The book she's talking about is probably "Poppy" which features a mouse with an earring that (spoiler alert) gets eaten by an owl and their earring ends up in an owl pellet.
@@chipmunkm4nYou might be imagining it being written more gruesomely than it was. I remember it being the appropriate amount of scary, and I was a sensitive kid.
But it's normal, no? That's not messed up You guys even eat someone's lover or husband or whatever. We eat chickens, cow meat... And im not a vegan. Just a reminder we eat animals too
I loved going to the school library as a 5th-8th grader because there were these crazy inappropriate stories that clearly matched the librarian's kink. They can get away with far more nutty stuff with just words than compared to a graphic novel or a movie.
In high school in an English class we studied Mary Shelly's Frankenstein and at the end of it the teacher let us watch the 1994 film starring Robert De Niro. We had to stop in the middle because it was longer than the class. The next day the teacher told us that we would not be watching the rest of the film due to the death of a classmate's sister in a house fire that had just happened that morning. It was a really sad week after that, and the classmate didn't come back for nearly a month. But because I am a film obsessive I got to wondering why we couldn't watch the rest of Frankenstein. Literally the next scene from where we left off was the scene where Elizabeth sees her reflection and then sets herself on fire

Sounds pretty fucked up for an elementary school level book.

Ah yes, Of Mice and Men... I love the part when the mouse says, "Tell me about the Rabbits...." with tears in their eyes.

Halloween is coming 😂
It is kinda bizarre to me how often the people who are teaching kids how the world works just straight up lie to them
The book that nerissa was talking about is Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH.
