Stop comparing everything to the Fiesta. Reviewers on car websites and RUclips are always biased towards the Ford offering, and constantly give out negative comments about every other make. If Ferrari made a small hatchback, they would still say its not as good to drive as a Fiesta. Whats with the obsession? I have driven, and owned nearly 30 cars in 30 years, including two fiestas, on a 99 year plate and 2005 plate. Both were great cars in their day, and better in many ways to the current Fiesta, but im deeply suspicious of the way that the Fiesta is made out to be better than every other small hatch, which is total rubbish. I find it insulting to other manufacturers with the negative comments. If the other brands were so bad, do you really think people would buy them?
I bought a 208 in 2012 and still love it. Great comfort, very luxurious inside for a supermini and good looks. The 1.2Thp was not available at the time and although the 1.2Vti is good enough I would now go for the 1.2Thp for that little oomph especially in the lower revs.
I agree that for quick overtaking you should keep the 1.2VTi high in the revs, downshifting if necessary. It doesn't have much power below 2000 rpm. It doesn't have a turbo so it has limited torque.
+Youcef Twinky guys i plan to buy 1.2 vti 2015 model, what rpm it has in 5th gear 100-110kmh? i am mostly sitting in a city traffic, but sometimes i do cross country drive, i dont need power, i would like not be annoyed by 3k rpm at 100kmh like in some other smaller cars. also what is your fuel consumption in city?
it's a great looker, nice to see they have made the climate separate, seemed a bit of a faff going through the touchscreen to turn up the heating, glovebox is shocking and that cruise control is from the 206cc lol.
Dan Cooper jesus, I'd have hated any other car then haha. takes ages to get going, the puretech engine would be better being standard than the vti like I had
anthony hodgson for 82 bhp it's not sluggish, maybe something wrong with one you drove. it easily compares to the 1.4 engines I have driven! .....yes it's slower than 110 obviously but it's in no way, shape or form is it sluggish! kinda like saying the Gti is sluggish when you step out of a Ferrari, i know what sluggish feels like and it just isnt!
TL CB Unfortunately there is no CD-player, although in some country's it is an extra option on the optionlist. But with two USB's, AUX and bluetooth compatibility who wants a CD-player? And if you want one, it will be not practically installed in the glovebox

Agree with you! Look at his face from the beginning... He is prejudiced in all his comments. F*ck fiesta!

maaan .. i have a 1.2 vti too ! i complain bout it alot ... once u throw that 5th gear ... the car just dies ... no more power
+Youcef Twinky Well, I have no problem switching to 5th gear at 80km/h and accelerate to 130.

+Carrinthe exactly .. still a shitty engine tho ... better upgrade to 1.2 thp ..or 1.6 hdi

Nice review, good looking little car, Peugeot returning to form lately.
The 208 may "only" have a 285 litre boot, but it does carry a full-sized spare tyre.
Was waiting for this review! Sweet!
Good review for a young guy. Well done.
i have buy this 208 GT-line (Belgium) . to deliver in April ... can't wait ! i have 110hp , 1.2L Pure Tech Turbo

Nice place where you filmed this review.Where is this?!?!
Liverpool, near the echo arena and the docks !
I would to see Peugeot 208 in the United States again coming soon, and like to see someone win this car on the TPiR in the near future.
My next car :)
Would have been nice to know what the other engines are like
Outdated cruise control? Look at all Audi's models, they have the similar design....
Great review,this is the 208 I am thinking of getting or a Mazda2 sport-nav

+Graham Reid (Grizzle) the 208 always had the climate control on the dash, the 308 is the only having all on the screen...
rui518 ahh ok thanks for that I thought it was the same as the 308.
how come the 208 no longer gets climate control in Allure trim
GT is quite good
My first car 😏
Sam Sunderland mine too but it’s in shark grey 👌🏽
wish I had waited for the turbo charged engine. the 1.2 82horsepower is sluggish
anthony hodgson no it's not. in it class it's on of the quickest 82 bhp
