good lord this song slaps and i'm so happy to see it released. when i last saw ya live at the shrine, this song, with its sick riff, was easily the most memorable track that stuck with me DESPITE never hearing it on record before - and so not anticipating its awesomeness

OH FUCK YEAH!!!!! Y'all have totally leaned heavy into the dark doom prog ballad -- and it's all 100% Blood Lemon!!!! What an amazing song, one of the best and most unique new songs I've heard in many a moon. I was drawn in immediately by the opening bass riff, echoey guitar layer and cymbal taps, but when the power chords hit with the driving drum line I became enthralled -- that power chord progression deserves a spot in a certain Cleveland Museum, and the perfecto distortion-fuzz on the guitar is the just the right tone. The second, speedier bass riff is even more magnificent, and then y'all go into that extended vocal progression with those wonderful Melanie/Lisa/Lindsey 3-layer harmonies that both compliment and repel off each other in a free form driving boogie dance worthy of early Jefferson Airplane. I am like tingling with excitement and made happy listening to this. I'm really looking forward to my 2nd listen (in a few minutes from now), as songs this good are even better the second time around. Looking forward to seeing this played live soon -- about 15' in front of my face! Very, very creative and entertaining video as well. Oh, and I just read the lyrics and those are just the cherry on top -- a critical look at narcissistic screen culture, social media divides and our digital corporate overlords laughing as they drip-bleed us dry praying on our brains with A.I. assisted dopamine feeds that turn us into profit pods of the internet Borg, a few hundred million sterilized souls be damned.
