
I love the pianist.
My favorite aria. Had it sung at my wedding.
So fascinating and so thrilling just seeing you teach and sing this opera favourite. Truly enjoy and appreciate how beautiful the voice is.......
I was singing along! I love this song! Thank you!
please do more. I am subscribed. Los of arias out there that are beautiful. I have tried exercises but they don't seem to work. I find the best way to get my voice going is just singing stuff like this. Can't figure that out, but it seems to be motivation to make something beautiful. This is a great aria because you can really make it very emotional and be very creative, like you're a teen girl, about to die if you can't marry the guy. Of course 5 years later and 3 kids they want to kill one another every day, but that's a whole other opera. wait, they don't write operas about that now, do they? ah, an entire niche open to lyricists. haha
Beautiful piano
Very helpful. Great teacher.
Excellent tutorial.. Have been singing this for a while and it's really helped refine my technique 😊
A lovely, helpful singing lesson!

Pieta was so difficult but now I can see the pieta clearly. Vowel brings the note to note.
