  • “In a world where everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I think it’s important to validate what we say through education and experience.”
In Dark to White, ocean photographer Philip Thurston provides an insightful story into the increasingly popular shark cage diving experience, and showcases the positives in how education and admiration for the ocean and its most notorious inhabitants, can inspire us to personally value and appreciate both the life we are given, and the life that surrounds us. Enjoy this 8 minute documentary style clip taken on board Calypso Star Charters at the Neptune Islands, South Australia.
Also, in this short documentary my brother and I visit the remarkable pink lakes of South Australia, a truly beautiful sight to behold!

Magnificent, I've been fascinated by white 🦈 in particular since I saw Jaws as a kid and was so scared I sat with my legs up on the setee (sofa) lol. As I've got older I wanted to know do they attack people regular? All of them? Or does each animal have it's own personality? Or are they just mindless killing machines? How do they mate etc...? (Still never been filmed has it?). And after seeing lots of documentaries I respect these animals, we go into their domain, they are hungry and may attack but it's not out of spite! it's hungry and wants to know what we are? Are we food so they take a bite! They have no hands biting is all they have to check... One day I'd love to do a cage dive myself and see one up close as I'm still terrified but also respect them now I'm older.
