This video has been helping me with figuring out disassembly to replace the harness going to the underbody for the camera, all of the wires have broken where the tailgate hinges. Do you recall what the harness is going into the power lock? I only see the one for the camera, but I assume they're both running through the one harness. Thanks!

I believe they're in the same harness because I only saw one wire loom coming out of the tailgate. Geez, with my luck, that'll be my next issue. Good luck.

Looks simple, but I cannot get the torque screws to budge. Any suggestions?

I remember back in the day that things were made outta metal. :)

You betcha! We also rode in the back of p/u trucks, never heard of wearing a bicycle helmet and played with fireworks. Surprisingly, most of us came through unscathed.

Anyone know what that cover is called that's held by the torx screws (removed in beginning of video, that reveals with wiring on the tailgate)? I need a replacement of that cover and can't find it online

What year is your truck? Because I have an older model. And I don't have the same type of bolts that you have and taking yours off.
I have to replace the telegate latch and it's Proving to be a bigger pain in the royal ass than I thought it was going to be.

It’s a shame I’ll never own another Chevy again love my Silverado and then it rusted to death in 10 years I’m a Toyota man. They haven’t even paid off the debt they received from the American people now good luck with your truck

Agree on the GM debt...it's called a loan for a reason (you pay it back). I don't see any rustbelt vehicles that are immune to corrosion around me. At least in the truck segment, they're all toast in 10-15 years w/o preventative measures.

Hilltown My brake lines rusted out. That is unusual

Yes, keep buying foreign vehicles while complaining about America company debt and not supporting them. A great American you are!

@@iron60bitch62 Chevrolet has galvanized steel on the body panels. Both sides except the roof. Sounds like you didn’t clean the brine off like you should have.

@@tomthumb1498 fyi, the American trucks are comprised of 80% foreign parts. 2 of the most American made vehicles to date are the Honda Civic and the Honda Odyssey which 80% of their parts come from the usa and they are completely assembled in the usa… I hate to break it to you but labeled 100% American made doesn’t mean the materials used to produce that product aren’t mostly obtained from overseas. Most products in the usa are foreign sourced and only assembled in the usa which doesn’t make it American made.
