I love this video. I smoked my first pork butt on my Char Griller Smokin' Champ, and it came out great. I used a different rub, and a different thermometer (similar to meat stick X) but otherwise followed along exactly with Geoffrey. I love his enthusiasm and gentle encouragement throughout the video. I referred to the video several times during the cook. With the Champ, you have to fuss with the firebox a bunch during the cook, but it's worth it The results were awesome. Thanks!!

Looks amazing!! I've never thought of wrapping a pork butt in a pan and adding more seasoning. Did you have to add more lump charcoal to your 980?
Nope. The cook was completed with the one fill and I still had some left when I was done.
Looks like another get cook. Was planning on doing one myself this weekend. Go Vols by the way

It took about 2 hours to reach 205
