I think Jeremy is too optimistic. Sadly we are seeing a decline and people are starting to identify more with their ethnic groups. The closest we got to unifying everyone in America was probably the 80s-2000s. That all broke apart in the 2010s. I used to believe we had a unified future. Now I don’t see that. I live in a very diverse part of the country and it’s very left-leaning politically here. There is no community as immigration increases. Crime has gone up because no one feels connected to the city they live in. No sense of duty to each other. It’s depressing…
I was 14 when it came out and I was obsessed and totally in love with Leo. But I never assumed jack and rose were real people. Obviously I knew the history and the characters that were people but I guess I just went into it assuming the love story was made up. 🤷🏻♀️
