@@girardvolleyball no the chutes you have to hike from McConkey lift I’m pretty sure, west face bowl you can get to from Jupiter lift and stay on your skis most of the way, the part you do have to walk isn’t very steep so it’s a lot more enjoyable to get there
As someone whose never even attempted a black diamond but has seen enough of these videos to know that the go pro is never able to actually show how truly steep trails are, I can only imagine how steep this actually was
This season I went from not being confident on blues to being confident on blacks and some double blacks Hopefully I’ll be able to do this if I make it out to Utah again
Have you skied 9990 express? I'm in Park City for a few weeks and hit all the runs off 9990 today. Looking at hitting Jupiter peak tomorrow. How does it compare if you've done both? Thanks!
the camera does not do the steepness justice, it's way steeper than it looks, amazing runs especially when there is fresh snow, I would not do any of these if it hasn't snowed in many days...
Smart decision on the middle chute. The scary thing is often looking at features/chutes, rough patches and being like, “yep I can do that”...and you get in there and you’re like...”okay...hold on.”
I’ve only been skiing for 2 years (prob a solid green, maybe blue in skill level) I attempted this along with some of the other double black bowls while I was out there and I can truly say it was a wild experience. May not have been the smartest thing to go that far out of my level but it def took me out of my comfort zone and made me a better skier. Also had a hell of a time doing the runs 😂
Dang that’s awesome! Yeah Jupiter is pretty scary looking from the top. As long as you have some fresh snow, you’ll be fine. When it gets icy, it’s a little sketch haha. Glad to hear you had a good time.
Mconkeys is probably a shorter hike but much steeper . Jupiter has a longer gradual approach to the summit , which you can reach from a cat track right off the lift. In my opinion Jupiter lift is a better choice.

@@sh1elds I skied Jupiter Bowl after a big snow dump. Where I jumped in there was a ~15 foot cliff to get into the bowl. The deep powder slows you way down and even being very steep is not too difficult. The icy day kutthroat was skiing is way harder. west face bowl when you get off the jupiter lift is also awesome, less of a hike and a lot less scary but still super fun
Which run? The chutes? Ive never been there but heading there this winter and looking to learn about the trails.

Yeah it is amazingly steep. You truly have to be there to see how steep it actually is. Hopefully one day you’ll be able to ski it!
Yeah your mountains put our little hills to shame. What a awesome ride!! Thanks for sharing.
Wow, this makes me really want to go out to utah to ski
Floyd Outdoors we could point you to some sweet runs if you ever come out! Utah has some of the best snow in the world 😎
@Brooks Wolsefer What resort? IUf you haven't gone yet I'll give you a huge guide.
@@MaxGreenSkiFilms I’m in park city rn 😂
@@lexsharma2753 deer valley or canyons? Want some run advice?
Skiing today at 9:30-4:00 definitely going to try this run out 🔥
Good luck! Let us know how the snow is up there!!

Awesome! The snow has been amazing. Hoping for a repeat season next year. Have a great summer!!
Have you skied 9990 express? I'm in Park City for a few weeks and hit all the runs off 9990 today. Looking at hitting Jupiter peak tomorrow. How does it compare if you've done both? Thanks!
It’s not too bad, the chutes are narrower but the steepness is similar to what you would see on the steep 9990 runs
the camera does not do the steepness justice, it's way steeper than it looks, amazing runs especially when there is fresh snow, I would not do any of these if it hasn't snowed in many days...

It never does it justice lol

Yea thanks for the input! Definitely had second thoughts especially when doing it alone. With another person would have felt much better about it!

I love this run it’s sooooo much fun
It is! Have you done it recently?
Was this "the Chutes"? run
Nice video!! I was a lifty on Jupiter and Pioneer for a few years back in the early 90s. Brought back some memories, thanks!!
Thats awesome! I bet the 90's were a fun time to ski!
That is my favorite thing to ski in Park City
Us too! Hopefully we can get some snow soon so we can get up there! ❄️
How long did it take you to get to the top?
30 minutes
Nice views y’all did a nice job on this one
Lonnie Pawl As always, thanks for the support!
Nice Shearing dear big like
Food and adventurous life thank you:)
I really only stick to the blues 😂 What run was that?
Jupiter Peak haha pretty intense stuff up there
Very beautifull my friend
almost fell off a cliff - ask us about the experience!
Lol
And I thought telluride was insane
I'm 12 and I like this run
Very impressive!!! Nice.
Thank you
Sweet views
In your opinion, which chair has easier hike to Jupiter Peak, McConkey's or Jupiter?
Mconkeys is probably a shorter hike but much steeper . Jupiter has a longer gradual approach to the summit , which you can reach from a cat track right off the lift. In my opinion Jupiter lift is a better choice.
Be there soon! 3/22/21 - 3/26/21
Awesome! Hopefully we get some fresh powder for your trip.
How was it up there?

Wait which trail is this specificily. Because there are a bunch of trails off jupiter
Take 9990 or mconkeys and need to hike up to summit. Not named trail
I did this run when I was 11, so scary! Nice vid tho
When you were 11?! You’re crazy. Hopefully you get to do it again soon. It’s quite the run.
What skiis were you on?
Atomic twin tips
tore this up when i was 6
Haha I would love to see a 6 year old hit Jupiter.
But where do you access the cat track from??
Off of the Jupiter lift just go left and stay left you will run into it eventually- then you need to hike to top of Jupiter peak
for some reason I have found deschutes to be harder then this
Definitely can be!
And I thought telluride was insane
It probably is haha but Park City is the place to be
wouldn't say jupiter is a dangerous bowl
Let’s see you go through the middle chute. Pretty dangerous.
I know cameras make it look less steep how Steep is it
75 degrees or so
@@sh1elds lmao you cannot turn on 75 degrees
One source I found said 41 degrees, and that’s definitely a bit closer if not accurate
