TC was an underrated & underappreciated manager. His players played hard for him. No one jaked it and if they did, he'd squash it quickly & quietly. He was the best Manager they had since Davey Johnson.
Perfect, love them both and Mendy's story is a great one. Tell Mendy to start putting his memories in writing, he has a book waiting to be written, one day.
Great interview. I've been a Mets fan since birth, but I never was following this club as closely as this season. When I learned that it was Mendoza's first year being a manager, I was surprised. CM carries himself very well. I've been liking what he has been doing with the team and the faith that he has in his players, but I was intrigued about learning more about him. I enjoy what Jomboy does in Talkin' Yanks with the Bantering with Boone weekly sessions. Getting to know more of the manager in a "personal" level helps with winning over a fan base. It would be awesome to see more of Mendoza in some podcasts or interviews. He seems like a great father, husband, and manager, so his schedule might not allow it.
This was good. Really cool. Pretty special thanks SNY for sharing this interview. I wanted Terry back. And initially I wasn't happy about a brand new manager I didn't know who never managed. I was upset when Buck was gone and I wanted him back or Collins. Then I opened myself optimistically to just begin to get to listen to and get to know Mendoza and immediately he started winning me over and I've only gone on to liking him more and more. Sometimes I've questioned some of his in game decisions but I understood that he was finding out how to work through the struggles the Mets have faced to try to find a consistent winning formula. I like that he has not wanted to give up on certain guys who have really struggled believing that they can come out of it and also his bold acts along with Stearns to make big moves in pretty quick fashion to get certain guys out and other guys in. But I like him as a person. If I spoke to him in person I would tell him to tell the hitters to never go down looking at strike 3 without swinging the bat and to always think small and do the little things to get on base. Winker was a prime example last night. Just trying to get to 1st base thinking small and really working that count and bam. His first huge hit for his new team. It won't always be a homerun but it can be a walk or a base hit. But I'm assured now that he knows what he is doing. I've been liking how he has messed around with different lineups. Now he has Vientos batting in the 2 spot. He had Nimmo batting cleanup with Alonso 5th. No matter what everytime I see Nimmo I think he's leading off regardless of where he is batting. That makes things interesting. It deepens this deep lineup in a different way. Alright then cool. This was nice to see. I forgot to mention that I also thought that Beltran was going to win back his managerial job. He was practically the Mets manager and the job was stripped from him. But I'm glad he's working in the organization and like I said, I'm really happy with Mendoza.
I really thought the world of Terry Collin’s as Mets skipper. I wish he was still managing the team, however I am really rooting for Carlos Mendoza to be the next WS winning manager for the Mets
So far, so good for Mendoza. Seems to really have the pulse of the team.
Love Carlos Mendoza as the Mets manager!
This generation of Met fans are lucky to have Terry!!!
Awesome...love these guys.

In the book, "The Shift" one of the interesting manager stats showed that TC's mets played harder for him late in season relative to other teams.
For the love of the game. Two guys that love baseball and appreciate what it gave back. ❤
