The Boysenberry.. worked in shells , is gorgeous.. I noticed, because I am crocheting s prayer shawl, on closed shells, using the Mandala Wood Nymph, which is very much like the B-berry.. I love how squishy and pretty my shawl is..
I love your enthusiam and your eye for beautiful colors. Aren't our husbands so patient! My husband used to go to the bookstore next door until they closed the bookstore. Since he passed away I can get to JoAnn's or Michael's anymore so I really appreciate that you take the time to show what is new and lovely. I only have Walmart or the internet. I did pick up the mandalas while they had them.
Hahaha! I loved it when you said having to go on a yarn diet! I laughed so hard! Thank you fir sharing these BEAUTIFUL YARN'S! I absolutely love the blanket that you're making here! BEAUTIFUL!
I recently used up a ball of Lion Brand Mandala in the Unicorn colorway, which was the closest I could find to a "baby pastels" colorway in that yarn before Mandala Baby was introduced. I'll have to try both Mandala Baby and LB Cupcake sometime soon, as I'm always making baby and children's afghans for Project Linus. I really appreciated the head-to-head comparisons you did between LB Mandala/Mandala Baby and LB Cupcake. (Oh, and I just saw the "Illini stripes" colorway of Bernat Softee Baby Stripes -- how cute! especially for Illini alums having babies!). Thanks for posting this!
Now all I want to do is to run to my Joann’s-, and buy all of thise beautiful yarns, I thunk. That makes you an enabler.... 😊.... Your blanket is just beautiful,,, Both the pattern, and the yarn are so lovely. ❤️❤️👍
Have u seen the caron cotton cakes yet ..omg there to die for !!!! ...so soft . ..and beautiful colours ..im addicted !!! ..i have to go back to Michael's tomorrow they sell out !!
Hi KJ, another great video! First off, love your blanket, beautiful shells is a wonderful pattern. I’ve got one on my hook now in Lion Brand Ice Cream moon mist. I have two cakes of the boysenberry also. Might make a baby blanket. Ok, am I the only one who is disappointed with the cupcake yarn? I’ve only used mandala as my Walmart never carried the Baby, and I’m very spoiled by it. I bought one cake of the cupcake which is what I do with yarn I’ve never used. I tried it right away and just hated the feel of it. It feels soft in the cake, but when you’re working it up, it’s rough and scratchy, kind of like Red Heart Super Saver, which I never use. Im sad cause the colors are so gorgeous, but it just doesn’t work up beautiful like Mandala. 😭
I meant to thank you for featuring affordable yarns that so many of us love,,,, I have to admit that I get tired of seeing only the high end yarns on so many popular podcasts... Yarns that most if us out here in the real world cannot afford... Some actually treat the word “acrylic” as if it were a four letter word.... They will snidely say acrylic has its place, but clearly imply that real Knitters...serious Knitters just do not use it...unless they need to do a practice piece. Acrylics have come a long way over the years. There are so many beautiful, soft options now. I have afghans that I crocheted decades ago.. They are still look great, and are so soft... When they are dirty, or just need freshening up, I simply through them in the wash.. Now.. please excuse me, while I thunk about my next trip to Joann’s😊.’
Agreed I love acrylic yarn and there’s many many soft acrylic yarns and even acrylic and a small percentage of wool in a lot of brands but I’m the same I love acrylic yarn there washable and machine dryable
Thank you! Your Shell blanket is stunningly beautiful - it’s simply breathtaking 🌸🌸🌸

The blanket is gorgeous!! You are so right about the yarn being an Illini color. I live in Illinois not too far from the U of I.
Wish could get mandala and cupcake yarns here in Nairobi

Oh I'm stuck on the Caron Big Cakes, Caron Tea Cakes and the Simply Soft Paints, Lol
I hear that the Cupcakes are exactly like the Mandala ones. Same yardage, Fiber content, etc..

Forgot to mention the blanket you are working on is gorgeous!
Wish we could get all these in Ontario Canada whahh shipping makes things so much more and Canada dollar exchange rate really bad right now.
My husband: you have a yarn problem.
Me: yeah my problem is I don't have enough yarn. XD
DK colors haven't come to my Joann's yet!! Love your color choices btw!
