I got this video popping in my reccomendations and I'm so happy to have found this! Red Orchestra 2/Rising Storm 1 is my absolute favourite, specially Rising Storm 1. Not only I sinked many hours in, I just don't think nothing compares to it. The way it depicts war, the horrors of it, the tired look of the german soldiers in the Bridges Map, or the sound of the MG42 being shot inside the Grain Elevator, the feeling of a hopeless battle... And of course, everything in Rising Storm 1, going up that hill in Iwo and winning... I never got a chance to play Heroes of The West, so this is awesome as well. I'm actually getting now into Rising Storm 2, it took me a lot because the game felt a little more 'off' than Rising Storm 1/Red Orchestra 2, but It finally clicked and I'm happy to have more hours of the same kind of game I enjoy. People say overall the game is very arcade, I get what they say, you can run more and get tired less etc, but still the TTK is perfect and that's what's important for me, a game like this with a high TTK would just be another COD... Anyway, what campaign/Theather of War is supposed to appear at the beginning? Is it the so called new theathre? It makes me think of a Rhodesia Campaign, that would honestly be interesting, lately i've been thinking that could be an awesome time period to cover that could fit the series tone. But ultimately, might it be Rhodesia or whatever, this is such great news. With the cancellation of '83, Tripwire ignoring RS2 and RO, this news brings me so much joy, these games are awesome and everyday that passes they risk of becoming more and more niche. The playerbase are solid (More so in RS2) but if you have a couple of games in a series that never updates nor gets new installments, there's always a risk of the game falling into obscurity... I'm happy you guys are working in new stuff for this game, and picking up where the devs left it and giving more life to the games. Thanks. Looking forward for this to come!!
It's not Rhodesia, it's an upcoming new Royal Thai Army faction for GOM 4 mod. As the player speaks Thai and using HK33 (Their standard-issue rifle during Vietnam War). But tbh African Cold War theatres like Rhodesian Bush War, Portuguese Colonial War, or South African Border War would be epic to see.
There should be a game based on violent gritty Brit TV shows / TV movies of about 1978 to 1992. The violence and gore in those just hit different. Only on a "bigger budget". Northern Ireland breaking into open conflict, the Falklands and finally the opening moves of WW3 in Germany.

I think the main problem is that none of these new WW2 games have worked in the atmosphere, they all have the gunplay, maps, mechanics, but in no shooter other than RO2 ive heard genuine sounding voicelines, or soldiers screaming for help after getting shot. that its something that made a very subtle but effective "war is hell" message, that no other game has replicated
@@apyr1439 Yeah that's exactly it. Another advantage is the RO games have more focused maps. Also really excited for the new theatres with the KMT faction and Burma being teased in the vid.
Excited for this project, but I can't stop thinking that a Spanish Civil War theater would be so cool. A very unique war that is sadly underrepresented in videogames. Huge variety of units inside each faction, funny little tanks, emblematic airplanes of Axis and USSR, international brigades, etc.

Much prefer the omission of aim-down-sight zooms, with the zoom every grunt becomes a sniper. Maybe instead of making the Shift key zoom up your screen to simulate "focus" like in RO2, make it increase resolution at the center area of the screen and blur out the area around it to balance the hardware performance requirement?
I play GOM quite often and I actually love there not being an auto zoom on iron sights, feels a lot better for this game's gunplay. Marksmen are basically redundant in base game since engagements rarely happen at more than 100 meters in rs2 regardless.
Good old times, 2011 and 2012 when only game I played religously was RO2, a masterpiece of a game. No other WW2 FPS matched its immersion. Those voices and yells, just awesome, and main thing later games like Post Scriptum and Hell Let Loose lacked. Those native German voices, made playing them like a drug, lol.

Jesus the music. Getting goosebumps all over my skin. I wish could go back and play those massive long mp campaigns on hardcore realism again all day long. I always had a blast with everyone in the voicechat shit talking, roleplaying and just be stupid and have fun like little boys lol. This was truely an exceptional game which combined realism and fun perfectly. Now compare that to Hell let Loose lol. RO3 where are you...
Wow, thank you guys so much! This is truly exactly what everyone wanted. Really happy to see RS1 again. Any plans to include the Talvisota: Winter War mod?
They said in a developer stream that if they want to port Talvisota every asset will have to be remade as they think that the assets are not professional enough. Moreover, The Continuation War is planned so even if Talvisota is not ported over the Finns will return regardless.
We do have Italian Army as Axis in plans for North African campaign. Currently it has several weapons made such as Beretta 34, 38, 38/42 and SRCM 35 HE/Smoke, but its still on halt due to geopolitical events.
Amazing! All those are awesome, I like it a lot but only thing I don't really like are sights for M1 Carbine and Thompson. Too wide. If that will be fixed, awesome realistic game.
I've been trying to refill the void left by peak RO2 for many years since 2013. Many a high school and community college nights was ended with a session of RO2/RS1. RS2 was fun and great, but it just wasn't RO2. Now, I'm in my late 20's, going to grad school next year and it feels like I come back full circle with this. I'll be there day 1 and hope this brings back one of my favorite multiplayer games from my youth.
Words can't describe the feelings hearing the RO2 soundtrack and seeing the old maps again. Too bad the RS2 unreal build is kinda quirky in general and it won't ever feel quite like RO2 did gameplay wise unless they fix literally everything. Edit: That rainbow road map is probably the greatest shitpost I've ever seen in this game, next to the Mos Eisely Cantina map.

Man, RO2 has always been my favourite FPS. GOM mod, Heroes of the West are by far the best mods for the game and to see a revamp but with so much more potential, I am beyond words! Can't wait
My left hand habitually press alt button when hearing the RO2 music. Seems my rifleman is calling me
I've forgotten how unbelievably immersive those games are
I got sad when i heard "83" was cancelled.
I smile again when i heard RO2 is coming back.
good job!
I’m so glad heroes of the west is included!!! Thank you for all the hard work!
You guys have shown you are very capable of modding big projects in Rising Storm 2, with 83 essentially being cancelled what if you guys attempted making your own version of 83 in rising storm 2
Of course attempt this after you are done with black orchestra
Moreover, The Continuation War is planned so even if Talvisota is not ported over the Finns will return regardless.
this game along side rs2 was my game during pandemic. hopefully more player will come
Favorite WW2 game.
Nothing will ever top this!
Seeing the bushland and that G-3 gave me flashbacks to Far Cry 2...
The soundtrack really hits different after so many years away from the game
You guys are awesome for this :)))
Men that is so cool, red orchestra 2 was an master piece
You guys are doing something we've all asked for but never received... Now this is the moment we've all been waiting for !!
Literally the only way this could be better is of it had the Romania/Italian factions from RO1 mods, looking forwards to this.
We do have Italian Army as Axis in plans for North African campaign. Currently it has several weapons made such as Beretta 34, 38, 38/42 and SRCM 35 HE/Smoke, but its still on halt due to geopolitical events.
@@BlackOrchestraWorldfront37-54 I wasn't aware, this got even more awesome.
I'm so sad that antimatter have been dissolved. Thank you for continuing to work on this expansion mod
Long Live Red Orchestra series!

Amazing! All those are awesome, I like it a lot but only thing I don't really like are sights for M1 Carbine and Thompson. Too wide. If that will be fixed, awesome realistic game.
Would be amazing if the team ports over the Tank system from RO2, I miss looking around the interior as bullets impact the tank.
Few graphical improvements and shading and this could become a HLL killer, especially with the new development teams
First time hearing about this, sounds cool as hell
Words can't describe the feelings hearing the RO2 soundtrack and seeing the old maps again. Too bad the RS2 unreal build is kinda quirky in general and it won't ever feel quite like RO2 did gameplay wise unless they fix literally everything.
Edit: That rainbow road map is probably the greatest shitpost I've ever seen in this game, next to the Mos Eisely Cantina map.
I don’t even have PC and I hope this goes well it looks like a lot of work put into this it’s almost scenic. Bravo
1937… ARE WE FINALLY GETTING A SINO JAPANESE WAR SHOOTER?
Absolutely phenomenal, Rising Storm 1&2 Red Orchestra 1&2 are goated games. Lord knows I’m gonna be playing this immediately on release
probably one of the best looking war games ever made!
