throught the whole video i was thinking "damn that artstyle looks VERY familiar" and its because the creator also made perfect vermin and swallow the sea, both are short and sweet horror games that are FREE on steam, i heavily recomend playing them

I was wondering why swallow the sea's ouroboros creature was in this game lol. Now that I think about it, maybe the main character is a insight into the actual creators thoughts and emotions?

For my Lisa fans in the audience, Arnold (One of the OP party members in the game) is actually in one of the fangames of Lisa I’ve covered, Timeless in Pointless, as a secret party member. He’s partly the reason I got into this game in the first place, and I’m happy to have found it. I also reccomend Lisa and the fangames to anyone who loves turn based RPGs.

I got this game because of this video. This random video from a creator I've never heard from about a game I knew even less about. It picked my interest enough to dig more into it until I eventually bought it not long ago. And ever since then it has quickly become my favorite rogue-like of all time. The uniqueness of each individual run has kept each run feeling so fresh and interesting. The variety of characters and Items keeps me thinking about potential builds to try in the future. The story and writing gives me enough to chew on to keep me invested in what's happening.
All of this from 1, random video. I guess they were right "Well a broken clock is right twice. And if a clock can muster that..."
Hope this video blows up someday dood. keep up the good work

Ok 2 things, take with a grain of salt.
1st Screw you now I am absolutely addicted to Brutal Orchestra and I bought it nearly instantly and played through it about 20 times while having a idiot savant luck that everything went like I wanted in 1st, 2nd, 5th run beating the game in those moments, and still wanting to come back to 100% it.
2nd, thank you, you glorious person you for showing the game to me because sweet lord I would miss out on it and never experience a gameplay form and music I would fall in love with so fast.
I would say thanks youtube also for showing me the vid, but screw them they screw over content creators.
Still, thank you for all the work on this video, this isn't a joke it actually did influence me to buy the game the same day just an hour after contemplating over if I should wait for a sale, which lately isn't something I do...
But since I done it and absolutely fell in love with the whole experience and characters (shout out to npc described as "horny jesus" and my best pall "Bronzo") I do hope you will make more of those videos because discovering a thing that deserves so much more recognition is something positive for the game themselves.

Not only would I say it's a Masterpiece, I would actually say it's the best game ever made.
I've been playing this game for a year now, and I can attest to everything you've said in the video, pigment is just a godlike system.
I was honestly shocked when you said there was 22 party members, it feels like there's like 60 because of the way each character also gets a random moveset, except longliver, and nowak, and somebody who I was tasked to forget. Granted I also play modded and there's a lot of party member mods, most of them really good! I've been wanting to learn modding just so I could make characters for this game specifically.
As an aspiring game dev, I will also be stealing the pigment system with no remorse for every turn based game I will ever make. Also the cute little attack animations, love those attack animations.

What I have observed in regards to turn based combat systems, is that any good ones always involve some element of space. Movement and positioning increases the potential complexity so greatly it cannot really be matched.

It definitely does deserve more attention. Hell I only found out about it because of a VERY unknown twitter artist making one of my favourite pieces of fanart I've seen of this game, literally being my introduction. I almost completely missed my now favourite turn based game, and only found it because of a random YTer I watched did a one time collab with another YTer who eventually quit YT to just do art on twitter and game development, doing random fanart of a game she herself randomly found one day just trying to search for a different game.
And I am so happy that the Rub Goldberg machine that is my life let me find this game~

It makes me very happy that you dedicated your time for this as you did justice to this game quality with this video and I want to add an additional point to encourage whoever is reading this comment to play this
Turn based RPGs often sin from obscure data. It can be an effect activation chance, base stats... It's a shame because you need to look SOMEWHERE ELSE rather than the game itself to get a grasp of possibly important things. This game however gets a well deserved round of applauses for giving you the most relevant data ALWAYS. You can check basically everything in any moment and you even can look a glossary with all the terms of this game
You won't be able to predict the minimal RNG things, but this game does a sublime work because they allow you to understand everything else while keeping a spark of randomness that spices up every run

Gonna buy this game tmrw, decided to listen to the soundtrack multiple times throughout the day and I’m HOOKED! The art style is absolutely stunning, the gameplay looks amazing and the story seems sick! I recently played Issac and just now beat Dogma, I’ve been craving a new game to take my time like Issac and I think this will be it. Thank you for the awesome video and I’m looking forward to this game! Also on the topic of unknown indie games, Rain World is phenomenal, not really a rouge-like but has certain elements of one. More of a survival horror physics based platformer. Check it out if you have the time!

Rain World is great! A really unique experience that's unlike anything else I've played. I talk about it a little in my most recent video, too!

I’m coming back here after 160 hours and having 100% on the game I think it’s safe to say. This is the best game I’ve ever played.

I have a question about how much this game will be for me as an isaac player.
My favorite parts about Isaac involve the fact that the thinking part (risk reward Management, which rooms to explore, destination and the likes) involves thinking way ahead to the future of the run, meanwhile the action part is reserved to on-the-toe quick thinking and pure skill.
I'm afraid the strategic complexity and the amount of thinking will be a bit too much for me. And I am also afraid of how much I will miss the quick thinking. I like managing my risk and reward based on the confidence in my abilities, and that I can trust myself to avoid taking damage.
I like how in this game you can see moves ahead so you can plan out what to do, but you can't really plan on letting skillful play carry you far, as in turn-based combat it's much more reliant on thinking (yes I'm admitting to not feeling smart enough).
With all of those in mind, do you think I will still enjoy this game?
Also, how long is each run? I feel like that's an important thing to mention when talking about roguelikes

The difficulty of Brutal Orchestra is very gradual and slowly increases as you improve, so if you are struggling the game will hold off for you to get your footing before increasing the difficulty.
Not feeling smart enough was a common worry among playtesters but ultimately was never the case people are a lot smarter than they think they are.
Runs take about 45 minutes but experienced players tends to start beating it in about 30.

For my first 4 hours of playing this game, I just completely missed that there was a "rank up" thing in this game somehow... but I still got to hard mode 😅
