- Nothing could be more nineties than two dozen Hanna-Barbera mascot characters dancing to the Joseph Mega Mix on-stage at Paramount Canada's Wonderland. Watch for all the rare characters, including Wilma & Betty, Captain Caveman and the elusive Heritage Kids! Here too are the short-lived characters of Dwayne the Dragon and Jumbo the Giant from the 1993 Kids Kingdom addition.
This once-in-a-lifetime event happened in September 1997, shortly before Canada's Wonderland welcomed The Rugrats and The Animables in 1998. Later on the horizon were the Nickelodeon Central toons, including Dora the Explorer, SpongeBob, and the Wild Thornberrys. It would be ten years before Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang arrived to clear out the old crew. But nothing will top this one night in '97 when 28 rare characters converged for this memorable appearance at an after-hours entertainment staff appreciation event.

Huckleberry Hound, Jabber Jaw, Yogi Bear, Cindy Bear, Boo Boo Bear, Snagglepuss, Quick Draw McGraw, Hong Kong Phooey, George Jetson, Astro, Fred Flintstone, Wilma Flintstone, Pebbles Flintstone, Barney Rubble, Betty Rubble, Dino, Scooby Doo, Shaggy, Captain Caveman, Kids Kingdom Dwayne Dragon, Jumbo Giant, Kids Kingdom Trumpeters x2, all 6 Heritage Kids, including Major Mac. (But sorry, no Smurfs!)
If this was happening right now, we would've gotten achance to see other Characters like The Wiggles,The Blues Brothers, Loonette the Clown, The Looney Tunes, DC, Harry Potter, afew Cartoon Network Characters, SpongeBob & Patrick, Ren & Stimpy, Danny Phantom, Homer Simpson, Bender & Fry, Peter & Lois Griffin, Darkwing Duck & Launchpad McQuack, Kim Possible, Mickey & Minnie Mouse, Dr. Frank-N-Furter and possibly Kangaroo Jack to be apart of this as an updated version right now.
As one of the last generation of the replacements, the Nickelodeon cast, wow, wow, wow. This is absolutely epic. Nothing came even marginally close to this in our era. Was the after-hours event a staff talent night or the awards night? The latter, we had George and Fred out for one last appearance outside of the theatre, but purely for meet and greet. Sorry, I'm rambling, but wow.

@NicholasMoreau This was for the "Dwayne Awards" held each fall by the Entertainment Department. Before I started RetroFestive I was a Character Supervisor at Wonderland (back in the day) and produced this number. I think it may have been the last time many of these costumes saw the light of day :(
