I just joined today and based on how I am seeing the tutorials and mode of lectures from you, I know I will soon become a database admin. Thanks in advance
I guess what NEW does in this case is that it brings the new name being inserted. Under my limited knowledge, I can imagine that if you write old (when updating a table) it'll bring you the old name before its changed
Hi Mike ! Thank you for this tutorial .... i m just using microsof sql serveur in this tutorial and was fine ... but in this lessoon i cant find command line for microsoft sql and i can"t access to it with cmd (sqlcmd -E -I ..... this command its not working) if you know how to do that or anyone else knows ... please let me know and help me , and thank you again
can triggers be used to create a log table(custom log to note particular changes), where we can see changes attempted with date&time or is there simple method to check log
Just took a Udemy course in triggers were part of it. Had no idea really the rhyme or reason behind it on a grander scale, just new basic syntax of it but you clarified everything and even expanded my knowledge on the syntax so thank you so much
You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'DELIMETER $$ CREATE TRIGGER my_trigger BEFORE INSERT ON employee FOR EACH ROW BE' at line 1
Ok. I am so dumb. I was trying triggers at 9 am while working with WampServer and MySQL 5 Got that error Couldn't understand why Searched for this video I don't have PopSQL and the database I decided to download PopSQL and MySQL 8 and watch all the videos Now it's 6:30 pm And I finally realize that my mistake was that I was typing "delimiter" incorrectly all along
Thank you for the help, whenever I'm trying to teach myself how to program, you've always been a HUGE help. So thank you thank you thank you!!!

The only thing greater than your teaching skills is the amount of "actually" used in this video
