    The idea is good, but we need to consider the possibility of that plants and birds and insects living in them can cause damage and degradation to the building... And we should pay attention to prevent the plants from breaking the entrance of light through windows.

    Neat idea but maintenance costs much be huge, once the maintenance can be largely automated, especially if they can do modular robust hydroponics, this might work at large scales

    • @home-space
      @home-space 7 лет назад +2

      Ryukachoo exactly. Will almost be a full time job to maintain them and also very dangerous. Also health and safetyy with branches falling off the building onto people below. Ivy on buildings can cause major wrath tightness problems

    • @MadChrisp
      @MadChrisp 7 лет назад +9

      Ryukachoo not necessarily. "Maintainance" mostly means controling their size every week or every other week or so. Doesnt look like there are any large branches that can just fall off and do any type of damage. And clean up doesnt look all that conplicated.

    • @evergreen-
      @evergreen- 7 лет назад +3

      Aah, people... can’t you think in a broader way? Such buildings reduce air pollution. It was reported in the video that there’re dozens of thousands of people in Italy that die from deceases related to the pollution; we can conjecture that there’re many thousands more that don’t die but still suffer from the same problem. When a person has health issues, they go to a hospital. Typically, a government is responsible for providing high-quality medical services; this means that it has to spend a lot of money on getting these people healthy again. So the point is: huge amounts are already being spent because of air pollution, so why don’t we build houses that help us solve the issue with pollution and also are gorgeous to look and live at? After all, everything we have to care about is people, not money.

    • @home-space
      @home-space 7 лет назад +1

      I would rather see less rainforests being cut down. Although there are merits in this type of thing, it is largely tokenism. Guessing teh trees will also need replacing every so often as they get too big and heavy. Trimming branches can only do so much, unless they bonsai them. Wouldn't work very well in high wind areas either, I suspect as they would need tying to the building structure to prevent them being ripped out..

    • @MattiaRighetti

    amazing view. But 2 questions:
    1) problem of permanent cleaning of the contaminated facade (birds on trees will crawl, polluting the walls)
    2) passers-by safety below (suddenly the tree dries and falls down)...

    • @lathangt
      @lathangt 5 лет назад

      Bigger in-city parks with lots of trees works quite well. No danger of a tree falling on you from 40 stories up,.Birds and bugs don't really bother us in well treed parks. What happens down the road when we learn that CO2 is not our enemy at all, and the SUN is the cause of climate change?

    Neat Idea. My solution to the Global warming problem is to have Gene Modified Plant that grows faster and absorbs more CO2 and requires less water and limits its growth in terms of space, bears no fruit. That way we can plant them even in small apartments and same tech used for new forestation for Big Trees. Fruits bearing from such trees and there health complications will have to be tested though.

I could never live in a city, doesn´t matter how nice it is,.. they´re too noise because of the traffic, the air is too dirty,... 3 weeks in vienna was enough, then I moved back to the countryside, screw the better paid job in the city, the health of my lungs is worth much more and my dog thinks the same I guess.
