    My dad bought one of first trailmanors ever built back in 1987 it's been all over the USA and Canada too.
    Now my brother has it, it's been a great camper!

    Sunshine, thank you for posting this. We just bought one and your video will help tremendously when we set it up for the first time (haven't picked it up yet). We wanted this because of the gas savings due to the low profile when towing and ability to store it in our garage. We have had every kind of camper from class A to tent and this is the one that will suit our needs the best! No storage fees, no low mileage when towing and best of all I will feel safe from bears (haha - always my big fear).

      Hi Kerry, Thanks for sharing this comment. I'm considering one too. How has your Trail Manor held up? Is it more durable than any of the campers you've owned? Thanks in advance for your time.

    This concept is amazing! I just saw it for the first time viewing a best of RV video. I am so glad you did the complete setup.

    Nice video, first time I've seen the electric slide in operation!
    If you get your torsion bars adjusted, you won't need any help raising that front shell. It should be very easy to do one handed. When you released that last clamp for the front shell, the center of the shell should rise about 6" when the torsion bars are adjusted.

    I don't think I need a motorized couch in mine. Just the enormous space and lower profile that you get from a tent trailer, but it's a legit, hard-sided camper. That thing looks a lot bigger 'n' fancier than I'd need. Have to go TrailManor site and see how many versions they make. Very cool to see this kind of hard-wall popup concept.

      Quite a few are out there dating back to 2004 & getting a good price for them - they have an owners foruum and I've monitored it to see what owners say about them & its mostly good / there are none in our area & I'm not so sure I want to run all over the country to find one

    Dang that is like setting up a pop top except you have more stuff to set up. I have a 2006 17T HiLo and after I engage the hydraulic button to lift the top you are basically done. All HiLo's are like mine except bigger.

  • @karljay7473
    @karljay7473 4 года назад

    Great concept, I think they could make this more automatic, but that just adds to the price. I always wondered why they didn't have more cabovers and 5th wheels like this. There's so much wasted space where wall's and floors can be stored and folded out.

  • @livinglifemyway7349

    I have a 2720SD, it should not take 2 people to lift up, You need to have the torsion bars adjusted it will raise much easier for you. They are great expandable travel trailers

    • @harrymills2770
      @harrymills2770 5 лет назад

      Yes. There's no reason that can't be engineered to be easier to lift. As is, I bet I could work out a quick cheat for a leverage advantage.

      We actually sold this TrailManor (I made this video for the new owner), so I’m sorry I can help here. But I agree it’s a good idea, those parts are tricky! You have to be really patient with the oven and keep it lit with a lighter stick about 60 seconds before you can turn the oven to your desired temp.

    This was super helpful! Thank you! When you travel, do you keep the cabinets loaded with light items ( like Paper plates) and the wardrobe loaded with clothes, or do you wait until after you set up, then load it?

    • @sunshinemesafarm4054
      @sunshinemesafarm4054  6 лет назад +1

      We always kept the cabinets loaded with stuff...the smaller cabinet had zip locks and napkins and such, while the bigger one had plastic plates and cups. Stuff jostles around a lot, so you want it pretty packed to stay in place. But organizing it each time was still easier than hauling things in and out. Happy trails!

    • @sunshinemesafarm4054
      @sunshinemesafarm4054  6 лет назад +1

      Oh, and I loaded the wardrobe separately each time...didn’t seem like clothes would stay on the hanger since it goes sideways.

      Brasspounder1 we actually made this video for the person to whom we sold the trailer. It is a bit tiring to set up, but it towed easy behind the old Ford F-150 we had at the time. It was perfect for our needs for several years until we upgraded the truck!

    • @larryb51
      @larryb51 3 года назад

      The walls are made with 1" styrofoam sandwiched between aluminum. The floor is also insulated with 2" styrofoam. While we haven't used it in the winter, others have, even in below freezing levels where you have to be mindful of plumbing. Ours is a 2002 and still holding up well.

  • @joeyseeds2039
    @joeyseeds2039 5 лет назад +1

    I saw a video where a guy sets the entire thing up in 2 minutes... I would assume this would be perhaps an older model ... as you performed much more tasks then he had on the 2019 ... I'm curious because I haven't seen one of these before today ... what I find the most interesting is how easy it should be to tow and how easy to garage store when not in use ... my concerns would be how sturdy is this in say an extreme storm, heavy winds and winter weather... ? ... very interesting though ... thanks for the video and thanks in advance for your response!

    • @sunshinemesafarm4054
      @sunshinemesafarm4054  5 лет назад +1

      Joseph cotellessa that could be in terms of easier set up on newer models. This trailer was super easy to town behind our 2001 F-150. No sway bars needed. Unfortunately, it was about 2 feet too long to ever fit in our garage, but we had a nice cover for it and winterizing was a breeze - literally as simple as opening the low point valves and unscrewing the shower head.

  • @Stormsteed
    @Stormsteed 4 года назад +1

    Where does everything store? Seems like you can’t store stuff in the wardrobe and cabinets because it would make those things prohibitively heavy to install. Second, it seems like this type of camper is not so well suited for short camping trips/overnights. Like, a lot of effort for just one night to put it together and take it apart again. I appreciate the video because I really liked this concept but realize this isn’t for us after seeing it.

      @sunshinemesafarm4054  5 лет назад +1

      Story Time it works great in the rain and I set it up several times in downpours. It isn’t designed for heavy snow loads, however. The insulation is pretty thin, so definitely a 3 vs 4 season trailer.

      @@sunshinemesafarm4054 I doubt it would keep one warm. There's just too many open gaps to effectively seal out all the cold air. I doubt Alaskans would be flocking to the dealers to buy this. But whoever cooked up this idea was a genius...

" Tuck this in, snap this button, put the bathroom together...its gets stuck and jammed, but it will line up, it keeps it stable, it clips together, but unless you set it up the lights won't work..." Seriously??? What a cheap piece of crap.

    • @kerryneas183
      @kerryneas183 5 лет назад

      They don't use particle board for the wall construction and this is very well made for a camper. Trust me, it works!
