Wow! He was warned but he refused the warning. "He being often rebuked and hardens his neck will suddenly be destroyed and that without remedy". Had his pride not gotten in the way he wouldn't have run into this problem.
People coming from other countries to work in UK need to be sensitised. This is not racism. There are things we do in Africa that is not allowed in Europe. Work place is for work. This is sexual harassment at work. I know of a male manager who whispered just one word to a female staff and got kicked out from work. Stick to your work at work place.
Working in the care sector for 18yrs i have witnessed few stories like my brothers'...you have to read the room bro. Seen these new guys coming in MOST of them appear to know it all and don't listen that's all i can say. He got advice from a dude who's been here longer. There's certain stuff you can get away with back home but when you are here it's a no go area.
A lot of brothers fall to the same trap being over friendly with the colleague’s. The other trap is Christmas parties or work events that involve alcohol. When allegations are made the guy is dismissed
THE WORK PLACE IF FOR 'WORK' AND IS NOT A PLACE TO MEET/DATE OR FORM FRIENDSHIPS. YES IT IS POSSIBLE TO MAKE FRIENDS AT WORK BUT BECAUSE SOMEONE IS POLITE TO YOU AT WORK DOES NOT MEAN THEY WANT TO HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU . WHILE AT WORK DONT COMMENT ABOUT PEOPLES PERSONAL OR SOCIAL LIFE OR PHYSCIAL ATTRIBUTES , ALWAYS REMEMBER WHILE YOU ARE AT WORK .
Nonsense, there is absolutely nothing racist here, what we call banter in many parts of Africa, over here it can easily amount to inappropriate language/sexual harassment.
These things happened in healthcare sectors in the diaspora. Most of the time, they bait one or lead one into this type of situation. Not knowing is a trap. Then the guy 👦🏾 will think 🤔 the girl is feeling him. Omo no go fall that hockie dockie.
Not a victim of racism, his own silliness has caused him that. Things like can be done with your own friends not work colleagues. You deal with work colleagues professionally on all levels no matter what. You don’t cross the line on such behaviours
Based on what you narrated, the guy is wrong. It is not racism. Why the excessive flirting with a woman who is not his wife, when he is married. He lacks emotional intelligence and focus. You primarily go to work to work and make money and not for friendship and romance. Sad he learned the hard way.
If it's not work related, mind the conversation! Even if the talks has been appropriate every other time, a 'lady' can decide to say otherwise when she feels like (mood).
If he was not warned, it would have been different !!! As a foreigner, one has to just stay away from workmates !!! No personal or social closeness. It's work only !!! Even as a joke, the same person who accepted your joke may turn it around to accusation !!!
Most times, our people display casual , unease ,to (Oyibo) not knowing their limit to create unconscious bais, I ve witnessed it several times. Also, lack of respect to their fellow Africans at work place.
It shocks me when health and social care professionals gets entangled in this kind of situation All health social care professionals receive sone knowledge about professional boundaries and safeguarding yet sone still fall victim including child protection cases
Iam registered nurse in USA I donot hugs I am not friendly iam serious at my work not there to make friends.Mr Francis you have gay nurses today they overly friendly next they mood change and file complaint and he keeps his job while other nurse fired
@Lunchclubb Every body is learning no doubt about that, you are not sincere cos the truth is bitter YOU are scared to mention other nationalities but quick to mention Nigeria in everything what a shame
He did not heed to advice because he's arrogant. He crossed the line. Why would he ask if her partner was a good kisser I feel pity for the wife. Thanks for sharing
This man was too casual about the sex harrassment which one might get away with in Africa. Do you know if you accuse someone of racism and you don't have evidence to support it, You get into trouble yourself for false accusations.
To before warned is to before armed. He was warned he would have think of where he is coming from and why he is in the in foreign land.He didn't come to make friends but to work and better his life and that if his loved ones and family I know of many people that don't like hugs so before hugging any one ask or take permission and keep your professional life away from your social life.
Hay Francis look I work in one job for 13 years i,am the only black man and this job every one is white I still at my job today I never kiss up to these people
Bro Frances, I think its good to mention name and country too whenever the person id from another country. There is nothing like African man. I have equally observer that when ppl correct you about that, you always say that the person shoul learn the lesson and forget about the country. Once its a Nigeria, you always forget that Nigeria is part of africa country. To me, it looks as if you are beeing bais. Though this is just my opinion.
Thank you for your feedback. I try to limit the number of times I mention Nigeria. There are times when the individuals are Nigerians that I use Africa . I am a proud Nigerian.
