As adults, we don't get many chances to actually be competitive. I don't lay alot of body but I'm guilty of trying to block shots and make up for bad plays with hard backchecks. We didn't make the NHL but it's still fun to play the best you can.
Nothing wrong with blocking a shot, your the only one who can get hurt. Those dbags trying to fight and chirping should go buy a sex doll to help that built up frustration
You are THAT guy. You are THE guy playing like there are scouts in the crowd. You are the cancer of men’s league. It’s all about being with the boys. Having a good time on the ice. The top priority is get thru the game without getting hurt so you can crush the beers waiting for you back in the room. YOU are the douchbag of men’s league.
Sutton keswick men’s over 40 league only had one fight last year I believe. Not sure about the open age league, but fighting is rare. It did get stupid in midget and juvenile 30 years ago.
Randy Marsh IMO, anybody laughing at a cage is a moron. Plain and simple. "Oh, you are concerned about your safety in a sport with a lot of potential harm". Yeah, I'm not an idiot and a bunch of you cage-less morons run around thinking you're pros and I want to keep my fucking teeth lmfao.
Getting hit in the mouth with a puck is only worth it if you're a millionaire playing in the NHL. If you're in a men's league and you're mocking guys for wearing a cage then you're a moron.
@@BasePuma4007 I mock the guys who wear them and then act like morons themselves. I would never mock someone for wearing a bird cage for safety, heck my buddy played a year in the NHL and the rest of his career as a pro and even he wore a bird cage as long as possible in jr, but a lot of guys who wear them lack respect in terms of other peoples safety based on their own feeling of being protected. Or they genuinely can't control themselves or stick because they suck.
I think this is way cooler than filling air time with fabricated bs Leafs storylines...that nonsense about Kapanen over the weekend was lame. If there's a lull, I'm much happier to hear these guys discuss an off topic like this one.
I live in Tennessee and go to see the predators games and I can tell you first hand that the crowd participation is absolutely amazing and it helps bring the fans closer to the team .great for the sport.
i usually play in competitive div mens leagues... but i subbed for a lower div and lost 3 teeth, while i was breaking the puck in their zone on a powerplay (skating fast through the blue line), and a guy flat footed high sticked me straight in the grill....puck was 6 feet on the side away from him.
"Grabner scored 40 goals one year"... Grabner put up 34 goals his second season in playing for the Islanders.. and they were most likely a product of lining with Tavares. He hasnt ever come close to touching 40 goals.
Grabner plays D ,his ENer's product of his hard work,my point is he's not out there waving his arms leg humping for free goals...5×5 hes a 20 goal scorer, all the while playing the PK and taking on the hardest defensive assignments, years he struggled offensively he was injured, loved him on the Rangers
If we're gauging the level of difficulty of goals scored, then we gotta differentiate between 5-on-5 goals and powerplay goals cuz it's clearly easier to score when you have the man advantage against the opposing team...
I had the chance to play in a Finnish celebrity team (Pietarinkadun Oilers) with a lot of former NHLers for a few seasons - we had the best ice time (10:00AM or 7:30PM) and the best location. If we didn't have 2'000 NHL games and a few Stanley Cup rings on the ice - then it was a slow morning/evening - and what O and Noodles say rings correct even here in Europe. A lot of mediocre players seem to think they are playing for the cup on a rainy Tuesday morning when not even their girl friends are watching and think they have to skate 30 miles above their personal speed limit - meaning completely out of control. We at least had no fights - because the opponents knew - if you touch one of our big guys - it's lights out - period! I enjoyed the team only practice games so much more than the league games where you were looked at as a moving trophy because you are in the same team as # 17or #10... when these guys were on the ice - even I could score goals because an amateur cannot imagine the timing and the precision of a former NHLer passing to you!
My experience with professional hockey players in men's league or shinny or whatever (name the league or level) is they don't even need to try. They can't just coast around and their hockey IQ is so far above mine they just look awesome without being awesome. Oh, and they make you look awesome too.
Wolls problem is not standing up enough. This guy as you mentioned let in two point shots and I believe that standing up he could see past the players standing in front of him.
