I didn't know skank was a different style. for years I've been doing both in one thinking it's all DnB Step
it are different styles but from the same origins
@@royalgamertv6243 I always thought Skanking and DnB step were the same thing since they both dance to the same kind of music. Except I think Skanking originated from Ska Punk music. But then DnB adopted Skanking from Ska.

I love shuffling and mix it with cutting shapes and its so easy to me now, but trying to learn dnb and skank reminds me of how i felt at the beginning of shuffling😂
Yeah same I used to do cutting shapes and shuffling but skank and dnb step is so similar to shuffling so I already can do most of the dances

I do a combination of both mostly skank and a few awesome dnbstep steps. Is that even possible i mean i feel that it looks good but i don't know?
Well i think that this is typicaly the kind of dance that you can do the way you want, no real rules so your way is probably good too

dnbstep nowadays has another basic step, so u cant mix these two together :)

Isn't it the other way around? Since jump up is pretty new people started doing skank to it, dnb step has been around for soo long
Arts Imson skanking has been around since the 60's with ska and Reggae etc.
Modern skanking is based on the footwork of old skanking on ska music. DnBstep is closer to shuffle and cutting shapes.

+Amaury Libert you should try a backstep, then get you right foot high up to the right and put it down next to your left foot, and then a knee up. looks pretty cool and feels awesome while skanking imo 👌

OMG! that thing you call "skank" we also had in russia in 2008, a long time before than "skank" is appeared in europe. "skank" ("truedrum", as we ironically was calling it) is dnb for lazy people, who don't want to train and dance better. so it is funny to call the bad dnb dance as the another style. seriosly, dont confuse people and train dnb.

Wow I love that the thing we call “skank” FINALLY reached you guys in the 90s/00s - “skanking” was 30 years old by then. As for the ‘bad’ dance...I’d take someone going for it, on the beat & with the musical phrase over someone doing more difficult moves with no joy or connection to the soul of the music.
Step is much harder and looks better...
very subjective i think. harder, maybe. but i think skanking looks better, a lot smoother and such, while dnb step is all jumpy and looks rather hectic. just my opinion though.
